02 Jun 14. Electric Boat Corp., Groton, Connecticut, is being awarded a $13,228,560 cost-plus-fixed-fee modification to the previously awarded contract (N00024-13-C-2128) for procurement of Common Missile Compartment material. The contractor will be purchasing various long lead time parts to support the manufacture of the Common Missile Compartment for the Ohio Replacement Program. This contract combines purchases for the U.S. Navy (37 percent) and the United Kingdom (63 percent) under the foreign military sales program. Work will be performed in Groton, and is scheduled to be completed by December 2017. Fiscal 2011 FMS and fiscal 2014 research, development, test and evaluation funding in the amount of $13,228,560 will be obligated at time of award. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. Supervisor of Shipbuilding Conversion and Repair, Groton, Connecticut, is the contracting activity.

04 Jun 14. QinetiQ has been awarded a £5.3m five year contract to deploy and maintain the UK MoD’s underwater mobile acoustic targets. The autonomous underwater mobile targets are torpedo size and simulate the radiated noise and target echo strength of a submarine. They are used for training submarine crews to detect and/or classify targets and for firing training torpedoes as part of on-going weapon and platform acceptance trials for the Royal Navy’s submarine fleet, including the latest Astute class. The contract will be delivered by QinetiQ’s Platform Readiness Services team based at The British Underwater Test and Evaluation Centre (BUTEC). Platform Readiness Services have been delivered not only to the UK MoD and the Royal Navy, but also a number of other countries and their navies including the US, Norway, Canada and Sweden and naval constructors including BAE Systems, Babcock and Thales. 02 Jun 14. Serco has secured a new three year contract with the UK MoD to provide a range of manpower services to Joint Helicopter Command at Wattisham Air Station. The contract valued at £400k per year, will see Serco remain at Wattisham Air Station near Ipswich where it has supported Army aviation since 1995. Serco provides a range of services at the Station from Quality Assurance and Health and Safety management to Motor Transport vehicle servicing and Administration. The company’s 9 strong team is fully integrated into 7 Air Assault Battalion REME who work in partnership with the Army to maintain the UK’s Apache helicopter force.


04 Jun 14. Purple Secure Systems reselected as a supplier for G-Cloud 5. Early last year a “cloud first” policy was implemented for all central Government departments.
