06 Jan 26. FN UK has been awarded the Police Primary Carbine System Framework Agreement with the new FN 15 Advanced Semi-Automatic Rifle (ASR). The fully ambidextrous weapon was developed by FN to meet the needs of Law Enforcement Officers with the programme being accelerated to meet the timelines for the UK Police tender. The FN 15 ASR is unique in that it is fully symmetrically ambidextrous; it provides true ambidextrous controls without drastically changing the ergonomics desired by professional users. The movements needed to activate the controls are the same for right-handed or left-handed operation. FN has developed a family of law enforcement products that combine reliable and durable designs, manufactured to the industry’s highest quality standards. 06 Jan 26, Chess Dynamics, part of the Cohort plc Group, has been awarded a £1.4m order from a major weapon system prime for a number of Hawkeye EOSS systems. The equipment will be integrated into mobile air defence units, providing the necessary advanced electro-optical targeting of hostile air-borne threats. The Hawkeye EOSS delivers long range detection, identification and tracking through a combination of high resolution optical and thermal imaging sensors, advanced AI-enhanced tracking algorithms and a high-precision positioner designed for operation in demanding environments. The order reflects the rapid shift in defence requirements away from static installations towards agile, expeditionary sensor systems.
06 Jan 26. Elbit Systems Ltd has been awarded new contracts, totaling $150m, for its Iron Fist Active Protection System (APS) by BAE Systems Hägglunds for integration into CV90 Infantry Fighting Vehicles (IFVs) operated by European NATO member states. These new awards follow a major milestone achieved in September 2025, when Elbit Systems conducted a high-profile live-fire demonstration in Europe, showcasing Iron Fist’s ability to defeat advanced kinetic energy (KE) threats. During the trial, the system successfully intercepted more than a dozen 120mm KE APFSDS tank rounds – a rare accomplishment in the APS field. The event, attended by senior military and defense industry representatives, validated Iron Fist’s effectiveness against some of the most challenging anti-armor threats faced on modern battlefields.
09 Jan 26. Rheinmetall to supply nine state-of-the-art Puma training simulators to the Bundeswehr – order value €118.5m. Germany’s armoured infantry will soon receive nine training systems for firing and combat training (AGSP in German) for the Puma Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV). The Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support (BAAINBw) has awarded a corresponding delivery contract to Projekt System & Management GmbH (PSM), a joint venture between KNDS Germany and Rheinmetall, on 19 December 2025. The total gross volume of the procurement is €119.5m, of which €118.5m are assigned to Rheinmetall. Rheinmetall Electronics GmbH is playing a key role as subcontractor in the project. The first firing and combat training devices are scheduled for delivery in mid-2027. Additionally, the existing AGSP development model will be upgraded to the new series standard, and transportion containers will be provided for all systems. Rheinmetall developed the AGSP as a completely new training system for mechanised infantry forces. In September of 2025, the Office for Army Development declared its readiness to take-over the new AGSP training system. The AGSP is a highly realistic simulator that recreates the battlefield experience for armoured infantry platoons. Its precise replication of key elements, such as vehicle logic, ballistics, haptics and aiming behaviour, enables highly realistic training in line with the ‘train as you fight’ concept. Each system consists of a control, evaluation and monitoring station (LAKS in German) as well as of four authentically replicated vehicle cabins, which are housed in twelve 20ft containers. The facility is fully relocatable. Its modular architecture allows for maximum flexibility: all central components, such as server racks and driver cabins, are mounted on rail systems and can be easily replaced or updated as required. Maintenance and repair work have also been greatly simplified, as central systems are now accessible from the outside. This eliminates the need for costly return to the plant as well as downtime and logistical effort.
03 Jan 26. Rheinmetall – The Bundeswehr has once again placed an order with Rheinmetall for 30mm ammunition for Infantry Fighting Vehicles (IFVs). The German Armed Forces placed the order for additional cartridges as part of an extended framework contract concluded in 2022. The new order is worth several hundred m euros. In December 2022, the Bundeswehr signed a framework contract with Rheinmetall for the supply of 30mm x 173 ammunition for the Puma IFV. This framework contract, which runs until 2029, has now been extended in terms of delivery quantity and order volume. It provides for the delivery of several hundred thousand cartridges worth around €1 bn. At the same time, a medium six-figure quantity of ammunition was retrieved. The order intake amounts to several hundred m euros. To strengthen its Puma fleet, the German Armed Forces recently commissioned joint venture partners Rheinmetall and KNDS Deutschland to supply 200 additional IFV’s. The Puma is equipped with Rheinmetall’s MK30-2/ABM (Airburst Munition) machine gun. It combines a high rate of fire with programmable state-of-the-art ammunition technology. This makes the MK30-2/ABM an extremely reliable and uncompromising weapon system. With an effective range of over 2,000 metres, the MK30-2/ABM is extremely powerful against land, air and sea targets.
09 Jan 26. Saab has received an order from the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration, FMV, for the Trackfire Remote Weapon Station (RWS). The order value is approximately SEK 1,5bn and deliveries will take place 2026-2028. The order was booked in Q4 2025. The FMV order will serve the Swedish Army and the Amphibious Battalion 2030, which is an ongoing defence project aimed at developing the future amphibious forces within the Swedish Armed Forces.

09 Jan 26. Exail announces a new order worth approximately 40m Euros for several hundred additional K-Ster mine neutralization vehicles placed via then NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA). This order is part of the framework agreement established in 2024, which allows all the Alliance navies to procure these systems rapidly through a streamlined acquisition process. This procurement confirms the strong momentum among European navies to comprehensively modernize their mine countermeasure (MCM) capabilities through the adoption of autonomous systems. Under the first contract, Elbit Systems will equip a European country’s aircraft fleet with its cutting‑edge DIRCM technology, providing an advanced layer of protection for high‑value airborne platforms. The additional orders include the supply of DIRCM systems for the transport aircraft fleet of European NATO member countries, enhancing operational safety and survivability for strategic airlift missions. The United States’ Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has announced several grant awards under its counter-uncrewed aerial systems programme, which provides funding to enhance state, local, tribal and territorial capabilities to detect, identify, track or monitor uncrewed aerial systems (UAS). The total funding available for Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 is USD 250 m. The grants announced on December 30, 2025 are as follows:

06 Jan 26. Cuashub.com said today that FEMA awards $250m to boost drone security ahead of FIFA World Cup 2026. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced in late December 2025 a historic $250m grant to enhance drone security measures across the United States ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026. The funding, distributed through the new Counter Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-UAS) Grant Program, will go to 11 states hosting World Cup matches and the National Capital Region. The initiative aims to strengthen capabilities to detect, identify, track, and mitigate drones. This effort aligns with the Trump-Vance Administration’s commitment to safeguarding public events from drone-related threats, as outlined in the Executive Order on Restoring American Airspace Sovereignty. The C-UAS Grant Program was created under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act of 2025, signed into law by President Trump in July 2025. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) will provide $500 m over two years to bolster state and local drone defense capabilities. December 2025’s $250m allocation marks the first phase, targeting states hosting World Cup matches and the National Capital Region, which will also host America 250 celebrations. 06 Jan 26. Cuashub.com said today that Allen Control Systems secures U.S. Army contract for Bullfrog autonomous weapon station integration. Allen Control Systems (ACS) has announced that the US Army Applications Laboratory (AAL) has awarded the company a $1.5m contract to develop an integration readiness plan for its Bullfrog autonomous weapon station across five of the Army’s most widely deployed combat vehicles. The agreement includes potential options worth up to $4.5m. This initiative is a collaborative effort involving the Army’s Combat Capabilities Development Command Ground Vehicle Systems Center (GVSC) and the 1st Cavalry Division’s Transformation in Contact (TiC) brigade. The plan will assess Bullfrog’s deployment on several critical Army platforms.

This contract provides all mission essential non-personal services, administrative, financial, and managerial resources necessary on a continuous twenty-four hours-a-day/seven days-a-week basis to support the missile warning, missile defense, and space domain awareness missions. Work will be performed at Cape Cod Space Force Station, Massachusetts; Beale Air Force Base, California; Cheyenne Mountain Space Force Station, Colorado; Pituffik Space Base, Greenland; Clear Space Force Station, Alaska; and Royal Air Force Fylingdales, England. The Horstman Group, a RENK Group company, has been selected to supply its advanced Hydrostrut® suspension technology to V2X Inc. for delivery to the United States Marine Corps (USMC’s) Amphibious Combat Vehicle (ACV). Following a V2X led rapid integration project, the USMC was able to field test the Horstman Hydrostrut® units. First Hydrostrut® production orders were issued by the USMC to V2X and Horstman within 15 months of Horstman’s offer to supply product for testing. Current production orders are scheduled to continue through December 2026. The speed with which this award was completed is a tribute to the open cooperation that occurred between the senior leadership and technical teams amongst the Horstman Group, USMC, and V2X Inc.

05 Jan 26. AgEagle Aerial Systems (EagleNXT) has sold six eBee TAC tactical mapping drones to the US Army. The transaction was conducted through the company’s German commercial partner, Dronivo. Each drone is equipped with S.O.D.A. 3D and Duet M sensors, which include full real-time kinematic (RTK)/post-processed kinematic (PPK) activation. The US Army intends to utilise these drones for a range of missions requiring accurate tactical mapping. According to EagleNXT, the eBee TAC drones are capable of achieving centimetre-level precision without the routine use of extensive ground control points, due to their RTK/PPK-enabled systems. The S.O.D.A. 3D sensor provides both nadir and oblique imagery for 3D modelling, while the Duet M sensor enables RGB and multispectral data capture for vegetation analysis and environmental monitoring. Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) was awarded a $94.3m contract by the U.S. Navy to develop and qualify a new 21-inch diameter second-stage solid rocket motor (SSRM) for the Navy’s extended-range missile programs to deter and defeat fast-moving air, surface and hypersonic threats. The SSRM is a low-risk, rapidly developed design that enables the Navy to quickly and cost-effectively field an extended-range hypersonic defense capability. The high-performance 21” diameter rocket motor is engineered to significantly extend range and speed across various missions, including air warfare, surface warfare, land strike, and ballistic missile defense. The Navy has expressed interest for potential deployment of Northrop Grumman’s extended range propulsion technology across various platforms. Continued design and low-rate initial production of 60 units for testing and delivery will take place at Northrop Grumman’s Propulsion Innovation Center in Elkton, Md.

Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) was competitively awarded the U.S. Marine Corps’ Marine Air-Ground Task Force Uncrewed Expeditionary Tactical Aircraft (MUX TACAIR) Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA). This award combines Northrop Grumman’s uncrewed capabilities and autonomous leadership with Kratos’ Valkyrie uncrewed aerial system to work alongside crewed fighters to provide air dominance in high-threat environments. Northrop Grumman will develop and rapidly deliver platforms that include: Advanced Mission Kit: Northrop Grumman’s cost-effective mission kit is inclusive of sensors and software-defined technologies designed specifically for uncrewed aircraft. The mission kit’s flexible technology can perform various kinetic and non-kinetic effects, making the platform a combat-ready asset. General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) has secured the first task order under the US Air Force’s (USAF) Base Infrastructure Modernisation (BIM) indefinite delivery indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract. 06 Jan 26. ParaZero Technologies has received its first purchase order for the DefendAir counter-uncrewed aerial systems (CUAS) from an unnamed main Israeli defence entity. This marks the company’s initial direct contract with this customer for its anti-drone technology. The agreement provides for the delivery of DefendAir units, as well as integration and training support intended to ensure the systems reach operational status quickly. 06 Jan 26. Manila has awarded South Korean shipbuilder HD Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) a contract worth PHP34.4bn (US$585m) to construct two more frigates for the country’s navy. A notice of award was issued on 22 December 2025, with a formal contract signed four days later. When weapons are included, the pair of frigates will cost approximately PHP43 bn. They are due to be completed in the second half of 2029. Capable warships are important for the Philippines, as the government faces down aggressive Chinese behaviour and illegal territorial claims in the South China Sea. Serco, the international provider of critical services to governments, has reinforced its position in Asia Pacific with contract wins and extensions in the defence sector in Australia, demonstrating Serco’s ability to expand its footprint and maintain trusted partnerships as demand for defence services increase. Serco has successfully rebid the HMAS Watson Navy Synthetic Warfare Training contract for the Royal Australian Navy. The total contract value is more than £80 m (over AUD$160m) if all extensions are exercised. The initial five-year term has five, one-year extension options. At Watson in Sydney, Serco has trained Maritime Warfare Officers since 2012, delivering high-quality simulator-based maritime warfare training and related support services. Separately, Serco has been awarded a contract extension to provide in-service support of Mini Typhoon, Typhoon and Toplite (MTTT) systems to the Royal Australian Navy. The contract is worth around £5 m (c.AUD$10m) over three years, with an option to extend for a further two years. Serco has also been chosen as preferred bidder to design and build a new freight vessel for World Heritage listed Lord Howe Island, as part of the New South Wales Government’s Critical Infrastructure Program. The vessel will be built to service the Island’s residents and visitor economy for the next 40 years and its design will enhance biosecurity controls to help provide critical protection for the native plant, bird and insect species present.

The Australian government has allocated nearly A$40m ($26m) to support new technologies and AI, aiming to enhance the Australian Defence Force’s (ADF) decisions making amid complex information conditions. The funding comes through the Advanced Strategic Capabilities Accelerator’s (ASCA) Emerging and Disruptive Technologies (EDT) programme. ASCA signed 14 contracts intended to advance Decision Advantage across air, land, space, maritime and cyber operations. According to the government, Decision Advantage refers to making faster and more effective decisions than potential adversaries. It is identified as one of six main capability effects in the 2024 National Defence Strategy. Funding recipients include a mix of universities and private companies based in states including New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia, and the Australian Capital Territory. Recipients of the contracts include the Australian National University, which received A$1.02m, Curtin University with A$3.17m, Macquarie University and Western Sydney University jointly receiving A$3.29m, and the University of New South Wales with A$3.22m. ImageSat International (TASE: ISI), a global leader in space-based intelligence solutions, announces that the Access to Space consortium, in which ISI is a member, has been selected by the Israel Space Agency at the Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology and the Israel Innovation Authority to establish and operate Israel’s national R&D space laboratory for the accelerated development of space technologies. The consortium, led by Israeli space company Creation Space and joined by leading national academic institutions, including the Technion (Israel Institute of Technology) and Ben-Gurion University, will receive approximately 16 m USD in governmental participation, including around 10.5m USD in grants, for the establishment and operation of the laboratory.
