Raytheon UK, part of RTX’s (NYSE: RTX) Raytheon business, has been awarded a contract from BAE Systems (LON: BA) to supply its Landshield Plus anti-jam antennas for the CV90 infantry fighting vehicle. Landshield Plus is comprised of an antenna and anti-jam processor in a single box. The mounted solution provides users with information about interfering signals and their location and offers real-time situational awareness to aid in GPS-challenged environments. Its compact, lightweight design and low power usage make it highly versatile for use on land, sea, and air platforms.

08 Sep 25. ICEYE, the global leader in Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellite operations, and the Finnish Defence Forces have officially signed a contract for the procurement of SAR satellites. This procurement decision follows the Letter of Intent signed with the Finnish Ministry of Defence in June and will significantly enhance the Finnish Defence Forces’ intelligence and surveillance capabilities from space. The contract was signed in Tampere, Finland, by Brigadier General Engineering Juha-Matti Ylitalo, Deputy Director of the Finnish Defence Forces Logistics Command, and Seppo Aaltonen, VP Nordics & NATO at ICEYE. The acquisition includes ICEYE’s SAR satellites and the technical systems and equipment required to establish a sovereign, space-based surveillance capability for the Finnish Defence Forces. ICEYE’s satellites are uniquely capable of providing high-resolution imagery and data in all weather and light conditions, a crucial advantage for maintaining situational awareness. 10 Sep 25. Serco, the international provider of critical services to governments, has won a new indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract to continue supporting the US Navy’s Submarine High Data Rate (SubHDR) antenna systems. Under the single-award contract vehicle, with a ceiling value of $97m (£72m), Serco will provide maintenance, repair and upgrade services for the SubHDR Antenna Pedestal Group, a mission-critical system which enables the US naval fleet to send and receive information, such as secure wide-band communications, voice and data traffic, imagery and video conferencing. Serco has supported the SubHDR programme for over 20 years, and the new contract extends this support by 10 years. Work will primarily take place at Serco’s production and repair facility in Ludlow, Massachusetts, with support services also taking place in Newport, Rhode Island.

The U.S. Air Force last week awarded defense firm Applied Research Associates a two-year contract to design and prototype the next version of the massive bunker-busting bomb that this year struck a key Iranian nuclear facility. ARA will work on the air-to-ground Next Generation Penetrator, the successor to the GBU-57 Massive Ordnance Penetrator, the Albuquerque, New Mexico-based company said in a statement Friday. Boeing, which originally made the MOP, is teaming up with ARA on the Next Generation Penetrator, the companies said. Boeing will design and develop the tail kit for the new bombs and support all-up round integration. (Source: Defense News)
09 Sep 25. Raytheon Co., Tucson, Arizona, has been awarded a $760,000,000 cost plus fixed-fee, firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract in support of Advance Medium Range Air-to-Air Missiles (AMRAAM). This contract will allow for the mitigation of obsolescence in support of efforts that cover production, sustainment, and development of the AMRAAM. Work will be performed at Tucson, Arizona and is expected to be completed by Sept. 7, 2030. This contract involves Foreign Military Sales (FMS) to Canada, Taiwan, Sweden, Czech Republic, Korea, Kuwait, Japan, Finland, Germany, the United Kingdom, Portugal, Italy, Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, Norway, Belgium, Australia, Turkey, Spain, and Lithuania. Fiscal 2025 Air Force missile procurement funds in the amount of $1,058,951; fiscal 2025 Navy weapons procurement funds in the amount of $144,402; and FMS funds in the amount of $346,685, are being obligated at the time of award. This award is the result of a sole source acquisition; one solicitation was mailed, and one offer was received. Axon Vision, Israel’s first publicly traded defense AI company, specializing in vision-based AI systems for military platforms, announced today it has secured a significant $2 m (USD) order from a local Israeli defense customer, with the potential for substantial follow-on orders. Under the order, Axon Vision will deliver an advanced upgrade kit for Remote-Controlled Weapon Stations (RCWS) that includes the “AI Core” computing unit and the EdgeRCWS software – an AI-powered solution for smart and automated operation of RCWS. The kit transforms conventional and even outdated weapon stations into fully intelligent systems that automatically detect and respond to a wide range of aerial and ground threats in real time. By analyzing the live video feed with advanced AI, the system enables effective interception of hostile drones as well as enemy combatants attempting to approach undetected.

MP3 International, a GRADEONE subsidiary and an Abu Dhabi–based, highly skilled supplier and manufacturer of defence, security, law enforcement, rescue services, and sporting and hunting products, has announced the signing of a landmark agreement with Kalyani Strategic Systems Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bharat Forge Limited and the key driver of defence and aerospace business initiatives. GRADEONE is an entity of EDGE Group and a leading provider of military hardware equipment, pyrotechnics, ammunition, and other supplies for the UAE Armed forces and other critical national entities. The contract, a first of its kind for a critical defence component between an Emirati and an Indian company, was signed by Khalifa Al Ali, CEO of MP3 International, and Neelesh Tungar, CEO of Kalyani Strategic Systems Limited. Under the agreement, Kalyani Strategic Systems Limited will supply to UAE with large calibre 155mm barrels for howitzers, which are commonly used by armed forces worldwide and designed to deliver long-range, high-explosive fire support. The barrels ensure optimal performance and longevity of the howitzer utilization, enhancing operational readiness and mission success. The contract reinforces the long-term cooperation between the UAE and India, paving the way to serve two lucrative markets of focus, as well as the wider regions of Southeast Asia and MENA. It also marks a pivotal step in strengthening the defence ecosystem of both the UAE and India by advancing technological superiority and reinforcing the shared commitment to security, stability, and long-term cooperation.
10 Sep 25. Thales and local Malaysian partner Advanced Defence Systems (“ADS”) Sdn. Bhd. sign a contract for the delivery of HF XL TRC 3900 complete vehicle-mounted radio stations, including radios, amplifiers and antennas. With this contract, Malaysia becomes the first country in Asia to benefit from innovative HF XL technology, first unveiled at Eurosatory 2024. HF XL provides ten times the data rate of current HF systems and ensures resilient long-range communications in constrained environments, perfectly suited to Malaysia’s tropical terrain. This solution provides the full advantages of HF, including secure transmissions, low operating costs and long-range coverage in remote areas or environments poorly served by satellite. It enhances resilience against jamming and enables the transfer of large data files such as images and video streaming. The complete range of TRC 3900 HF XL radio stations also includes 20W manpack solutions for long-range mobile autonomous force needs up to 1000km, as well as 400 W & 1KW radio solutions, that enable deployed command posts to communicate with command headquarters and with other units in remote areas of the theatre of operations, over distances of up to 5,000 km.
