CAE has won contracts from prime contractor EADS CASA and the Commonwealth of Australia valued at approximately AUD$46m (C$39m) to provide a turnkey training capability and five years of support services for the Royal Australian Air Force’s (RAAF) new A330 Multi-Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) aircraft. Under terms of the contract with EADS CASA, CAE will provide an A330 MRTT full flight and mission simulator (FFMS), a new training facility, and a CAE Simfinity(R)-based mission systems trainer. In addition, CAE has signed an initial agreement directly with the Commonwealth of Australia to provide five years of support services for the A330 MRTT training systems. The provision of support services will be contracted as part of CAE’s existing Management and Support of Australian Defence Forces (ADF) Aerospace Simulators (MSAAS) contract.

Russia has won a contract to supply five Mi-17 military helicopters to Mexico and establish a training centre for pilots, Russia TV reported on 9 April. “In the framework of the agreement, a Russian training centre for pilots is to be built,” the television said, noting that Mexico’s existing Mi-17s are used in rescue work.
