13 Nov 12. KBR has been awarded the Joint Operational Fuel System contract by the UK MoD. KBR will supply the MOD with fuel-handling equipment which will be used on operations and in support of military exercises worldwide. The contract is for an initial two-year period and will involve the supply of equipment and services worth approximately $35m.

12 Nov 12. Lockheed Martin UK Ampthill signed supplier contracts with engineering design specialists MIRA and Ultra Electronics to support the Warrior Capability Sustainment Programme (WCSP).
MIRA has opened a dedicated new facility at Nuneaton, where Lockheed Martin UK engineers and MIRA staff will work together on mechanical design, electrical design, and systems integration and test work under WCSP. Approximately 20 engineers and support staff will initially be employed at the facility with the numbers expected to grow as the programme matures.
Ultra Electronics Precision Air & Land Systems (Ultra) will carry out work at its facility in Cheltenham on the Warrior Power Distribution System, the Cannon Control Unit and Fire Control Computer (FCC). Ultra is already well underway with the development of the FCC and will deliver the first Warrior units early next year.
Approximately 20 key suppliers, supported by a number of subcontractors, will be contracted by Lockheed Martin UK Ampthill to support WCSP. The total programme is expected to sustain or create 600 jobs, with 90 percent of the work being completed in the UK.

12 Nov 12. The Ministry of Defense in the Netherlands is to order additional encrypted products from Sectra and will thus make secure communication possible for a larger number of users. The order value totals SEK2.6m. The Ministry of Defense in the Netherlands is a loyal Sectra customer and has a framework agreement with Sectra for deliveries of Sectra’s Tiger products. Security awareness in the Ministry is high and even more employees will now be equipped with a personal Tiger XS to protect voice and data communication up to the highest security level, SECRET. The order also includes Sectra’s infrastructure for the distribution of cryptography keys, which will facilitate the task of system administrators to allocate the correct authority to users.

14 Nov 12. Primordial received a $2,881,681 Natick Soldier Research, Development, and Engineering Center (NSRDEC) Rapid Innovation Fund (RIF) contract to integrate and transition Primordial’s flagship product–Ground Guidance off-road navigation software–into FalconView, Nett Warrior, Tactical Ground Reporting System (TIGR), and Joint Battle Command Platform (JBC-P). Under the same contract, NSRDEC acquired government purpose rights (GPR) for Ground Guidance. As a result, any United States government agency or contractor may freely use Ground Guidance in government applications. NSRDEC will orchestrate the integration effort, coordinating with Product Manager (PM) Special Operations Mission Planning Office (SOMPO) for FalconView, PM Ground Soldier for Nett Warrior, and PM Force XXI Battle Command Brigade and Below (FBCB2) for TIGR and JBC-P. The contract has an 18 month period of performance. Ground Guidance is patented software that plans fast and concealed routes for dismounted and mounted soldiers operating on- and off-road. Ground Guidance additionally supports movement projection, alternate routing, intervisibility analysis, chokepoint detection, ingress/egress routing, ambush detection, and load analysis.

12 Nov 12. The U.S. Navy has ordered an additional 53 General Dynamics-built AN/USC-61(C) four-channel Digital Modular Radios (DMR) for use aboard new Navy ships, submarines and inshore sites. In addition to the new radios, existing DMR hardware will be modified to accommodate networking waveforms owned by the government.
