23 Apr 14. Elbit Systems Ltd. was awarded an approximately $123m contract from a European country for the supply of defense electronic systems for airborne applications. The contract will be performed over a four-year period.

23 Apr 14. Saab has received an order from the Finnish military vehicle manufacturer Patria Land Systems Oy. The order includes vehicle electronics for the information systems of Patria AMV 8×8 vehicles being delivered to South Africa. The deliveries include a data network and operator displays plus a digital video system with cameras. These will be integrated in the Patria AMV 8×8 vehicles to be delivered by Patria to South Africa. The deliveries will take place in 2014-2016. The sub systems will be locally supported in South Africa.

23 Apr 14. Harris bags $133m US Navy broadband satellite terminal contract. Harris has won a $133m contract from the US Navy to supply shipboard satellite communications terminals, which will give crews access to high-bandwidth voice and data communications. As part of the eight-year deal, Harris will deliver up to 120 new high-data-rate terminals, adding to the 70 delivered since 2008 under a commercial broadband satellite programme (CBSP) unit level variant (ULV) agreement. The latest order, along with the CBSP ULV and Force Level Variant awards, brings the total potential value of contracts that have been awarded to Harris to more than $250m. 23 Apr 14. Alliant Techsystems Operations LLC, Defense Electronic Systems, Northridge, Calif., is being awarded an $83,399,073 modification to a previously awarded firm-fixed-price contract (N00019-13-C-0162) for the full rate production Lot III of the advanced anti-radiation guided missile, to include conversion of 110 AGM-88B high-speed anti-radiation missiles to AGM-88E all-up-rounds and captive air training missiles, to include related supplies and services. Work will be performed in Northridge, Calif. (90 percent); Fusaro, Italy (8 percent); and Ridgecrest, Calif. (2 percent), and is expected to be completed in December 2016. Fiscal 2014 weapons procurement, Navy contract funds in the amount of $83,399,073 will be obligated at time of award, none of which will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity.

24 Apr 14. The Boeing Co., Mesa, Ariz., was awarded a $103,800,000 firm-fixed-price contract for advance procurement funding for the purchase of long lead items as part of the AH-64E Apache Full Rate Production Lot 5 aircraft requirement. Fiscal 2014 other procurement funds in the amount of $103,800,000 were obligated at the time of the award. Estimated completion date is Dec. 31, 2014. Bids were solicited via the Internet with one received. Work will be performed in Mesa, Ariz. Army Contracting Command, Redstone Arsenal, Ala., is the contracting activity (W58RGZ-14-C-0018).

18 Apr 14. Lockheed Martin Corp., Orlando, Fla., was awarded a $24,449,293 cost-plus-fixed-fee, sole-source contract to install a vehicle and dismounted exploitation radar (VADER) system and an aerial precision geolocation kit on a King Air 350ER aircraft. Fiscal 2013 research, development, testing and evaluation funds in the amount of $5,700,639 were obligated at the time of the award. Estimated completion date is March 18, 2015. One bid was solicited and one received. Work will be performed in Hagerstown and Linthicum Heights Md.; Greenville, Texas; and Fayetteville N.C. Army C
