31 Oct 12. ThalesRaytheonSystems has been selected by the French
defense procurement agency (DGA) to supply the French Air Force with a Ground Master 406 radar base and provide on-site support at Nice Mont-Agel airbase. The contract, awarded on September 7, 2012, calls for the supply and installation of a Ground Master 406 (GM 406), associated civil engineering, through-life support for three years with guaranteed operational availability of 98%, and information system security for the radar base.

31 Oct 12. Chemring Detection Systems announced a $29m contract award to supply chemical detection systems to the US Army. The award was made by the Edgewood Contracting Division of the Aberdeen Providing Grounds Contracting Command for over 100 Joint Services Lightweight Standoff Chemical Agent Detectors (JSLSCAD). The systems will be installed in the Stryker Nuclear Biological Chemical Reconnaissance Vehicle (NBCRV). (Source: ASD Network)

FLIR Systems, Inc. has been awarded a contract from the U.S. Army valued at up to $88.3m for the procurement of Domestic Response Capability (DRC) kits for use by National Guard Weapons of Mass Destruction Civil Support Teams. The DRC kit is an integrated suite of advanced sensors and support equipment for detecting and decontaminating chemical warfare agents and other emerging threats. Under the terms of the three year contract, the Army has placed an initial order for $26.9 million. Deliveries under this initial order are expected to be completed by December 2013. Production of the DRC kits will be performed out of FLIR’s facility in Elkridge, MD, and will utilize sensors from several FLIR operations.

30 Oct 12. Harris Corporation received a $50.5m delivery order for advanced satellite communications terminals under the U.S. Army’s Modernization of Enterprise Terminals (MET) program. 01 Nov 12. John Deere Construction Retail Sales, Moline, Ill., was awarded contract SPM8EC-13-D-0004. The award is a fixed price with economic price adjustment contract with a maximum $776,000,000 for procurement of commercial type construction equipment. Other locations of performance are in Iowa and N.C. Using military services are Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Federal Civilian Agencies. There were fifteen solicitations with fifteen responses. Type of appropriation is fiscal 2013 through fiscal 2018 Defense Working Capital Funds. The date of performance completion is Oct. 30, 2017. The contracting activity is the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support, Philadelphia, Pa.

29 Oct 12. The U.S. Army competitively awarded Lockheed Martin a $114m, five-year contract to upgrade combat vehicle simulators for soldier training and to expand the training capability for the Marine Corps. Lockheed Martin will develop and install 13 upgrades for close combat tactical training systems at 19 Army installations. The new technologies will add integrated displays and replicate tactical vehicle capabilities identical to those now entering the field. The enhancements will be fielded starting in February 2013. In addition to the upgrades for the Army, Lockheed Martin will deliver new training systems to the Marine Corps at Camp Lejeune, N.C., providing commonality across services.

31 Oct 12. SAIC was awarded a basic ordering agreement (BOA) by the U.S. Army to provide Enhanced Army Global Logistics Enterprise (EAGLE) support services to the Army Sustainment Command (ASC). The multiple-award BOA has a five-year period of performance and a total contract
