Oct 03. ITT Industries Night Vision has won a contract from the UK MoD to supply Generation 3 night vision equipment to UK military forces. This contract is for the supply of 2176 systems which includes production and delivery of ITT’s F6015 Monocular Night Vision Device (MNVD), as well as night vision test sets, training/logistics support, and items to upgrade 3500 night vision equipment already in service. The key factor in the Company’s selection as the winner of the recent contract award was the high quality and high performance of ITT’s night vision equipment. ITT’s past performance on contracts demonstrated the Company’s customer responsiveness – specifically, its commitment to an accelerated production schedule that enabled UK forces to meet urgent operational requirements. In addition to ITT’s product quality and delivery performance, the rapid responsiveness of ITT’s engineering staff has further strengthened relations with the UK MoD.
24 Oct 03. The U. S. Navy has awarded General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems a $100,098,000 modification under a previously awarded cost-plus-incentive-fee contract to provide for the fiscal year 2004 TRIDENT II fire control omnibus contract. Work will be performed in Pittsfield, Mass., and is expected to be completed by December 2006.
22 Oct 03. The Information Technology E-Commerce and Commercial Contracting Center (ITEC4), in conjunction with the Army Small Computer Program (ASCP) under Program Executive Office, Enterprise Information Systems (PEO EIS), the Army Chief Information Officer (CIO/G6) and Network Enterprise Technology Command (NETCOM), awarded five (5) indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contracts for the Information Technology Enterprise Solutions (ITES), Functional Area 2 (FA-2), Enterprise Mission Support Services Solutions (EMS3) to Northrop Grumman Information Technology of McLean, VA, IBM Corp. of Bethesda, MD, Lockheed Martin Integrated Systems of Bethesda, MD and two small businesses QSS Inc. of Lanham, MD and NCI Information Systems of McLean, VA. Contract performance covers a three-year base period (including a 60 day phase-in), with two, two-year option periods. The contract maximum for each individual contract is $500,000,000 but this figure represents a combined maximum for all ITES FA-2 awards. Stated otherwise, ordering under all five ITES contract awards is subject, collectively, to a total of $500,000,000. The contracts were awarded for the contract minimum of $10,000.
27 Oct 03. The Sikorsky Aircraft Company has awarded GKN Aerospace Services a contract to develop and manufacture advanced, lightweight, high strength side panel skins for the RAH-66 Comanche reconnaissance and attack helicopter. Initially, this contract covers the production of 42 material qualification test panels and three Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) Forward Side Panels. There is an option for Sikorsky to extend the contract to cover a total of 73 production units, bringing the total value to some $1.5m.
23 Oct 03. General Dynamics Electric Boat has received a $23m contract modification to provide design assistance in the development and production of the Astute-class nuclear attack submarine for the Royal Navy. Electric Boat is a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD – News). The award modifies a contract initially announced in March 2003 and brings the total value of the work to $52.7m. Under the contract, Electric Boat will provide the resources required to complete timely, high-quality drawing outputs to support the production program of the Astute-class submarines. Ninety percent of the work will be performed in Groton; the remainder will be done in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, UK.
