14 Jan 26. Thales enhances NH90 helicopter pilots’ safety and efficiency with TopOwl Digital Display helmet. The NATO Helicopter Mgt Agency (NAHEMA) has awarded Thales a contract to develop advanced functions and capabilities for the TopOwl Digital Display (DD helmet), following an order of 31 NH90 helicopters by the Spanish Ministry of Defence. This contract, secured in collaboration with NHIndustries (NHI) and Safran, underscores a shared commitment to advancing defence innovation in support of the French Direction Générale de l’Armement (DGA) and the Spanish Dirección General de Armements y Material (DGAM). The TopOwl DD helmet is an evolution of the combat-proven TopOwl legacy, it now enables pilots to operate in all conditions of degraded visibility. The TopOwl DD headset, developed by Thales, integrates high-definition mission camera video feeds, including Safran’s Eurofl’Eye, with augmented reality and spatial alerts to enhance situational awareness and reduce pilot workload.

15 Jan 26. Arquus, a John Cockerill company, and Daimler Truck have been awarded the PL6T contract by the French Ministry of the Armed Forces. It covers the qualification and delivery of 7,000 new-generation military trucks for the French Land Forces. The term “PL6T” (Porteurs Logistiques 6 Tonnes) refers to the vehicle class designed for a payload of six tonnes. This major program aims to renew the logistics and operational capabilities of the French forces, in a context of accelerated modernization and rising requirements linked to high-intensity operations. The vehicles will be produced and delivered for more than 10 years.

 

13 Jan 26. Kopin Corporation (NASDAQ: KOPN), a leading provider of application-specific optical systems and high-performance microdisplays for defense and enterprise use, today announced a key milestone in bringing its DarkWAVE™ Module to market, with the first product order for the platform. Theon International (AMS: THEON), a global leader in night-vision and thermal imaging systems, and a strategic partner to Kopin, has placed a $1m development order to bring the 960p DarkWAVE module to “production readiness” in 2026, marking the transition of the technology from prototype to product availability for international defense customers. As a result of the above, Theon’s DARK-I will be developed, based on KOPIN’s DarkWAVE micro-display technology. DARK-I will be a next generation clip on, with Augmented Reality and Thermal Integration capabilities. DARK-I will have the ability to integrate with any model of already fielded Night Vision Goggles (NVGs), essentially converting those from traditional NVGs into Augmented Reality (AR) enabled systems, while also providing the option of providing thermal integration on top of AR. DARK-I will provide full-color symbology and full-motion digital interlace feeds, such as drone imagery, enabling soldiers with an enhanced vision of the battlefield without replacing existing night vision goggles using traditional image intensifier tubes. 13 Jan 26. Oshkosh Defense Europe B.V. together with Oshkosh Defense, LLC, an Oshkosh Corporation [NYSE: OSK] business, announced today that the Netherlands Ministry of Defence (MoD) has placed an order, valued between $25-30 m, for additional Dutch Expeditionary Patrol Vehicles (DXPV). The DXPVs, also known as the “Kaaiman,” will be equipped for future integration. The Netherlands continue to lead the way in defense vehicle modernization and allied interoperability. With Oshkosh’s open systems approach, the DXPV platform is designed to accommodate the integration of emerging technologies and mission systems. This approach enables the Netherlands to align modernization priorities efficiently while maintaining operational flexibility across a range of missions.

 

15 Jan 26. Teledyne FLIR Defense, part of Teledyne Technologies Incorporated (NYSE:TDY), announced that it has been awarded a contract by the U.S. Army worth up to $32 million to deliver and integrate advanced electro-optical (EO/IR) systems for the Stryker Infantry Carrier Vehicle (ICV) Recon Kit. The contract was awarded by the U.S. Army Contracting Command at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md., as part of a Foreign Military Sales agreement to support Bulgaria’s military modernization. Bulgaria is acquiring nearly 200 U.S.-made Stryker armored vehicles to replace its Soviet-era tactical vehicle fleet and enhance interoperability with NATO forces. Teledyne FLIR Defense will provide long range thermal imaging sights and radars for Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance and Targeting (ISR-T), adding advanced capability in all-weather conditions, day or night, to Bulgaria’s Strykers. Products featured in the effort include the TacFLIR® 280 HDEP EO/IR imaging system, Ranger® R20SS long-range radar, and Cameleon™ control software for tracking and targeting threats. Later phases of the vehicle modernization program will include FLIR Defense unmanned aircraft and launch systems, combined with Teledyne’s nuclear, biological and chemical detection sensors, to provide standoff identification of these deadly threats to Bulgarian Land Forces. 14 Jan 26. The French Armament General Directorate (DGA) has awarded a contract to Airbus Helicopters and Naval Group for the production of six VSR700 uncrewed aerial systems. The VSR700s will be operated from 2028 by the French Navy. The VSR700 will be delivered in an Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) configuration comprising a surveillance radar, an electro optical system and an AIS (Automatic Identification System) receiver. Naval Group will ensure its integration into the overall architecture of the ships and its interconnection with the combat system thanks to the Steeris® Mission System. The VSR700 is a dual use uncrewed aerial system, based on the crewed Cabri G2 from Hélicoptères Guimbal. The naval military version was developed and tested in the frame of the French Navy and DGA SDAM (Système de drone aérien de la Marine) programme, in cooperation with Naval Group. The VSR700 and its mission system have been extensively tested over land and at sea. Often deployed in complement of a crewed helicopter, the VSR700 can be used to extend a vessel’s intelligence gathering capabilities and conduct long endurance surveillance missions.

 

12 Jan 26. Airbus Defence and Space has been awarded a contract by Eutelsat to build a further 340 OneWeb low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites. Together with the previous batch of 100 satellites procured in December 2024, the total number of satellites ordered by Eutelsat amounts to 440. These new satellites will ensure operational continuity of the OneWeb constellation. The satellites will be manufactured at Airbus Defence and Space’s Toulouse facility on a newly installed production line, with delivery from the end of 2026. This is a further step for European sovereignty.

 

12 Jan 26. General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) – Germany’s Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support and the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) have announced the procurement of eight MQ-9B SeaGuardian® Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) from General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI). The program includes four Certifiable Ground Control Stations. First delivery is expected in 2028. Germany joins a growing list of NATO countries that have selected GA-ASI’s advanced MQ-9B RPA for its multi-domain capabilities with exceptionally long range and endurance. The platform provides pole-to-pole satellite control and de-icing capabilities to enable missions in cold climates. SeaGuardian features two multi-mode surface-search radars that deliver wide-area maritime surveillance, with an option to add Anti-Submarine Warfare capability. Additionally, MQ-9B’s in-house-developed Detect and Avoid System aids its ability to fly in unsegregated airspace for domestic civilian operations, making it highly versatile for operations from Germany. In 2025, MQ-9B became the first large RPA to obtain a Military Type Certificate from the UK’s Military Aviation Authority, certifying its safe operation without geographic restrictions, including over populous areas.

 

09 Jan 26. Israel Aerospace Industries Announces 3.1bn USD Contract for the Expansion of Arrow 3 missile defense system deal with Germany. The German Arrow deal is the largest defense export deal in Israel’s history, valued at more than 6.5 bn USD. Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) announced today that it signed a contract valued at approximately around 3.1 bn USD with Israel’s Ministry of Defense (IMOD) for the expansion of Germany’s procurement of the Arrow 3 air missile defense system. This announcement follows the IMOD’s announcement dated December 17, 2025, regarding the signing of the agreement with the German Federal Ministry of Defense.

 

12 Jan 26. Lockheed – Denmark – AGM-114R Hellfire Missiles. The State Department has made a determination approving a possible Foreign Military Sale to the Government of Denmark of AGM-114R Hellfire Missiles and related equipment for an estimated cost of $45 m. The Defense Security Cooperation Agency delivered the required certification notifying Congress. The Government of Denmark has requested to buy up to one hundred (100) AGM-114R Hellfire Missiles; three (3) AGM-114R Captive Air Test Missiles; six (6) Hellfire (Longbow) M299 Hellfire Launchers; two (2) MHU-191/M trailers; and three (3) BRU-14’s. The following non-MDE items will be included: containers, training aids, weapon software, training, support equipment, spare and repair parts, publications and technical documentation, transportation; U.S. Government and contractor engineering, technical and logistical support services; and other related elements of logistical and program support. The estimated total cost is $45m. This proposed sale will support the foreign policy goals and national security objectives of the United States by improving the security of a NATO ally that is a force for political stability and economic progress in Europe. The proposed sale will improve Denmark’s capability to meet current and future threats by ensuring aviation forces’ interoperability with United States and other allied forces as well as their ability to contribute to missions of mutual interest by delivering follow-on support and sustainment. By operating the AGM-114R Hellfire Missiles, Denmark contributes to global readiness and enhances the capability for the U.S. forces operating globally alongside them. Denmark will have no difficulty absorbing these articles and services into its armed forces. The proposed sale of this equipment and support will not alter the basic military balance in the region. The principal contractor will be Lockheed Martin Missile and Defense, Ocala, FL. 15 Jan 26. The French Army’s 3rd Division has bought Systematic’s command and control system SitaWare Headquarters – the same solution procured by NATO for its Land Operations two years ago. The acquisition forms part of a wider rollout for France which is now deploying SitaWare Headquarters across the whole of its Army. The Danish command and control solution will now be the primary coordination and planning tool for the division’s and brigade headquarters’ operations. The decision follows an extensive evaluation, where SitaWare was assessed as the most suitable system to support the French Army’s and NATO’s operational requirements. And French forces were quick to adopt the system, which is now being implemented more broadly across the Army.

The Missile Defense Agency (MDA) has made an additional 340 awards under the Scalable Homeland Innovative Enterprise Layered Defense (SHIELD) multiple award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract, with a ceiling of $151,000,000,000 following the initial 1,014 awards announced Dec. 2, 2025, and the second announcement of 1,086 awards announced Dec. 18, 2025. SHIELD allows MDA and other Department of Defense entities to rapidly compete orders under one flexible enterprise vehicle. Performance will occur across the United States. This contract encompasses a broad range of work areas that allows for the rapid delivery of innovative capabilities to the warfighter with increased speed and agility, leveraging artificial intelligence and machine learning enabled applications where pertinent, and maximizing use of digital engineering, open systems architectures, model-based systems engineering, and agile processes in the acquisition, development, and sustainment of these capabilities. If all options are exercised, work will continue through December 2035.  No funds will be obligated on the base award; funds will be obligated at the order level.  This contract was competitively procured via the System for Award Management website, with 2,463 offers received. MDA, Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, Alabama, is the contracting activity (HQ085925RE001).

 

13 Jan 26. Joint Interagency Task Force Announces First Replicator 2 Purchase to Counter Homeland Drone Threats. Joint Interagency Task Force 401 announced Jan. 11 its first acquisition under the Replicator 2 initiative, awarding a contract for two advanced DroneHunter F700 systems, which are expected to be delivered by April. This acquisition provides the task force with enhanced capabilities to counter the growing threat posed by small unmanned aerial systems. It also marks a significant step in the War Department’s strategy to rapidly field counter-unmanned aerial systems to protect military installations and critical infrastructure across the United States.  (Source: U.S. DoD)

 

15 Jan 26. Oshkosh Defense LLC, an Oshkosh Corporation [NYSE: OSK] business, announced today that U.S. Army Contracting Command – Detroit Arsenal (ACC-DTA) has placed a $53 million order for Common Bridge Transporters (CBTs) under the Family of Heavy Tactical Vehicle (FHTV) V program. Built on Oshkosh’s proven heavy tactical truck architecture, the CBT allows units to keep combat formations advancing when terrain and threat conditions complicate mobility. The CBT, engineered to transport, launch, and retrieve bridge bays and bridge erection boats (BEBs), extends the Army’s mobility by delivering and positioning bridge assets that keep maneuver forces moving across wet gaps. 12 Jan 26. RENK America today announced the award of a U.S. Army contract with a total potential value up to $75.5m over a five-year period. Under the Cost-Plus Fixed Fee (CPFF) contract, RENK America will provide System Technical Support (STS) services for the Hydro-Mechanical Powered Transmission (HMPT), supporting multiple critical U.S. Army platforms including the Bradley Fighting Vehicle (BFV), Armored Multi-Purpose Vehicle (AMPV), Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS), and Paladin Self Propelled Howitzer System (SPHS). The scope of work includes engineering and technical services, program management, and worldwide field service representative support to enhance operational reliability and sustainment. The contract establishes a long-term framework vehicle, with work authorized incrementally through individual tasking over the five-year contract term.

12 Jan 26. General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT), a business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE:GD), announced today that it was awarded the Ship and Air Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Combat, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) Systems Support (SACSS) contract to continue modernizing the U.S. Navy fleet. The $988 m contract, awarded in December, has a one-year base period, four one-year options and a six-month option. Under the contract, GDIT will modernize and integrate C5ISR systems to enhance the operational effectiveness and readiness of naval forces. The company will provide integration, engineering, procurement, logistics and installation services onboard all classes of surface combatant ships, including guided missile ships, aircraft carriers, Coast Guard vessels, manned and unmanned aircraft and shore stations. 15 Jan 26. The U.S. Navy has awarded BAE Systems a $62m contract to begin a new capability in the current depot line at the Fleet Readiness Center Southwest in San Diego, California for the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye aircraft interrogator system. The effort will provide testing, troubleshooting, diagnostic, and repair capabilities for the AN/APX-122A Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) interrogator system. The interrogator system provides enhanced identification and enables faster decision making to distinguish between allied forces and potential threats in contested scenarios, giving operators the situational awareness they need to complete their missions. The E-2D carries out a variety of tactical missions that include command and control, border security, search and rescue, and missile defense. BAE Systems will develop a depot test station within its facilities to perform diagnostics and repairs on critical modules within the E-2D IFF system and provide sustainment support once delivered to the U.S. Navy at the Fleet Readiness Center Southwest.

12 Jan 26. Axon Vision (TASE: AXN), a leading provider of AI-powered solutions for defense applications, announced today that it has received an order from Leonardo DRS for the delivery of its new AI-based system for C-UAS missions. Valued at approximately $350,000, the contract covers the delivery of an initial set of systems that provides end-to-end detection, classification, tracking, and interception of aerial threats (C-UAS) and other rapidly evolving threats requiring immediate response. 08 Jan 26. Elsight receives Halo order from US public safety customer. Elsight has received a USD 460,000 purchase order from a United States public safety sector customer for its Halo connectivity platform.  Halo creates a single bonded tunnel of the available multi-links from LTE, 5G, SatCom and RF links to provide continuous uptime and connection between a drone and ground control stations. In stationary, portable or mobile positions, the Halo can hold up to 4LTE/5G modems and optionally RF and SAT links via an ETH/UART port. Elsight says the new purchase order illustrates that public safety is a leading early-use market for beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) drone operations. 15 Jan 26. Mercury Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: MRCY, www.mrcy.com), a global technology company that delivers mission-critical processing to the edge, today announced contract awards totaling more than $60 m for work associated with two critical U.S. space and strategic weapons programs. In December, Mercury was awarded a development contract extension in support of a large strategic weapons program that leverages the company’s expertise in strategic radiation-hardened data and signal processing. Initially awarded in 2023, Mercury’s development work on the program will now continue through 2031 and include the delivery of additional flight-testing units. In December, Mercury was also awarded a new contract from an innovative space systems prime contractor to produce subsystems for a U.S. national security space program. This is the second customer to adopt Mercury’s radiation-tolerant wideband storage and processing subsystem that features AMD Versal™ AI Core series FPGAs and 4.5 terabyte data storage drives, which were recently released into production. Mercury received the first contract for the subsystem in 2024 for another U.S. satellite program. The critical design review for that satellite subsystem was recently completed, validating that it meets all requirements and is ready to enter production.

14 Jan 26. Birdon secures $125m Army contract to design, build amphibious vehicles logistics. Australian-owned maritime engineering company Birdon has signed a $125 m contract to design and build one prototype and 15 amphibious vehicles – logistics for the Australian Army. The fleet of amphibious vehicles will replace the Australian Army’s ageing Lighter Amphibious Resupply Cargo vehicle, under the LAND 8710 Littoral Manoeuvre Program. The new vehicles are expected to significantly enhance the Australian Defence Force’s amphibious capabilities with improved speed, safety, reliability and performance. (Source: Defence Connect)

Indian MoD “awards Indrajaal a USD10m C-UAS port defence contract.” The Indian Ministry of Defence (MoD) has awarded a 100 crore (USD11m) contract to Hyderabad-based Indrajaal for the supply of multi-layered autonomous anti-drone systems to deploy its multi-layered autonomous anti-drone systems to protect key Indian Army and Indian Navy installations. “Indrajaal will be deployed by naval ports on the western seaboard, while the Indian Army will deploy it on the eastern border as well as other strategic locations,” Kiran Raju, founder and CEO, Indrajaal, said, in an MSN news article. In May last year the company launched its Indrajaal Infra product, designed to safeguard high-value critical infrastructure such as nuclear power plants, oil refineries, ports, airports, and energy grids from drone-based attacks. “Built on Indrajaal’s advanced SkyOS™ platform, Indrajaal Infra offers autonomous, real-time airspace security across vast areas up to 4,000 sq km,” said the company in a press release. “The system integrates AI-driven threat detection with a layered defence approach — combining sensors, spoofers, jammers, and command intelligence — to deliver 24/7 autonomous protection against rogue drones.” The system was deployed in 2025 in the naval ports of Gujarat and Karnataka, said the company. 14 Jan 26. Thai army signs deal to procure additional VN1 vehicles from China. The Royal Thai Army (RTA) has signed an agreement with China North Industries Corporation (Norinco) to procure additional VN1 8×8 infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs). The deal was signed on 12 January in Beijing and announced on social media one day later by the Thai embassy’s Office of the Defence and Army Attaché. According to the attaché, the agreement was signed by senior officials from the RTA and Norinco and constituted a “signing ceremony for the RTA’s VN1 armoured vehicle project”. The attaché said the agreement is a government-level accord, with the state-owned Norinco representing the Chinese state. Images released by the attaché also showed senior RTA officials visiting Norinco facilities in Beijing. No additional details about the deal were provided by the attaché. A spokesperson for the Royal Thai Armed Forces had not responded to Janes request for comment at the time of publication. Funding for the new VN1 procurement was sourced from Thailand’s 2025 defence budget, which allocated about THB1 bn (USD32 m) to meet a requirement to procure additional IFVs for front-line RTA operations.The requirement for additional wheeled armoured vehicles was also outlined in the RTA’s most recent white paper, which was released in July 2024. The RTA has previously taken delivery of several VN1 batches from Norinco, with purchases featuring variants including IFVs, mortar vehicles, command vehicles, and rescue vehicles and ambulances. 15 Jan 26. Norwegian company H. Henriksen has announced that it will supply its Henriksen Multi Lightweight Influence Sweep (HEMLIS) system to the Indonesian Navy (TNI AL), marking the first commercial sale of the system outside Europe. According to the company, multiple HEMLIS systems will be delivered and integrated on unmanned surface vessels (USVs) supplied by French company Exail (previously known as ECA Group). The delivery to the Indonesian Navy will be handled by PT Agrapana Nugraha Katara, which is a known local partner of German shipbuilder Abeking & Rasmussen. H. Henriksen stated that HEMLIS will add a modern, modular unmanned minesweeping capability to the Indonesian Navy’s existing mine countermeasures (MCM) toolbox. The system is designed for both manned and unmanned operations and can be scaled for use in confined waters or as part of larger task group operations. It uses influence sweeping techniques to safely clear naval mines while reducing risk to crews and platforms. HEMLIS has also been installed on Royal Norwegian Navy Alta-class minesweepers.
