ISTEC Services Limited, a British company with 36 years of operationally proven experience in the design, manufacture and supply of complex weapon integration solutions and smoke discharger systems (SDS) for military platforms, has recently secured a 4-year contract for the supply of weapon mount spares across all 3 services via the Babcock Service Provision and Transformation Contract (SPTC).

17 Dec 25. STS Defence Awarded Sensor Health Channel Management Phase 2. STS Defence has been awarded a contract to further develop and demonstrate software algorithms for the Submarine Delivery Agency (SDA), following on from a previous Phase 1 project investigating Sensor Channel Health Monitoring (SCHM). The Phase 2 contract award will mature the SCHM algorithms to TRL 5, working alongside the Royal Navy’s FASTER programme.  STS Defence was awarded the previous Phase 1 study to investigate SCHM for the SDA in May 2022. During this phase we developed a set of SCHM algorithms and demonstrated a prototype to TRL 4, using our background IPR and expertise in developing machine learning algorithms on previous Innovate UK-funded projects. This included a strong understanding of sensor behaviour in challenging environments, analysis of vibration data, and experience of building a synthetic dataset and environment for evaluating our algorithm candidates.

11 Dec 25. Avon Protection has received a new European order for FM50 respirators and FM61EU filters via the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) contract vehicle. The order, worth approximately $20.6 m, will be delivered over FY2026 and FY2027. Avon Protection’s FM50 respirator and FM61EU filter, is designed to protect the wearer from CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear) threats in line with latest NATO requirements. Avon Protection was awarded the 10-year NSPA FM50 contract in 2020, enabling NATO nations and partners to purchase the FM50 respirator, MP-PAPR, ST53, filters and related accessories. 17 Dec 25. Bittium Wireless Ltd, a subsidiary of Bittium Corporation, has received a significant purchase order for tactical communications system’s products, life cycle services, and testing systems from its Austrian cooperation partner Cancom Austria AG. Cancom Austria acts as the integrator of Bittium’s advanced communications solutions as part of the Austrian Armed Forces’ tactical communications network. The purchase order is valued at approximately EUR 18.5m. The products will be supplied during the years 2025-2026, and life cycle services will be provided during the years 2025-2038. The purchase order is a continuation of a substantial purchase contract signed in 2018 which started the renewal of the Austrian Armed Forces’ tactical communications with a complete IP-based system. Since 2019, Bittium has supplied its software-defined Bittium Tactical Wireless IP Network™ (TAC WIN) as the core of the network, forming the backbone for the Army’s broadband communications. In addition, Bittium has supplied Bittium Tough Comnode™ devices and Bittium Tough VoIP™ solutions to enable voice and messaging across the network. Now the coverage of the Austrian tactical communications network will be expanded and Cancom Austria will integrate more products of the TAC WIN system, as well as Tough Comnode devices, and accessories to the network entity. The life cycle services included in the purchase order consist of support and maintenance for the devices and software, and test systems are provided to maintain and develop local testing capability.

 

17 Dec 25.  Bittium Wireless Ltd, a subsidiary of Bittium Corporation, has received purchase orders from the Finnish Defence Forces for Bittium Tough SDR Handheld and Vehicular radios and related accessories, and for further development work for software and related services. The total value of the purchase orders received now is approximately EUR 15.9m, of which the share of Tough SDR order is approximately EUR 12.4m. Product deliveries and development work will take place during 2025 and 2026. Bittium Tough SDR radios will replace the Finnish Defence Forces’ existing stock of analogue tactical radios in stages with modern software-defined radios enabling broadband tactical communications. The radios will also offer significantly better performance for the Finnish Defence Forces compared to the earlier generation digital tactical radios. The Tough SDR radios are compatible with the software-defined Bittium Tactical Wireless IP Network™ (TAC WIN) system used by the Finnish Defence Forces for forming a backbone for broadband tactical communications.  The solutions come together as a seamless network that enables resilient communications for all troops across domains and military branches. Part of the performance of the software-defined radios is created with the software used in the radios and software development enables performance enhancements for the radios throughout their whole life cycle.

 

16 Dec 25. DroneShield has received a contract for $49.6m from an in-region European reseller that is contractually required to distribute the products to a European military end-customer. The contract is for handheld counter-drone systems, associated accessories, and software updates. DroneShield has a large portion of this stock on-the-shelf and expects to complete all deliveries in Q1 2026. Cash payments are also expected to be fully received in Q1 2026. No additional material conditions need to be satisfied.

 

16 Dec 25. Elbit Systems Ltd. (NASDAQ: ESLT) (TASE: ESLT) (“Elbit Systems” or the “Company”) announced today that it was notified that the Hellenic Parliament and KYSEA (Government Council for National Security) have approved a budget for the purchase of the Company’s PULS rocket artillery system for the Hellenic Armed Forces. Considering the above, Elbit Systems anticipates receiving a contract in an amount that is material to the Company.  The anticipated contract award is contingent, among others, on completion of commercial negotiations with the Hellenic Ministry of National Defense.  Elbit Systems’ PULS provides a comprehensive and cost-effective solution capable of launching unguided rockets, precision-guided munitions, and missiles with various ranges. The PULS launcher is fully adaptable to existing wheeled and tracked platforms, enabling significant reductions in maintenance and training costs.

 

15 Dec 25. Filtronic plc (AIM: FTC), the designer and manufacturer of advanced RF solutions for the space, aerospace and defence, and telecoms infrastructure markets, announces that it has received an Authorisation to Proceed (“ATP”) for approximately £7m, from a major European defence prime, for the supply of high-performance active components for the next phase of a long-standing electronic sensor programme for a defence project. The ATP authorises Filtronic to commence work on the project, ahead of purchase order conversion in Q1 2026. The total value of the contract is expected to be £11m, for a two-year programme. Production will take place at Filtronic’s new secure, automated microelectronics facility in Sedgefield, supporting efficient, high-volume manufacture of complex RF modules for mission-critical defence applications.

 

18 Dec 25. GDELS receives major order to provide further EAGLE vehicles for the German Bundeswehr. General Dynamics European Land Systems (GDELS) has been commissioned by the Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support (BAAINBw) to supply the German Armed Forces with protected EAGLE V 4×4 command and control vehicles, as well as EAGLE V 6×6 medium protected ambulance vehicles, as part of two supplementary procurements. The two corresponding framework agreements provide for the delivery of a total of 5,000 vehicles, of which almost 3,000, with a total value of 4bn euros, are being ordered immediately.

 

18 Dec 25.  HENSOLDT – The European defence procurement agency OCCAR has commissioned the consortium formed by HENSOLDT Optronics GmbH and Theon Sensors S.A. to supply an additional 100,000 night vision goggles to the German Armed Forces and 4,000 to the Belgian Armed Forces. This procurement for the German and Belgian armed forces will further strengthen European interoperability. Since 2021, more than 50,000 night vision goggles have already been delivered to these European armed forces. The goal is to supply more than 178,000 units by the end of 2030. The scope of delivery for the Mikron night vision goggles also includes an In-Service Support (ISS) agreement. This is intended to strengthen the night vision and operational capabilities of both armed forces in the long term.

 

16 Dec 25.  Lockheed Martin – The Danish Acquisition and Logistics Organization (DALO) has selected Lockheed Martin’s TPY-4 next-generation ground-based air surveillance radar to enhance Denmark’s long-range air defense capabilities. Denmark is the fifth nation to adopt the system, joining a growing group of NATO partners integrating advanced radar technology. The delivery of three TPY-4 radars, with an option for a fourth, will strengthen the Royal Danish Air Force and support NATO’s collective security. This state-of-the-art, solid-state, phased-array radar detects and tracks airborne targets in real time, and its open-architecture design enables seamless integration with existing air and missile defense systems. TPY-4 enhances interoperability among Denmark, regional partners, and NATO forces, helping allies maintain a technological edge in a rapidly evolving threat environment. Designed for mobility, reliability, and global deployment, Lockheed Martin radars are used by more than 45 nations across six continents. European industry partnerships play a critical role in the TPY-4 program. Lockheed Martin leverages an extensive European supplier base, making this and other international radar efforts a U.S.–European industrial collaboration. The company’s longstanding relationship with Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace (KDA) supported production of the first TPY-4, including the Platform Electronics System built by KDA. Most recently, KDA assembled the first TPY-4 produced by an international partner.

 

17 Dec 25. Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace (‘KONGSBERG’) has signed a contract with Rheinmetall Air Defence for the delivery of its command and control solution into the Skyranger 30 mobile air defence system. The end customer is the Dutch Ministry of Defence. The contract will secure seamless integration between the Skyranger 30 and the NASAMS and NOMADS air defence systems that the Netherlands procured from KONGSBERG in November 2024. 18 Dec 25. Patria and Germany have today concluded two procurement contracts within the Common Armoured Vehicle System (CAVS) programme, valued at over 2bn Euros, comprising a firm order value that exceeds 1 billion Euros, plus options. These contracts involve the acquisition of up to 876 Patria 6×6 armoured vehicles in four different variants, including those equipped with the Patria NEMO turreted mortar system and Kongsberg RS4 remote control weapon system. The deliveries will begin in 2026, followed up with Patria’s technology transfer to German industrial partners FFG, JWT and KNDS, with whom Patria signed the industrial teaming agreement in early 2024. The first fully locally built armoured vehicles will be delivered in 2027, and the full local production capacity will be established to meet possible future demands of the Bundeswehr (German Armed Forces).

 

17 Dec 25. Renk Group has obtained orders worth more than €45m ($52m) to supply transmissions for the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr). The company will deliver its HSWL 256, HSWL 354 and AGB300 transmissions for integration into the Puma infantry fighting vehicle, the Büffel armoured recovery vehicle and the Boxer armoured transport vehicle. These orders form part of the ongoing expansion of the Bundeswehr and are intended to support the operational capability of the armed forces. (Source: army-technology.com)

 

15 Dec 25. Robin Radar Systems today commemorates a major contract with the Dutch Ministry of Defence (MoD) to supply 100 of its flagship IRIS drone-detection radars. It marks one of Europe’s largest investments in drone-detection sensing to date. Following Dutch parliamentary approval two weeks ago, the first 50 IRIS systems have already been delivered, with initial user groups having completed operational training. Reversing traditionally years-long delivery timescales, the radars are in the process of deployment across key Dutch air bases and critical infrastructure sites. The first 30 radar systems shipped within 24 hours. The deal underlines a necessary shift towards quicker innovation cycles, emphasizing a need for immediate, increased national airspace protection in NATO countries.  For three consecutive years, Robin Radar has provided IRIS systems to Ukraine via the MoD’s Task Force for Ukraine to help protect its infrastructure and armed forces. As well as strengthening technical capability, this has enabled the production of bespoke, battle-proven solutions in support of the Dutch national security response. The collaboration also follows a series of recent drone sightings over several air bases in the Netherlands and neighboring countries, heightening the urgency for the Dutch government to bolster its own counter-UAS capability.

 

11 Dec 25. Saab has received an order from BAE Systems Hägglunds for the sight and fire control system UTAAS (Universal Tank and Anti-Aircraft System) for Combat Vehicle 90. The order value is approximately SEK 314 m. Deliveries will take place 2029—2030. UTAAS is a modular, integrated sight and fire control system for the Combat Vehicle 90 (CV90), currently in service in Sweden, Norway, Switzerland, Finland, the Netherlands, Denmark, Estonia, and Ukraine, and has also been ordered by the Czech Republic and Slovakia.(Source: joint-forces.com)

18 Dec 25. Thales and the Italian Navy are further consolidating their cooperation in Italy with the opening of a modern service centre at the Taranto Arsenal, dedicated to the maintenance of sonars and equipment installed on the Italian Navy vessels. This new facility enables the Italian Navy to cut intervention times by half on Thales systems, thanks to the deployment of highly qualified local experts and technicians. In addition, on-the-job training will be provided at this facility to Navy personnel on the maintenance of all supported systems, thus facilitating the transfer of specialized skills directly in the field. Thales has invested in locating skilled personnel and technical resources within Italy, positioning them where they are most needed – right on the waterfronts of the major naval arsenals. This is a process of incremental and customized localization and proximity, transferring locally a strategic capital of technical expertise and technological instrumentation, at the service of Italy’s Defence.   The surveillance performance and reliability of Thales sonar systems in detecting and classifying submarines and underwater objects is now matched by a highly effective, responsive and local Logistic Support capability.  Thales reaffirms its commitment in supporting the Italian Navy, which in turn confirms its trust in the Group by assigning a dedicated infrastructure within the Arsenal of Taranto for the FREMM Through Life Sustainment Management programme. This cooperation is further strengthened with the signing of two multi-year maintenance and support contracts: the first for FREMM Class frigates dedicated to the maintenance of the Integrated Sonar Suite and electronic warfare solutions2, and the second for Gaeta Class minehunters, dedicated to the maintenance of the Variable Depth Sonar on board.

18 Dec 25.  Airbus – Spain is placing orders for 100 Airbus helicopters through the Directorate General for Armament and Material (DGAM) of the Ministry of Defence. These four contracts, framed within the National Helicopter Plan announced in May, aim to boost the modernisation of Spain’s defence and security assets. The contracts, which represent the largest helicopter purchase by the DGAM, include four different models for the three branches of the Spanish Armed Forces. Specifically, the agreement includes the following programmes:

  • 13 H135 helicopters: 12 units for the Spanish Air and Space Force and 1 for the Navy. They will be used for advanced pilot training, light utility, and observation missions.
  • 50 H145M helicopters: All for the Spanish Army (FAMET). Their missions cover military pilot training, light attack (equipped with HForce, complementing the Tiger), light utility and disaster relief.
  • 6 H175M helicopters: For the Spanish Air and Space Force. These super-medium utility helicopters will be used for governmental missions, including the transport of authorities, replacing obsolete fleets from Wing 48.
  • 31 NH90 helicopters: 13 for the Army, 12 for Air and Space Force, and 6 for the Navy. Destined for tactical transport, manoeuvre, and special operations missions, as well as completing the Navy’s amphibious warfare fleet.

 

17 Dec 25. Airbus has been awarded a €30m framework contract by the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) to provide Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) services for multipurpose maritime surveillance with the Flexrotor Uncrewed Aerial System. These services enhance Coast Guard missions by offering extended coastal range and long-endurance capabilities. The core service includes flight operations utilising the Flexrotor system, delivering Electro-Optical/Infrared (EO/IR) and radar imagery. This data will be seamlessly streamed to the EMSA RPAS Data Centre used by the relevant national authorities of the Member States to follow the flights live. The services will directly support Coast Guard operations including search and rescue operations, fisheries control and environmental protection, as well as detection of illicit maritime activities.

 

15 Dec 25. Airbus –  Germany has decided to exercise the option for 20 more H145M light combat helicopters (Leichter Kampfhubschrauber or LKH for short) that were part of a contract signed in December 2023, bringing the total number to 82 helicopters.  The first H145M LKH helicopter was delivered to Germany, less than a year after the contract signature, in November 2024 and additional helicopters have since been delivered. The helicopter’s missions include training, reconnaissance, special forces operations and light attack. The German Army will receive 72 helicopters, while the Luftwaffe’s special forces will receive ten.

 

18 Dec 25. Rheinmetall and ICEYE open up Dimension Space. Rheinmetall has received a major order from the German Armed Forces for the space sector. The Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support (BAAINBw) has commissioned Rheinmetall ICEYE Space Solutions to supply the German armed forces with space-based reconnaissance data via exclusive access to a synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellite constellation. To deliver this capability, Rheinmetall has partnered with ICEYE – the world’s leading manufacturer and operator of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellites – to establish Rheinmetall ICEYE Space Solutions. Based in Neuss, the joint venture will provide a high volume of SAR images via its exclusive constellation, offering a comprehensive service solution that includes full operations, ground station management, and AI-driven image evaluation. The satellite constellation remains the property of Rheinmetall ICEYE Space Solutions. The current contract is valued at approximately €1.7 bn gross. Furthermore, an extension option is part of the contract. The space-based reconnaissance data will be used, primarily, to protect the German Armed Forces’ ‘Lithuania Brigade’ and secure NATO’s eastern flank.

17 Dec 25. Allen Control Systems (ACS), a leader in autonomous precision robotics, today announced that the U.S. Army Applications Lab (AAL) has awarded the company a contract to develop an integration for its Bullfrog™ autonomous weapon station across five of the Army’s most deployed combat vehicles. The contract is for $1.5m with the potential for additional options of up to $4.5m. This initiative is a joint effort involving the Army’s Combat Capabilities Development Command’s Ground Vehicle Systems Center (GVSC) and the 1st Cavalry Division’s Transformation in Contact (TiC) brigade. 12 Dec 25. Cummins Power Generation Inc., Minneapolis, Minnesota, was awarded a $500,000,000 firm-fixed-price contract for 500-kilowatt skid mobile electric power generator sets and power plants, including minor modifications. Work locations and funding will be determined with each order, with an estimated completion date of Dec. 12, 2025. Army Contracting Command, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland, is the contracting activity (W909MY-26-D-0001).

 

17 Dec 25. Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace, Kongsberg, Norway, is awarded a $80,163,321 firm-fixed-price modification to the previously awarded contract action (M67854-25-C-2023) for Amphibious Combat Vehicle (ACV) medium caliber cannon Protector remote turret 20, hereafter referred to as the “turret.” The total value of the contract if all options are exercised is $282,820,227. This contract modification provides for the exercise of the options for the procurement of 52 full rate production turrets for the ACV medium caliber cannon (ACV-30) vehicle, associated production costs, fielding and support costs, support & test equipment, and spares. Work will be performed in Johnstown, Pennsylvania (62%); and Kirkegaardsveien, Norway (38%), with an expected completion date of Nov. 30, 2028. Fiscal 2025 procurement (Marine Corps) funds in the amount of $80,163,321 will be obligated at the time of award and will not expire at the end of the fiscal year. 16 Dec 25. L3Harris Technologies (NYSE: LHX) has been selected as a subcontractor to provide assured communications support for the U.S. Air Force’s E-4C fleet in support of the U.S. Survivable Airborne Operations Center (SAOC) program, primed by global aerospace and defense company, SNC. The engineering and manufacturing development contracted to L3Harris, awarded by SNC subcontractor Collins Aerospace, an RTX business, spans five years.  As part of the SNC-led team, L3Harris will help guide communication-suite integration efforts, bringing the latest resilient communications technology to this specialized fleet and expanding its role with air, ground and space communications. The company will leverage its 15 years of experience supporting the E-4C’s predecessor, the E-4B, and continued wideband communications innovation to deliver new, resilient technology in support of the most critical command-and-control missions. (Source: ASD Network)

Northrop Grumman Systems Corp., Mission Systems Sector, Linthicum Heights, Maryland, was awarded a $334,419,034 firm-fixed-price modification to previously awarded contract (N00024-20-C-5519) for production of Surface Electronic Warfare Improvement Program (SEWIP) Block 3 Hemisphere and Quadrant systems. This contract modification includes options, which if exercised, would bring the cumulative value of this contract action to $783,025,378. Work will be performed in Baltimore, Maryland, (33%); Tampa, Florida (10%); Chelmsford, Maryland (8%); Sykesville, Maryland (7%); San Diego, California (5%); Hudson, New Hampshire (4%); Woburn, Massachusetts (4%); Rochester, New York (3%); Nashua, New Hampshire (3%); Glendale, Arizona (2%); Denver, Colorado (2%); Washington, North Carolina (2%); Longmont, Colorado (1%); Cincinnati, Ohio (1%); and miscellaneous locations – each less than 1% (15%), and is expected to be completed by December 2029. BAE Systems – Norfolk Ship Repair (BAE), Norfolk, Virginia, was awarded a $117,702,348 firm-fixed-price modification to a previously awarded contract (N0002426C4403) to provide funding for the accomplishment of maintenance, modernization, and repair of USS Forrest Sherman (DDG 98) fiscal 2026 depot modernization period. The scope of this acquisition includes all labor, supervision, equipment, production, testing, facilities, and quality assurance necessary to prepare for and accomplish the Chief of Naval Operations availability for critical modernization, maintenance, and repair programs. Work will be performed in Norfolk, Virginia, and is expected to be completed by August 2027. Fiscal 2026 other procurement (Navy) funds in the amount of $117,702,348 will be obligated at the time of award and will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. 18 Dec 25. KBR (NYSE: KBR) announced today it has been awarded a seat on a multiple award, indefinite delivery indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract by the U.S. Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP). The NAVSUP Worldwide Expeditionary Multiple Award Contract (WEXMAC) 2.1 Territorial Integrity of the United States (TITUS) is a contract for readiness and sustainment focused on defense of the continental United States. Under WEXMAC 2.1 TITUS, KBR will compete on IDIQ task orders to provide essential supplies and services to support U.S. military and coalition partner operations, humanitarian assistance and disaster relief efforts. Tasks may include a wide range of support services such as stability operations, civil support and supply chain and distribution services. WEXMAC 2.1 TITUS task orders are expected to be firm fixed price. The contract spans a five-year base period with an additional five-year option period. The five-year option period would bring the ceiling amount to $20bn.

 

16 Dec 25. SEA, part of the Cohort plc Group, has been awarded a multi-m-pound contract to supply its advanced KraitArray undersea sensing technology to Liquid Robotics, a Boeing Company, for integration into the company’s Wave Glider uncrewed surface vehicle (USV). The agreement will see SEA provide 22 KraitArrays to support uncrewed autonomous maritime surveillance and undersea detection capabilities. Building on more than a decade of collaboration between SEA and Liquid Robotics, the project marks an important milestone in the global scaling of anti-submarine warfare (ASW), intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) and maritime domain awareness (MDA) payloads for uncrewed platforms, with both companies able to innovate with agility and deliver at scale.

 

17 Dec 25. Textron Systems Corporation, a Textron Inc. (NYSE:TXT) company, announced today that it has sold a 21-ft. TSUNAMI™ USV to the Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Pacific (PAC) to support the testing of the Maritime Digital Experimentation Federation (MDEF) – an Australia, United Kingdom, and United States (AUKUS) testing initiative to distribute testing of interoperability standards with uncrewed vehicles. The order includes the state-of-the-art TSUNAMI craft and engineering and training support.

The Boeing Co., St. Louis, Missouri, is awarded a $930,771,278 cost-plus-incentive-fee, cost-plus-fixed-fee, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to provide service life modifications for up to 60 F/A-18 E/F Super Hornets in support of the ongoing efforts to extend F/A-18 Block II Super Hornet service life from 6,000 flight hours to 10,000 flight hours, as well as provides for integration of Block III avionics capabilities for the Navy. 17 Dec 25.  Boeing – US Air Force to buy two more 747-8s for presidential fleet support. The U.S. Air Force said on Tuesday it was acquiring two Boeing 747-8 jumbo jets for $400m to establish a training and sustainment program for its future presidential airlift fleet. The purchase is part of the service’s efforts to accelerate the presidential airlift program as it prepares to transition to the newer and larger 747-8 model from the aging 747-200, the Air Force said in a statement. The first aircraft is expected to arrive in early 2026, with the second delivery scheduled before year-end. (Source: Reuters)

 

12 Dec 25. Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace, Kongsberg, Norway, was awarded a $240,904,098 firm-fixed-price contract for the Joint Strike Missile Lot Two production. This contract provides for the purchase of all up rounds with containers, test hardware, and support items being produced under this contract. Work will be performed at Kongsberg, Norway, and is expected to be completed by Nov. 30, 2028. This contract was a sole source acquisition. Fiscal 2024 procurement missile funding in the amount of $137,970,866; and fiscal 2025 procurement missile funding in the amount of $102,933,232, are being obligated at the time of award. Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, is the contracting activity (FA8681-26-C-B002).

 

12 Dec 25. Sikorsky, A Lockheed Martin Co., Stratford, Connecticut, was awarded a $433,214,151 modification (P00087) to contract W58RGZ-22-C-0010 for full funding of Program Year Five under the Black Hawk multi-year ten contract, providing for the delivery of nine UH-60M and 15 HH-60M aircraft, as well as associated program management, from July 2026 through December 2027. The modification brings the total cumulative face value of the contract to $4,699,642,384. Work will be performed in Stratford, Connecticut, with an estimated completion date of Dec. 31, 2027. Fiscal 2026 aircraft procurement, Army funds in the amount of $433,214,151 were obligated at the time of the award. Army Contracting Command, Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, is the contracting activity.

17 Dec 25. General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT), a business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), announced today it was awarded a $285 m contract by the Commonwealth of Virginia to strengthen its cybersecurity infrastructure. Awarded in October, the contract has a one-year transition period, five-year base period and three one-year option periods. Under the contract, GDIT will leverage its Eclipse Defensive Cyber and Everest Zero Trust Digital Accelerators to deliver comprehensive cybersecurity services, including vulnerability management, zero trust services and a 24/7 security operations center to the Virginia Information Technologies Agency (VITA), which provides IT services for 67 state agencies serving more than 8.8 m residents. 15 Dec 25. 6K Energy, a division of 6K Inc., today announced it has been awarded a $1.9 m Battery Network (BATTNET) Program III research and development grant from the U.S. Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), the nation’s logistics combat support agency. The award will accelerate domestic, sustainable production of critical lithium-ion battery materials through the development and scale-up of advanced single-crystal (SC) NMC721 cathode powders using 6K’s UniMelt® microwave plasma process. Under the 12-month program, 6K Energy will focus on scaled synthesis, post-processing optimization, and performance validation of SC NMC721, including coin-cell and full-cell testing in partnership with a U.S.-based lithium-ion cell manufacturer. SC NMC721 is particularly well suited for the “All-US” cell voltage window of 2.5–4.35 V and meets demanding defense-relevant performance targets.

18 Dec 25. The US government has announced new military sales worth USD11.15bn for Taiwan, representing the largest US weapons package for the island. The Foreign Military Sales (FMS) tranche was announced by the US Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) on 17 December and covers eight proposed deals. The sales package comes amid heightening tensions between Taiwan and China and a stated requirement by the island to allocate new ‘special’ funding – worth about USD40 bn – to bolster its defensive capabilities. 18 Dec 25. Austal has announced the award of a $1.03bn contract to design and build Landing Craft Medium vessels under the Strategic Shipbuilding Agreement signed with the Commonwealth of Australia. The LCM Design and Build Tasking Statement Contract appoints Austal subsidiary, Austal Defence Shipbuilding Australia (Austal Defence Australia), to complete the detailed design and build 18 Landing Craft Medium vessels at Austal’s Henderson Shipyard in Western Australia. 17 Dec 25.  Lockheed – Japan – Aegis Class Destroyer Support. The State Department has made a determination approving a possible Foreign Military Sale to the Government of Japan for Aegis Class Destroyer Support and related equipment for an estimated cost of $100.2 m. The Defense Security Cooperation Agency delivered the required certification notifying Congress. The Government of Japan has requested to buy follow-on technical support of Aegis class destroyers, including Combat Systems Sea Qualification Trials (CSSQT); test and evaluation services; sustainment support and services; Aegis computer software updates; systems integration and testing, in-country and on-site engineering support; all necessary emergent engineering and technical support services; familiarization, operational support; system overhauls; system upgrades; on-the-job practical operations and maintenance; combat systems integration; development, testing, and installation of program patches; adaptation data and annual service agreements; fielding technical inquiries by the purchaser; operational integration and maintenance support; field service engineering; problem investigation; technical assistance; support solutions to technical problems arising from post-production; testing capabilities; supporting U.S. Government contractors and technical engineers; and other related elements of logistics and program support. The estimated total cost is $100.2m. This proposed sale will support the foreign policy goals and national security objectives of the United States by improving the security of a major ally that is a force for political stability and economic progress in the Indo-Pacific. The proposed sale will improve Japan’s capability to meet current and future threats by ensuring Japan Maritime Self Defense Force’s (JMSDF) Aegis fleet remains ready to provide critical capabilities in the defense of Japan. Specifically, the requested CSSQT services will provide JSMDF with capability support that is vital to the effective and safe operations of the Aegis Combat Systems (ACS) suite. Japan continues to modernize its fleet to support Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) roles and special mission requirements. The JMSDF Aegis Fleet will fulfill Japan’s mission goal of acquiring and maintaining their Aegis capable ships and will further enhance interoperability with the U.S. Navy, build upon a longstanding cooperative effort with the United States, and provide enhanced capability with a valued partner in a geographic region of critical importance to Japan and the U.S. Government. The Aegis destroyers in Japan’s fleet afford greater flexibility and capability to counter regional threats and to enhance stability in the region. Japan currently operates Aegis ships, is proficient at using their evolving ballistic missile defense capability, and is effective at employing the AN/SQQ-89A(V)15J undersea warfare combat system for undersea surveillance and detection. Japan will have no difficulty absorbing these services into its armed forces. The proposed sale of this equipment and support will not alter the basic military balance in the region. 12 Dec 25. Bombardier – the Government of Canada has purchased six Global 6500 aircraft to perform worldwide utility flights and support missions such as aeromedical evacuations, disaster relief, humanitarian aid and national security operations. Representatives from Bombardier and the federal government celebrated this agreement today at Bombardier’s Global Aircraft Assembly Centre in the Greater Toronto Area, where the Global 6500 aircraft is assembled. Interior completion work on these aircraft will be performed in Greater Montreal.  This order is valued for Bombardier at approximately $400m U.S., based on the current list price for the Global 6500 aircraft and the cost of military modifications.  The Royal Canadian Air Force, which has operated Bombardier Challenger aircraft since 1983, will benefit from the increased range and capability of the Global 6500 aircraft. Delivery of the first aircraft is expected by summer 2027.

 

16 Dec 25. Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) has awarded a $11m contract to BAE Systems for the integration of the AN/APX-127(V)1 combined interrogator transponder (CIT) onto the KF-21 Boramae aircraft. The system, intended for tactical aircraft, aims to improve identification capabilities between friendly and hostile units, supporting enhanced decision-making in complex operational environments. According to BAE Systems, the CIT’s open-system design enables software upgrades without major hardware changes, which can help limit costs and technical risks in future updates. This Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) system also offers multi-functional features and meets current standards for encryption, anti-jamming and cybersecurity resilience. 17 Dec 25.  Leonardo – Nigeria is set to strengthen its air capabilities with the acquisition of 24 M-346 fighter jets from Italy, marking the largest military aircraft procurement in West Africa. The deal, signed in November 2023 between the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) and Italian defence giant Leonardo, is reportedly worth €1.2bn (approximately ₦1.8trn). As part of the agreement, Leonardo will provide 25 years of logistical and maintenance support for the aircraft fleet, ensuring operational readiness and sustainability. 15 Dec 25. Nord Quantique, a leading builder of quantum computers, today announces it will receive up to $16m (CA $23m) as part of Phase 1 of the newly created Canadian Quantum Champions Program (CQCP). This new Canadian Government initiative, led by Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED), is designed to support the development of scalable and useful quantum computers in Canada, by Canadian companies. As a part of the CQCP, the National Research Council of Canada will establish the Benchmarking Quantum Platforms initiative to undertake an expert assessment of the underlying quantum technologies, working closely with the companies. This initiative will use an interdisciplinary, science-based approach to evaluate each company’s technical progress.
