01 Apr 26. Saab UK has received an order from the United Kingdom’s Ministry of Defence for the compact radar system Giraffe 1X. The total order value is approximately GBP 24 million. The radar systems are being produced at Saab UK’s Centre of Radar Excellence on its Fareham campus, reinforcing the UK’s sovereign capability in advanced radar technology. The radar systems have been ordered utilising funding from the UK administered NATO Security Assistance and Training Ukraine (NSATU) Trust Fund. The orders highlight the growing demand for Saab’s radar systems to strengthen Weapon Locating, Air Surveillance and Counter-Uncrewed Aerial Systems (C UAS) capabilities.

02 Apr 26. Saab has received an order from the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) for a mobile and modular counter-unmanned aerial system (C-UAS). The system is designed to protect the Swedish Armed Forces as well as civil infrastructure from threats posed by drones. The order value is approximately SEK 2.6 billion and deliveries will take place 2027-2028.

The U.S. Navy awarded Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) a contract modification to produce up to nine additional Surface Electronic Warfare Improvement Program (SEWIP) Block 3 systems, including the first shipset to be installed on an aircraft carrier. SEWIP Block 3 is a U.S. Navy program of record that uses advanced electronic attack to protect surface ships from missiles, improving ship survivability. Including this award, Northrop Grumman is on contract to deliver up to 24 SEWIP Block 3 systems to the U.S. Navy. Northrop Grumman is leveraging SEWIP Block 3 technology to develop Scaled Onboard Electronic Attack (SOEA), which brings electronic attack capabilities to ships that cannot support SEWIP Block 3. Northrop Grumman’s SEWIP Family of Systems protects sailors and ships by allowing them to avoid, mitigate or neutralize threats before they strike.

The Naval Air Systems Command has awarded Near Earth Autonomy a contract to develop an aircraft-agnostic autonomy solution for ship-to-shore and shore-to-ship operations through an Other Transaction Agreement (OTA) under the Naval Aviation Systems Consortium (NASC). 27 Mar 26. India purchases Russian air defence system. India’s Ministry of Defence announced today (March 27) that it has signed a contract for the procurement of the Tunguska Air Defence Missile System, valued at Rs 445 crore. The system, supplied by JSC Rosoboronexport of Russia will be used by the Indian Army against aerial threats including drones and cruise missiles. 31 Mar 26. Israel MOD Signs Approx $48m Deal with Elbit Systems for Tens of Thousands of Land Munitions. As part of its ongoing effort to bolster IDF operational endurance and readiness for the evolving campaign, the Israel Ministry of Defense (IMOD) today (Monday) announced a deal worth approximately $48 million (over NIS 150 million) to procure tens of thousands of 155mm artillery shells from Elbit Systems. The deal is being led by the Ministry’s Deputy Head of the Defense Procurement Directorate (DPD) for Land Procurement. The munitions will be manufactured at Elbit facilities nationwide, where thousands of employees are already working around the clock in three shifts at the Ministry’s direction. The deal forms part of a broader IMOD strategy, driven by Defense Minister Israel Katz and Director General Maj. Gen. (Res.) Amir Baram, to reduce reliance on external munitions sources and grow Israel’s domestic defense production base.
