29 Sep 25. The Spanish Army has entered into a contract with France-based detection and imaging technologies provider Exosens for the supply of 17,000 monocular night vision devices. The contract involves the procurement of Night Vision Lasers Spain’s (NVLS) wide FOV (50°) monoculars, which provide a 60% larger image size compared to the standard 40° models. 30 Sep 25. Romania aims to buy Abrams tanks in $7 bn deal-defence ministry. Romania’s defence ministry has asked parliament to approve a plan to acquire hundreds of Abrams tanks as well as ammunition, parts and training worth more than $7bn, it said in a statement on Tuesday. The European Union and NATO member signed a first contract to buy 54 Abrams tanks from U.S. army stock for $1.07bn in 2023, with full delivery estimated in 2028. It is now aiming to buy ammunition, parts, simulators, technical support and training for those tanks at a cost of $458.2m before VAT. It also aims to order an additional 216 tanks and parts for 6.49bn euros ($7.6bn) before VAT, it said. The Abrams is made by General Dynamics (GD.N). The statement did not specify when the equipment would be delivered. The country’s defence acquisition strategies are approved by its top security council, led by President Nicusor Dan, and large purchases must be cleared by parliament. (Source: Reuters)
29 Sep 25. Rheinmetall to supply artillery ammunition to Eastern European customer – total worth €444m. Rheinmetall has been commissioned to supply ammunition to an Eastern European customer. As a subcontractor to Global Military Products, a company commissioned by the US government, Rheinmetall Expal Munitions will supply 155 mm M107 projectiles with M4A2 propellant charges and 105 mm M1 projectiles to the customer. The total value of the contract is around €444m. Of this, €170m has already been booked as a pre-order, meaning that a further €274m in new orders has now been booked. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2026 and be completed in June 2027. The order underscores Rheinmetall’s high level of expertise and manufacturing capacity in the field of ammunition. The Düsseldorf-based technology group is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of large-calibre ammunition. Rheinmetall has been increasing its production capacity since 2022 and aims to be able to produce up to 1.5m 155 mm artillery shells per year by 2027.

MilDef subsidiary roda has received call of order with Bundeswehr, worth 212 MSEK. roda computer, subsidiary of MilDef, has signed a contract on deliveries of rugged IT for vehicle integration projects, to the German army digitalization project, D-LBO (digitalized land-based operation). The deliveries will start in 2025 and be finalized in the fourth quarter 2026. The order value is 212 MSEK. Roda, part of MilDef Group since the acquisition of roda computers GmbH, has received a call-off order on an existing framework agreement with the the Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support (BAAINBw for short), the procuring authority of the Bundeswehr.
24 Sep 25. SkeyDrone receives multi-site drone detection order from Belgian energy provider. SkeyDrone will deploy its drone detection system to help protect energy infrastructure in Belgium, following a multi-site agreement with Elia, a high-voltage transmission system operator. The Belgian high-voltage transmission grid managed by Elia comprises over 8,903 km of overhead lines and underground cables. SkeyDrone’s modular drone detection system combines specialised software with flexible hardware integration to enable intelligent threat classification. Elia said it selected SkeyDrone’s system for its intuitive front-end visualisation, powerful analytics, the ability to replay flight paths and identify pilot positions post-flight, and a responsive helpdesk. 29 Sep 25. MBDA has signed a contract with the National Directorate of Naval Armaments for the production of the TESEO MK2/E anti-ship missile, which is currently under development for the Italian Navy. The contract covers the supply of new generation TESEO MK2/E anti-ship missiles, which will equip new units of the Italian Navy. This includes the FREMM EVO class frigates, the MPCS/PPA (Multi-Purpose Combat Ship/Pattugliatori Polivalenti d’Altura) and the new generation DDX destroyers. The missile will also complement the previous MK2/A version, which is already in-service on the FREMM and Horizon class naval units. The production contract follows the previous one signed in 2021 for the development, integration and qualification of the missile. The TESEO MK2/E is an entirely new weapon system designed to meet the requirements of the Italian Navy. Thanks to its Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) seeker technology the new missile offers innovative performance. For example, it can counter both very long range naval and land targets, allows enhanced mission planning that includes in-flight missile control via a satellite data link, and has a secondary deep strike capability.

Atheras Analytics SAS has signed a contract with the European Space Agency (ESA) to develop an advanced simulation tool aimed at ensuring the harmonious coexistence of next-generation satellite constellations. The nine-month project is titled “ENGEOS – Evolution of the NGSO and GSO Co-Existence Framework”. The project directly addresses one of the most pressing challenges in modern space communications: the increasing risk of signal interference between legacy Geostationary (GSO) satellites and the new wave of thousands of Non-Geostationary (NGSO) satellites in Low Earth Orbit (LEO) and Medium Earth Orbit (MEO). While these new NGSO mega-constellations, operated by companies like SpaceX, OneWeb, and Amazon, promise to deliver low-latency, high-speed internet globally, they share radio frequency spectrum with GSO satellites that provide critical services, from broadcasting to secure communications.

Dassault – The French Armaments Agency (DGA) ordered five Dassault Falcon LXS Albatros maritime surveillance and intervention aircraft from Dassault, according to a DGA statement on 1 October 2025. This completes a framework contract for 12 Albatros aircraft for the French Navy, seven of which were initially procured in December 2020. These units come under France’s maritime surveillance and intervention aircraft (AVSIMAR) programme, which aims for the renewal and strengthening of the naval aviation arm of the service dedicated to maritime defence of the territory and state action at sea. 01 Oct 25. Leonardo’s Cyber Capabilities to Protect the European Union. Leonardo is awarded the FREIA contract to provide advanced cybersecurity services to the European Commission and to institutions, bodies and agencies of the European Union. Leonardo has been awarded Lot 1 of the inter-institutional framework contract FREIA to provide advanced cybersecurity services to the European Commission and to 71 entities, including institutions, bodies, and agencies of the European Union. The contract was awarded to Leonardo and Atos, partners in the ‘ELCA4EU’ consortium, by the Directorate-General for Digital Services of the European Commission (DG DIGIT), for a total value exceeding 300 m euros. FREIA aims to support the entities concerned in securing their infrastructures through operational cybersecurity services structured around the six phases defined by the NIST Cybersecurity Framework. The FREIA contract emerges in the context of escalating geopolitical tensions, where the cyber threat has become a primary focus. As evidence of the emergency, data from Leonardo’s Global CyberSec Center show a 36% increase in cyber events in Europe over the past 12 months. Global security is now built, therefore, by combining traditional defence with the protection of critical infrastructures, an area in which cybersecurity plays a fundamental role. 26 Sep 25. The Department of War announced two Defense Production Act (DPA) Title III awards totaling $33.5m to expand the solid rocket motor (SRM) industrial base. The awardees are Americarb. Inc. (Americarb) in Niagara Falls, New York and General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (GD-OTS) in Lincoln, Nebraska. These awards support the Department of War’s objectives to expand the munitions industrial base, bolster supply chain resiliency, and increase domestic production in strategic priority areas.
02 Oct 25. BWX Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: BWXT) announced today it has been awarded a 10-year contract valued at $1.6bn by the Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration to support the national security mission of establishing a supply of high purity depleted uranium (HPDU). Under the contract, BWXT will initiate requirements to build an HPDU manufacturing plant, which includes designing the plant, applying for the necessary licenses, procuring long-lead equipment, preparing the physical site, demonstrating manufacturing readiness and operating the plant. General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT), a business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE:GD), announced today that it was awarded an enterprise IT modernization contract to strengthen the U.S. Strategic Command’s (STRATCOM) operational readiness. Safran Federal Systems has been awarded a contract from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) under the Robust Quantum Sensor (RoQS) program, a key initiative supporting the Department of Defense’s drive to deliver assured Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) in contested and GPS-denied environments. As part of this effort, Safran will develop quantum sensors that are inherently resistant to environmental disruptions, ensuring they can operate reliably without sacrificing performance. These sensors are expected to enable reliable navigation across multiple domains helping reduce dependence on GPS and strengthening operational readiness for U.S. and allied forces. The award covers the first phase of the program in which Safran will complete the quantum sensor development, including tests on a military helicopter, to demonstrate effectiveness in one of the most challenging environmental conditions.

Blighter (www.blighter.com), a pioneering designer and manufacturer of ground-based smart electronic-scanning micro-Doppler radars, has won a follow-on contract from a military customer in Southeast Asia to supply its Blighter B400 series radars for border surveillance. The radars will be installed by Blighter’s local systems integration partner onto specialist army vehicles for rapid deployment to border infiltration hotspots. When required, the radars can also be trailer mounted on a higher mast or dismounted and set up on a tripod for locations that are inaccessible by vehicle. Blighter’s ultra-reliable low power solid-state radars contain no moving parts so are easily transportable and can be quickly reconfigured to match the changing patterns and locations of border infiltration.

The US Congress was advised of the possible sale of High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS), resupply vehicles and other equipment by the US Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) on 30 September. South Korea’s Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) has selected L3Harris to meet a requirement for a new airborne early warning and control (AEW&C) aircraft and formally approved a domestic project to develop a new long-range air-to-air missile (LRAAM). DAPA said on 30 September that the project to supply four AEW&C aircraft to the Republic of Korea Air Force (RoKAF) is worth nearly KRW3.1 trillion (USD2.2 bn) up until 2032. The separate LRAAM programme is costed at KRW753.3 bn and will run from 2026 to 2033.
