03 Oct 12. BAE Systems has been awarded a £38m ($61m) contract to regenerate the Royal Marines’ fleet of BvS10 Viking all-terrain vehicles. The contract, signed with the UK Ministry of Defence, covers the refurbishment of 99 vehicles and brings them all to a common Mk2 mine-protected amphibious standard. The work on this high-priority programme will be carried out on BAE Systems’ new armoured vehicle production line in Örnsköldsvik, Sweden. Restoring the UK armoured amphibious capability will ensure a vital asset is available for disaster relief or military intervention in trouble spots. The regeneration programme is expected to be completed by the end of 2014.

02 Oct 12. Saab has received an order for data links. The order amounts to Euro 12.8m (approximately SEK 119m). Saab is a leading supplier in the area of high frequency and microwave systems used for both radar and data link applications. Saab’s data links supports frequency bands from VHF and upwards. Tailored solutions are provided for both ground based and airborne systems including radar integrated data links and light weight terminals. Deliveries will be made from the business area Electronic Defence Systems in Gothenburg during 2014-2018.

04 Oct 12. Alliant Techsystem Operations L.L.C., Independence, Mo., was awarded a fixed-price — economic-price-adjustment with a maximum value of $8,480,000,000. The award will provide for the procurement of small caliber rifle ammunition and for the operation, maintenance and modernization of Lake City Army Ammunition Plant. Work location will be determined with each order, with an estimated completion date of Sept. 30, 2022. The bid was solicited through the Internet, with two bids received. The U.S. Army Contracting Command, Rock Island, Ill., is the contracting activity (W52P1J-12-D-0078).

02 Oct 12. BAE Systems, York, Penn., was awarded a $97,603,626 firm-fixed-price contract. The award will provide for the reset services in support of Bradley A3 configured vehicles. Work will be performed in York, and Texarkana, Texas, with an estimated completion date of Nov. 28, 2014. One bid was solicited, with one bid received. The U.S. Army Contracting Command, Warren, Mich., is the contracting activity (W56HZV-10-G-0003).

02 Oct 12. DRS Test & Energy Management LLC, Huntsville, Ala., was awarded a $7,309,867 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract. The award will provide for the development of the driver switch indicator panel, power allocation transfer hub, solid state power controllers and upgrade of the digital vehicle distribution box. Work will be performed in Huntsville, with an estimated completion date of Aug. 30, 2013. The bid was solicited through the Internet, with one bid received. The U.S. Army Contracting Command, Warren, Mich., is the contracting activity (W56HZV-12-C-0405).

02 Oct 12. The U.S. Army Sustainment Command, Rock Island, Ill, has selected ITT Exelis as one of the prime contractors for the five-year, $23.5bn Enhanced Army Global Logistics Enterprise (EAGLE) program. The selection gives Exelis the opportunity to submit proposals on multiple task order requests in support of the Army’s future logistics requirements. The Army is expected to begin issuing task order requests against this new contract as early as mid-Oct. Organizations awarded eligibility to compete for the task orders will function under basic ordering agreements. EAGLE will soon replace the Army’s Field and Installations Readiness Support Team (FIRST) contract.
