Lockheed Martin UK announced that, in collaboration with Indra, MBDA, and Leonardo, we have been down selected for Concept Study 2 (Modularity) by the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA), following our successful work in Concept Study 1 (System Architecture).n This collaboration brings together deep European expertise to provide NATO with innovative, practical, and operationally ready solutions for next-generation Ground Based Air Defence (GBAD). The combined expertise of our team ensures interoperability, cost-effectiveness, and future-ready capabilities aligned to the evolving NATO threat environment.

15 Apr 26. Boeing Defence UK welcomes the Ministry of Defence’s award of a historic £879 million Rotary Wing Enterprise contract to deliver long-term maintenance and support for the UK’s Apache and Chinook fleets. The contract will sustain approximately 700 Boeing Defence UK jobs across Southern England and Scotland, including locations such as Middle Wallop, Odiham, Wattisham, Bristol, Gosport, Yeovil, and Almondbank. Additionally, around 500 jobs will be supported across the UK supply chain, including 300 roles at UK-based partner StandardAero, with plans to increase apprenticeships to as many as 50 over the next three years. 17 Apr 26. Indra Land Vehicles and IDV, a Leonardo Company, have reached a strategic agreement that forms the basis for delivering the new Marine Infantry Amphibious Combat Vehicle (VACIM), as requested by the Spanish Ministry of Defence within the framework of a Special Modernisation Programme (PEM). This contract constitutes a key milestone geared towards providing the Spanish Marine Infantry with crucial, cutting-edge, and fully interoperable capabilities, while reinforcing its potential for amphibious projection and its operations in coastal settings. The collaboration with IDV will allow for the integration of state-of-the-art platforms with high degrees of mobility, protection, and reliability for missions at sea and on land. 20 Apr 26. Denmark has selected of the European SAMP/T NG, the most advanced mobile ground-to-air defence system to ensure the airspace protection. Thales contributes to the success of the French variant of SAMP/T NG, the European air defence system based on Thales’s Ground Fire radar. This first export contract includes the supply of SAMP/T NG sections, which are scheduled to be delivered from 2028. Denmark officially becomes the third country, after France and Italy, to join the SAMP/T NG community. The system includes a Thales Ground Fire radar, the best radar in the field of surveillance and air defence, thanks to its unmatched performance: a range of up to 400 km and panoramic coverage at 360° and 90° elevation. The Ground Fire radar, in series production since early 2025, recently demonstrated outstanding performance during a qualification firing of the French version of the SAMP/T NG system.

 

23 Apr 26. Rheinmetall to supply the Bundeswehr with FV-014 loitering munition. Rheinmetall has received a major order from the Bundeswehr for FV-014 loitering munition systems. A contract to that effect was signed today in Koblenz. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in the first half of 2027, following qualification from the second quarter of 2026. The framework contract is worth billions, with the first call-off amounting to approximately €300m gross. The order will be booked in April 2026. The framework agreement optionally includes a five-figure number of FV-014 autonomous recce and strike drones. The FV-014 loitering munition system has a range of up to 100 km and is equipped with a 4 kg warhead and detonator mechanism. The drone can remain airborne for up to 70 minutes, monitoring targets until engaging on them. The system combines intelligence and firepower and is manufactured entirely within the EU.

14 April 2026. Indra has signed a new contract with Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace (KDA) for the supply of electronic warfare and radar systems for the six additional submarines of the Type 212CD programme to be incorporated by Germany and Norway into their fleets. This new agreement continues the programme already under way, under which Indra is supplying the same capabilities for another six submarines, also destined for these two countries. The company will equip the submarines with its electronic warfare system, based on full digital technology, and its advanced radar. Indra’s systems will provide critical capabilities for protection, surveillance and superior situational awareness, helping to ensure maximum operational effectiveness in highly demanding environments. 20 Apr 26. The NATO agency in charge of the NH90 programme, NAHEMA, has signed a contract with NHIndustries (a consortium between Airbus, Leonardo and GKN Aerospace) to launch the NH90 Block 2 architecture study. The Block 2 upgrade will include key structural improvements to the aircraft such as modular avionics, greater configuration commonality, improved maintenance and performance, as well as new capabilities in the fields of collaborative combat, connectivity and crewed-uncrewed teaming.

 

– 20 April 2026 – Thales Alenia Space, a joint venture between Thales (67%) and Leonardo (33%), today announced the signing of an industrial cooperation agreement with Airbus Defence and Space and RADMOR, to develop a geostationary defence telecommunications satellite dedicated to the Polish Ministry of Defence.

14 Apr 26 C-UAS Hub said today that Exail secures second USV contract for counter-drone role. Exail has secured a new contract for its DriX H-9 uncrewed surface vessel, marking the second order for the platform in recent months for defense applications. The vessel will be configured by a defense research organization for counter-UAS missions, incorporating sensors to detect, track and mitigate aerial threats. The system adapts counter-UAS technologies originally developed for land-based use to the maritime environment.

The DriX H-9 is designed as a long-range autonomous platform with modular payload capacity, allowing integration of mission-specific systems. Exail says this flexibility supports a range of roles from maritime security to domain awareness and hydrographic operations. The latest contract reflects growing interest in uncrewed surface vessels as part of multi-domain defense strategies, particularly as militaries look to extend counter-drone capabilities beyond land-based systems. 14 Apr 26 C-UAS Hub said today that M-tron secures $2.7m order supporting US counter-drone radar program. M-tron Industries Inc. has secured a $2.7 million order from a U.S. defense contractor to support a counter-UAS radar program. The contract includes the supply of high-performance radio frequency components, such as oven-controlled crystal oscillators, which are used to ensure signal stability and accuracy in radar and communications systems. While the contractor was not named, the company said the program is gaining traction within U.S. defense procurement channels as well as among allied nations. The effort is expected to remain in production beyond 2030, indicating a long-term demand signal for supporting technologies. Mtron produces RF components used across a range of defense applications, including radar, electronic warfare, communications and precision-guided systems. The latest order highlights the role of underlying electronic components in enabling counter-drone capabilities, particularly in detection and tracking systems. Oshkosh Defense LLC, an Oshkosh Corporation business, has received a $42.3 million order for trucks and associated kits, including the installation of Enhanced Container Handling Units (ECHUs), for the US Army Reserve under the Family of Heavy Tactical Vehicles (FHTV) contract. This award reinforces Oshkosh Defense’s continued commitment to equipping US Army Reserve units with versatile, mission-ready vehicles that support domestic emergency response, training, and operational readiness. 20 Apr 26. AeroVironment, Inc. (“AV”) (NASDAQ: AVAV), a global defense technology leader, today announced it was awarded a $14.6 million production contract by the U.S. Army for the VAPOR® Compact Long Endurance (CLE) unmanned aircraft system (UAS), its all-electric vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) platform, under the Company-Level Directed Requirement (CoLvl DR) Small Uncrewed Aircraft System (SUAS), Tranche 2. 20 Apr 26. General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) was selected by the U.S. Navy’s Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) PMA-281 for the Collaborative Autonomy Mission Planning and Debrief (CAMP) project. The initiative will advance mission planning capabilities, AI model management, and autonomy workflows for Autonomous Combat Platforms, culminating in a government sponsored demonstration targeting a 2026 Fleet exercise.

 

20 Apr 26. Raytheon Missiles and Defense, Tewksbury, Massachusetts, is awarded a $213,387,048 cost-plus-incentive-fee, cost-plus-fixed-fee, and cost-only modification to a previously-awarded contract (N00024-22-C-5522) to exercise options in support of combat system installation, integration, development, testing, correction, maintenance, and modernization of Zumwalt-class mission systems and mission system equipment. Work will be performed in Portsmouth, Rhode Island (39%); Tewksbury, Massachusetts (32%); Pascagoula, Mississippi (14%); Nashua, New Hampshire (9%); San Diego, California (5%); and Fort Wayne, Indiana (1%), and is expected to be complete by April 2027. Fiscal 2026 operations and maintenance (Navy) funds in the amount of $29,756,012 (59%); fiscal 2025 shipbuilding and conversion (Navy) funds in the amount of $8,260,020 (17%); fiscal 2026 other procurement (Navy) funds in the amount of $4,748,140 (10%); fiscal 2025 other procurement (Navy) funds in the amount of $3,664,044 (7%); fiscal 2025 research, development, test and evaluation (Navy) funds in the amount of $2,499,641 (5%); and fiscal 2026 research, development, test and evaluation (Navy) funds in the amount of $1,179,374 (2%), will be obligated at time of award, of which $32,255,653 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.

Raytheon Missiles and Defense, Andover, Massachusetts, was awarded a $904,600,000 modification (P00015) to contract W31P4Q-24-C-0024 to support the low-rate initial production of five Lower Tier Air and Missile Defense System units and six spares, including new production hardware, software, and services inherent to production and documentation for the Army. The modification brings the total cumulative face value of the contract to $5,357,669,576. Bids were solicited via the internet with one received. Work will be performed in Andover, Massachusetts, with an estimated completion date of Aug. 29, 2031. Fiscal 2026 Missile Procurement, Army funds in the amount of $725,878,580 were obligated at the time of the award. Army Contracting Command, Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, is the contracting activity.

 

April 21, 2026 – Textron Systems Corporation, a Textron Inc. (NYSE:TXT) company, announced today that it has been awarded a contract from IMPRES Technology Solutions, Inc., a federal IT solutions provider supporting defense and national security missions, to test the Eagle Passive Active Warning Survivability System (EPAWSS) sensor for the F-15 upgrade.

Under this $9.5M contract, which includes a 17-month performance period, Textron Systems will deliver multiple A2PATS® electronic warfare (EW) simulators and provide support, testing and spares to the 68th Electronic Warfare Squadron (EWS) at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida. A2PATS will be used to perform testing for various Foreign Military Sales (FMS) customers.

The A2PATS ― Advanced Architecture Phase Amplitude and Time Simulator ― will enable the Air Force and our allied nations to test the newest Radar Warning Receivers (RWRs) against advanced EW threats in high-fidelity, secure environments.

22  Apr 26. Elbit Systems Ltd. (NASDAQ: ESLT) (TASE: ESLT) (“Elbit Systems” or the “Company”) announced today, that during Operation “Roaring Lion”, the Company was awarded several contracts in an aggregate amount of approximately $200 million for the supply of advanced airborne munitions to the Israel Ministry of Defense (IMOD).

 

SEA

 

16 Apr 26. Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Richard Marles and his Japanese counterpart, Japanese Minister of Defense Shinjirō Koizumi, have officially inked the deal for the first of Australia’s next-generation general purpose frigates. Defence Connect can officially confirm that the first three vessels will be built by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and based on an upgraded version of Japan’s Mogami Class frigate design. The first ship is expected to enter service with the Royal Australian Navy in 2029. Under the agreement, the Commonwealth will work closely with the Japanese government and industry to deliver the initial ships, with a longer-term plan to shift construction to Western Australia. Future vessels are slated to be built at the Henderson Defence Precinct, subject to its consolidation, in line with the government’s commitment to continuous naval shipbuilding. Defence is also collaborating with Japanese industry and the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force to establish the sustainment and operational framework for the new frigates in Australia, with local industry expected to play a key role.
