08 Oct 12. Harris Corporation received a $5.1m order to supply Falcon III® multiband, multi-mission handheld radios to a NATO nation. The radios will be used to provide line-of-sight and beyond-line-of-sight tactical communications to the country’s armed forces personnel. The AN/PRC-152(C) is the most widely deployed JTRS Software Communications Architecture-certified and NSA Type-1 certified handheld radio, with more than 160,000 units deployed worldwide. The radio provides voice and data capabilities over the 30 MHz to 512 MHz frequency range and supports SINCGARS, Havequick II, VHF/UHF AM and FM, APCO P25 and both DAMA and the new Integrated Waveform for satellite communications.

09 Oct 12. The UK MoD has awarded the contract for their new programme providing innovative integration and experimentation in the land environment. In the Land Open Systems Architecture (LOSA) Research, Experimentation and Development (RED) programme, SELEX Galileo is providing prime leadership and management for a cross-industry delivery team, working in unison with the customer.

09 Oct 12. SELEX Galileo has been awarded new contracts totalling around 20m Euros to provide support and service solutions. The contracts relate mainly to the company’s Grifo radar and the Falco Unmanned Aerial System (UAS). The Grifo is one of SELEX Galileo’s most successful products and has sold more than 450 units worldwide while the Falco is the only UAS entirely developed, equipped and manufactured in Europe and is now in service with four international customers. Other contracts cover the logistical support of sensors and avionic components for fixed and rotary-wing aircraft.

10 Oct 12. BAE Systems Technology Solutions & Services, Inc., Rockville, Md. (N65236-13-D-4146); DRS Technical Services, Inc., Herndon, Va. (N65236-13-D-4147); General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc., Fairfax, Va. (N65236-13-D-4148); L-3 Command & Control Systems and Software, Inc., Mt. Laurel, N.J. (N65236-13-D-4149); and M.C. Dean, Inc., Dulles, Va. (N65236-13-D-4150) are each being awarded an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity, firm-fixed-price, multiple award contract for engineering, procurement, installation, maintenance and technical support for a wide variety of world-wide command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance initiatives and programs. These contracts include options, which, if exercised, would bring the cumulative value of these contracts to an estimated $750,000,000. Work will be performed in Central Europe (75 percent), other locations outside the continental U.S. (24 percent), and Charleston, S.C. (1 percent). Work is expected to be completed by October 2013. If all options are exercised, work could continue until October 2017. Contract funds will expire at the end of current fiscal 2013. The multiple award contracts were competitively procured by full and open competition via the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center e-Commerce Central website and the Federal Business Opportunities website, with seven offers received. Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Atlantic, Charleston, S.C. is the contracting activity.

08 Oct 12. The Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization (DITCO), the contracting arm of the DoD’s Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) has awarded connectivity services to Global Telecom & Technology, Inc. in support of their internal network infrastructure. Under the terms of the order by the U.S. Government Agency, GTT will provide private bandwidth solutions for the duration of these multi-year task orders. DITCO has purchased dedicated connectivity services to augment its network capabilities in the United States. These new task orders include multiple 10 Gigabit wavelengths to connect various sites in the Southwestern U.S. to the DISA Network. (Source: BUSINESS WIRE)
