26 Apr 13. Denmark orders Heavy Tactical Recovery Vehicles from RMMV. Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles (RMMV) is supplying the Danish armed forces with 14 heavyweight protected recovery vehicles. Weighing some 36 tons, the Heavy Tactical Recovery Vehicle (HTRV) is based on the tried-and-tested RMMV SX45 8×8 chassis, combining extreme stability, safety and crew comfort with outstanding manoeuvrability, whether on the road or in the toughest terrain. Delivery begins in the first quarter of 2014, and is scheduled to conclude in the second quarter of 2015.

23 Apr 13. Raytheon Anschuetz, a German based, indirect, wholly-owned subsidiary of Raytheon Company, in partnership with Italian marine automation provider Seastema, has been selected to deliver Integrated Bridge and Navigation Systems (IBNS) for two Italian Coast Guard military patrol vessels. The vessels are currently being built at Fincantieri’s Castellammare di Stabia (Naples) shipyard. Delivery of the IBNS will be the first military application under a teaming agreement between Raytheon Anschuetz and Seastema. Together, the companies will provide Italy’s Coast Guard patrol vessels with the latest generation IBNS, fully integrated with Seastema’s SEAS-Navy ship automation system. Having successfully delivered advanced bridge systems to the commercial mega yacht market, the Anschuetz-Seastema team is delivering fully integrated automation and navigation functionality to military vessels. The integrated bridge system will include features such as solid-state and conventional radars, electronic chart display and information system (ECDIS), and one multifunctional workstation for access to ECDIS and ship control data (conning), as well as the adaptive trackpilot and a full package of navigation sensors.

24 Apr 13. ATK to supply guided advanced tactical rocket for USSOCOM testing. Alliant Techsystems (ATK) has been awarded a contract for the supply of a low-cost, lightweight, precision-guided missile for evaluations by the US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), as part of the Defense Acquisition Challenge (DAC) programme. Under the terms of the $3.2m contract, ATK will deliver its guided advanced tactical rocket (GATR) and precision-guided rocket launcher (PGRL) for both environmental and operational evaluation on the USSOCOM’s MH-60L/M rotary-wing platforms. 23 Apr 13. BAE Systems Land and Armaments LP., Sterling Heights, Mich., was awarded a modification (No. P00019), to a previously awarded fixed-price-incentive contract (W56HZV-11-C-C001), with a maximum value of $159,481,403 to extend the ground combat vehicle technology development phase by six months. Fiscal 2013 Research, Development, Testing and Evaluation, Army contract funds are being obligated on this award. The Army Contracting Command, Warren, Mich., is the contracting activity.

23 Apr 13. BAE Systems Land and Armaments L.P., York, Pa., was awarded a $28,744,284 modification (No. PZ0042), to a previously awarded firm-fixed-price contract (W56HZV-09-c-0408), to procure M88A2 heavy equipment recovery combat utility lift and evacuation system vehicles. Work will be performed in York, with an estimated completion date of March 31, 2014. Fiscal 2012 procurement contract funds are being obligated on this award. The Army Contracting Command, Warren, Mich., is the contracting activity.
