CONTRACT NEWS IN BRIEF

18 Sep 03. Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS) has been awarded a $9.6m contract from Mykotronx, a division of Rainbow Technologies, to provide Presidio encryption modules. Mykotronx will embed the Presidio modules into its family of KIV-7 communications security (COMSEC) devices, which protect classified and sensitive digital data transmissions in the U.S. Government marketplace. A previous Presidio contract worth $6.4 million was signed between the two companies earlier this year.

10 Sep 03. Saab Training Systems, Huskvarna, Sweden has been awarded a contract worth SEK 100 million, exclusive of options and support, by the Raytheon-Lockheed Martin Javelin Joint Venture (USA). The development of the Saab BT46 JAVELIN laser simulator is a joint effort between Saab Training Systems and the Raytheon-Lockheed Martin Javelin Joint Venture, who is the prime contractor for delivery of the complete JAVELIN Combat Weapon and Training system to the British Army.

09 Sep 03. BAE SYSTEMS C4ISR has been awarded a contract by the United Kingdom MoD to supply a substantial number of its innovative self-standing fabric radomes to replace equipment recently reedeployed to meet operational requirements.

08 Sept 03. EDO Corp. received a $3.4m contract from the U.S. Navy for the development of unmanned minesweeper technology. The contract, which could total $4m including options, seeks to demonstrate the feasibility of such a device and covers integration of the technology into its fleets. The technology would be used in the high-speed Littoral combat ship, currently under development.
