CONTRACT NEWS IN BRIEF

19 Dec 02. Thales-Raytheon Systems Co. LLC, El Segundo, Calif., is being awarded a delivery order amount of $38,140,266 as part of a $138,068,482 firm-fixed-price contract for four AN/TPQ-37(V)3 Firefinder radars. Work will be performed in Forest, Miss. (78.5%); Fullerton, Calf. (3.1%); McKinney, Texas (2.7%); Indianapolis, Ind. (9.9%); and El Segundo, Calif. (5.8%), and is expected to be completed by Jan. 31, 2007. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This was a sole source contract initiated on July 12, 2002. The U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Command Acquisition Center, Fort
Monmouth, N.J., is the contracting activity (DAAB07-00-D-H002).

Textron Marine and Land Systems, New Orleans, La., is being awarded an $11,442,557 modification to a firm-fixed-price contract for 20 armored security vehicles. Work will be performed in New Orleans, La., and is expected to be completed by June 2006. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 151 bids solicited on April 24, 1995, and three bids were received. The U.S. Army Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command, Warren, Mich., is the contracting activity (DAAE07-99-C-S001).

18 Dec 02. O’Gara-Hess & Eisenhardt Armoring Co., Fairfield, Ohio, is being awarded a $38,296,320 modification to a firm-fixed-price contract for 540 M1114 Up-Armored High Mobility Multi-Purpose Wheeled Vehicles with gun shields, 10 turret ring kits, and 10 gun shield kits. Work will be performed in Fairfield and is to be completed by June 30, 2004. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This was a sole-source contract initiated on April 10, 2000. The U.S. Army Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command, Warren, Mich., is the contracting activity (DAAE07-00-C-S019).

17 Dec 02. Boeing Co., Seattle is being awarded a $277,766,178 fixed-price-incentive, firm-fixed-price, time and materials, labour hour contract modification to provide for Global Solution, restructures the NATO mid-term EMD portion of the contract (equal to an increase of $239,898,308), establishes long-lead procurement to protect production and retrofit (PAR) schedules and price (equal to an increase of $37,867,870), establishes prices options for the PAR phase of the NATO mid-term program (equal to $521,579,065). The priced options include the kits for production and retrofit of 17 NATO Airborne Warning And Control System Aircraft and two mission simulators as well as the procurement of initial and follow-on spares. Boeing will perform this effort in Seattle and other locations. At this time, $267,766,178 of the funds has been obligated. Further funds will be obligated as individual delivery orders are issued. This work will be completed by October 2008. The negotiations were completed in October 2002. The Headquarters Electronic Systems Center, Hanscom Air Force Base, Mass., is the contracting activity (F19628-97-C-0112, P00068).

AM General Corp., South Bend, Ind., is being awarded a $48,981,015 modification to a firm-fixed-price contract for 643 High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles. Work will be performed in South Bend and is to be completed by Dec. 31, 2007. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal
year. This was a sole-source contract initiated on July 17,
2000. The U.S. Army Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command,
Warren, Mich., is the contracting activity (DAAE07-01-C-S001).

16 Dec 02. Lockheed-Martin, Orlando, Fla., was awarded a delivery order amount of $118,107,884.57 as part of an $180,005,028 firm-fixed-price contract for multiple spares applicable to the Target Acquisition Destination Site and Pilot Night Vision Sensor of the AH64 Helicopter on Dec. 13, 2002. Work will be performed in Orlando, Fla., and is to be completed by March 28, 2009. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.
