CONTRACT NEWS IN BRIEF

06 May 03. United Defense L.P., Santa Clara, Calif., was awarded on
April 30, 2003, a $16,000,000 modification to a
cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for the Bradley Fighting Vehicle
and the Multiple Launch Rocket Systems. Work will be performed
in Santa Clara, Calif., and is expected to be completed by Nov.
21, 2005. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the
current fiscal year. This was a sole source contract initiated
on Dec. 28, 2000. The U.S. Army Tank-Automotive and Armaments
Command, Warren, Mich., is the contracting activity
(DAAE07-01-C-M011).

06 May 03. Crane Pumps and Systems Inc., Piqua, Ohio, was awarded
on May 1, 2003, a delivery order amount of $538,686 as part of a
$7,451,776.85 firm-fixed-price contract for Battlefield Override
Vale Kits. Work will be performed in Piqua, Ohio, and is
expected to be completed by Dec. 31, 2008. Contract funds will
not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were an
unknown number of bids solicited via the World Wide Web on Jan.
31, 2003, and two bids were received. The U. S. Army
Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command, Warren, Mich., is the
contracting activity (DAAE07-03-D-N060).

08 May 03. GM GDLS Defense Group L.L.C., Shelby Township, Mich., was
awarded on May 6, 2003, a $43,000,000 modification to a
cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for a contingency deployment option
for the Stryker vehicles. Work will be performed in various
locations outside of the continental U.S. to support the
deployment of the Stryker and is expected to be completed by
Aug. 29, 2004. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the
current fiscal year. This was a sole source contract initiated
on April 2, 2002. The U.S. Army Tank-Automotive and Armaments
Command, Warren, Mich., is the contracting activity
(DAAE07-02-C-B001).
