21 Aug 25. MBDA – The UK is buying six Land Ceptor air defence missile launchers, supporting up to 140 jobs across the country and strengthening our national security. Britain’s air defences are to be strengthened with the purchase of six new surface-to-air Land Ceptor missile systems, the Ministry of Defence has announced today (Friday 22 August). The £118m purchase will secure jobs and growth in the North-West, supporting up to 140 jobs including at manufacturer MBDA’s site in Bolton, Lancashire, delivering on the Government’s Plan for Change. 19 Aug 25. KNL has secured a joint procurement order for the supply of Cognitive Networked HF (CNHF) Manpack radios to the Finnish Defence Forces (FDF) and the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV). The order is valued at approximately €15m ($17m) and the fulfilment of the contract is expected by the end of 2025. (Source: army-technology.com)

 

15 Aug 25. OSL – The Norwegian Defence Materiel Agency has signed a contract with a British company, Operational Solutions Ltd. (OSL), for the purchase of new anti-drone systems. The systems being acquired are known as anti-drone systems, also called “Counter Unmanned Aerial Systems,” or C-UAS, which will protect bases as well as stationary objects and installations from drones. The framework agreement with OSL is worth up to NOK 938m and will last for four years, with an option to extend for up to three years. 18 Aug 25. Cubic Defense has been awarded a three-year Other Transaction Agreement (OTA) contract to support U.S. Army PEO STRI programs. The contract provides engineering and manufacturing of 60mm and 81mm mortar Tactical Engagement Simulation Systems (TESS) training systems under the STE Increment 1 rapid fielding to the U.S. Army’s Continental United States (CONUS)-based combat training centers, the National Training Center (NTC) and Joint Readiness Training Center (JRTC).

 

20 Aug 25. Cubic Awarded Contract from the United States Air Force (USAF) for 102 New P5 Combat Training System (P5CTS) Pods with System Security Update (SSU) and Block 7 Capabilities. Cubic Defense, the world’s leading provider of advanced air combat training, announces the firm-fixed-price IDIQ contract award by the USAF. The sole source contract will provide Block 7 engineering upgrades in addition to another 102 new P5 Pods equipped with the System Security Upgrade (SSU), with the work to be performed through March 24, 2028. The P5CTS SSU was created to meet stringent security requirements that are fully interoperable with 5th Gen internal encrypted P5 subsystems. The addition of Block 7 capability means that customers can bring additional mission data down to the P5 Ground station to facilitate the latest weapons and effects adjudication.

 

21 Aug 25. MSM Group – US Army awards $635m contract for artillery ammunition facility. The new facility will have the capacity to load 36,000 155mm artillery rounds a month. The US Army has awarded MSM Group North America a $635m contract to design, construct, and inaugurate the Future Artillery Complex (FAC) at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant. The agreement is facilitated by the Joint Program Executive Office Armaments & Ammunition – Project Lead Joint Services and the Army Contacting Command – Rock Island. The advanced FAC will leverage 21st-century technology to deliver scalable and cost-effective explosive loading capabilities for the US Army. It will incorporate lean manufacturing techniques alongside fully integrated system control and data acquisition systems, enhancing safety for operators and ensuring consistent quality in the production of 155mm artillery rounds. 13 Aug 25. Greensea Systems Inc., Richmond, Vermont, is awarded a $10,000,000 firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for the Amphibious Unmanned Ground Vehicle (AUGV). The intent of this contract is to procure AUGVs as part of the Littoral Explosive Ordnance Neutralization Family of Systems. Work will be performed in Richmond, Vermont, and is expected to be completed in August 2030. Funds in the amount of $9,004,750 are expected to be obligated upon award of this contract. This contract is awarded based on a sole-source basis under authority of 10 US Code 4021. Marine Corps Systems Command, Quantico, Virginia, is the contracting activity. (Source: joint-forces.com)

 

21 Aug 25. HII (NYSE: HII) announced today that its Mission Technologies division is among the companies included on a multiple award contract to provide training products and services that will enhance U.S. Navy fleet readiness.  The indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract has a ceiling of $267m and will enable HII to compete for task orders for the Naval Education and Training Professional Development Center, which supports professional growth and readiness for U.S. Navy enlisted personnel, and other naval education training commands. 15 Aug 25. Lockheed Martin Space of Titusville, Florida, is being awarded a $110,898,408 cost-plus-fixed fee modification (P00014) to previously awarded contract (N0003024C0100) for Trident II (D5) missile production and deployed systems support. Work will be performed in Magna, Utah (94.9%); Clearwater, Florida (2.7%); Titusville, Florida (1.3%); and locations less than 1.0 percent each (1.1%). Work is expected to be completed Sept. 30, 2029. Fiscal 2025 weapons procurement (Navy) funds in the amount of $110,606,105 will be obligated on this award and no funds will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. Fiscal 2023 weapons procurement (Navy) funds in the amount of $292,303 will be obligated on this award and no funds will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The maximum dollar value of the contract action is $110,898,408. This contract is being awarded to the Contractor on a sole source basis under 10 U.S. Code 3204(a)(1) and was previously synopsized on the Systems for Award Management website, with one proposal received. Strategic Systems Programs, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity. The information contained in the announcement is unclassified.

The company’s role on this contract will support the Space Force’s broad vision of enabling the efficient, high-capacity multi-user Spaceports and deliver engineering solutions to protect U.S. national security. 15 Aug 25. Red 6, a hardware-enabled software company revolutionizing military flight training, today announced it has been awarded a contract from the U.S. Air Force to integrate its ATARS (Airborne Tactical Augmented Reality System) into the F-16 Fighting Falcon. 20 Aug 25. Sikorsky, a Lockheed Martin company (NYSE: LMT) today announced a new U.S. Army contract that will fund Black Hawk® modernization engineering efforts. The initial $43m contract award will focus on foundational capabilities for modernization: enhancement of the airframe and inclusion of a digital backbone capability to allow for rapid unmanned aerial systems (UAS) integration. The award also includes development of requirements and architecture using model-based systems engineering (MBSE). The contract will support the Army’s near-term priority to integrate launched effects into the Black Hawk, enabling the aircraft to deploy UAS and other effects to enhance its mission capabilities. Lockheed Martin has been demonstrating launched effects capability with Black Hawk for years, and is working with the Army to deliver a federated capability in 2026. The MBSE and digital engineering effort will focus on developing a digital thread of the Black Hawk for collaborative and effective design, testing and maintenance of the aircraft. The Black Hawk digital backbone effort, supporting a Modular Open System Approach (MOSA), will involve the development of advanced systems and software to support the aircraft’s modernization. This digital backbone facilitates rapid capability insertion to quickly respond to future platform mission needs. This initial work on airframe enhancements, main fuel and digital backbone set a strong foundation for further rapid capability updates to Black Hawk. With a more powerful engine, airframe enhancements and a main fuel upgrade, the aircraft will carry more payload at greater range, and future upgrades to flight controls to include autonomy and AI features that will assist pilots in tough conditions increasing mission safety and effectiveness.

18 Aug 25. Booz Allen Wins $1.58bn Defense Intelligence Agency Contract Transforming counter-WMD missions with advanced technology. Booz Allen Hamilton (NYSE: BAH) today announced it was awarded a five-year, single-award task order with a $1.58bn ceiling to provide intelligence analysis related to countering weapons of mass destruction (CWMD). Under the Weapons of Mass Destruction Analysis, Exploitation, and Data Science Support (WAEDS) task order, awarded in September 2024, Booz Allen will apply advanced technology and tradecraft to transform CWMD missions globally. WAEDS supports the Defense Intelligence Agency’s (DIA) Defense Counterproliferation Office and the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) to provide CWMD intelligence analysis, including production and dissemination, visualization, web development, business analytics, intelligence business operations, and compartmented programs support to the analytic workforce. This task order will provide the bulk of the intelligence community and the Department of Defense’s (DOD) WMD and CWMD intelligence analysis and intelligence support to critical operations through highly technical and scientific skillsets. 19 Aug 25. Mercury Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: MRCY, www.mrcy.com), a technology company that delivers mission-critical processing to the edge, today announced a new production agreement with AeroVironment, Inc. (“AV”) (NASDAQ: AVAV) to support the U.S. Space Force’s Satellite Communication Augmentation Resource (SCAR) program. AV was awarded the $1.4bn SCAR contract in 2022 by the Space Rapid Capabilities Office (RCO), a direct reporting unit of the Space Force. The program leverages AV’s BADGER system, a multi-band deployable ground communications system that simplifies space mission operations through agile, re-configurable beamforming tiles. The Space RCO and AV have completed every development milestone for this complex technology and are now focused on integrating and delivering the first BADGER unit this year. Mercury provides a field-programmable gate array (FPGA)-based signal acquisition and digital beamforming solution for BADGER based on its Quartz RFSoC and Navigator® Design Suite commercial product offerings. The company has been producing hardware for the first four BADGER systems under an initial contract awarded in 2023. The new production agreement signed in April will support two additional BADGER systems.

 

20 Aug 25. Trust Automation Inc., San Luis Obispo, California, was awarded a maximum $490,000,000 ordering amount cost-plus-fixed-fee, completion, firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for software, hardware, and reports. This contract provides for rapid research, development, prototyping, demonstration, evaluation, production, and transition of unmanned aircraft system and counter-unmanned aircraft systems capabilities. Work will be performed at San Luis Obispo, California, and is expected to be completed by Aug. 20, 2030. This contract was a sole source acquisition. Fiscal 2025 procurement funds in the amount of $20,315,558 are being obligated under the first task order at time of award. The Air Force Research Laboratory, Rome, New York, is the contracting activity (FA8750-25-D-B002).

20 Aug 25. Australia – Javelin Lightweight Command Launch Unit. The State Department has made a determination approving a possible Foreign Military Sale to the Government of Australia of Javelin Lightweight Command Launch Unit and related equipment for an estimated cost of $97.3m. The Defense Security Cooperation Agency delivered the required certification notifying Congress. The Government of Australia has requested to buy one hundred sixty-one (161) Lightweight Command Launch Units (LwCLU) that will be added to a previously implemented case whose value was under the congressional notification threshold. The original Foreign Military Sales (FMS) case, valued at $6.3 m ($0 in Major Defense Equipment (MDE)), included Javelin Life Cycle Support (LCS) and U.S. Government and contractor technical assistance. This notification is for one hundred sixty-one (161) Lightweight Command Launch Units (LwCLU). The following non-MDE items will also be included: Javelin LwCLU Basic Skills Trainer; missile simulation rounds and battery coolant unit; electronic technical manual and operator manuals; life cycle support; physical security inspection; spare parts; System Integration and Check Out; U.S. Government and contractor technical assistance, engineering, logistics, and personnel services; tool kits; training; and other related elements of logistics and program support. The estimated total cost is $97.3m. This proposed sale will support the foreign policy and national security objectives of the United States. Australia is one of our most important allies in the Western Pacific. The strategic location of this political and economic power contributes significantly to ensuring peace and economic stability in the Western Pacific. It is vital to the U.S. national interest to assist our ally in developing and maintaining a strong and ready self-defense capability. The proposed sale will enhance Australia’s capability to meet current and future threats by improving its advanced surface-fired munitions capabilities and increasing its capability to deter adversaries. This enhanced capability will protect Australia and local allied land forces and will significantly improve Australia’s contribution to coalition anti-armor capability. Australia will have no difficulty absorbing these articles and services into its armed forces. The proposed sale of this equipment and support will not alter the basic military balance in the region. The principal contractors will be the Javelin Joint Venture between RTX Corporation, located in Arlington, VA; and Lockheed Martin, located in Orlando, FL. At this time, the U.S. Government is not aware of any offset agreement proposed in connection with this potential sale. 18 Aug 25. Lockheed – Bahrain – M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System. The State Department has made a determination approving a possible Foreign Military Sale to the Government of Bahrain of M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System and related equipment for an estimated cost of $500m. The Defense Security Cooperation Agency delivered the required certification notifying Congress of this possible sale today. The Government of Bahrain has requested to buy four (4) M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS); and three (3) International Field Artillery Tactical Data Systems. The following non-MDE items will also be included: M28A2 Low Cost Reduced Range Practice Rocket Pods; High Mobility Multi-Purpose Wheeled Vehicle Fire Direction Centers; M1084A3 HIMARS resupply vehicles; HIMARS Driver Vision Enhancer systems; AN/PSN-13 Defense Advanced GPS Receiver; support and test equipment; simulators; generators; integration and test support; spares and repair parts; communications equipment; software delivery and support; facilities and construction support; publications and technical documentation; personnel training and training equipment; support equipment; U.S. Government and contractor engineering, technical, and logistics support services; studies and surveys; and other related elements of logistics and program support. The estimated total cost is $500 m. This proposed sale will support the foreign policy and national security objectives of the United States by improving the security of a major non-NATO ally that is an important force for political stability and economic progress in the Middle East. The proposed sale will improve Bahrain’s capability to meet current and future threats by enhancing its ability to provide critical support for the security of U.S. installations and personnel in Bahrain, integrate into U.S.-led coalitions, and to operate independently in support of U.S. interests and the security of U.S. forces in-theater. Bahrain will have no difficulty absorbing these articles into its armed forces. The proposed sale of this equipment and support will not alter the basic military balance in the region. The principal contractor will be Lockheed Martin, located in Grand Prairie, TX. At this time, the U.S. Government is not aware of any offset agreement proposed in connection with this potential sale. 15 Aug 25. Cuashub.com said today that ParaZero secures latest order for C-UAS system. ParaZero Technologies has received a purchase order for its counter-UAS tools from an undisclosed defense organization. The announcement signals further advancement into the growing global market for drone mitigation systems, estimated at $2.4bn in 2024 and projected to reach over $12bn by 2032. Earlier this month, ParaZero announced a successful field trial of an enhanced version of its DefendAir system. The updated configuration features a stationary net turret launcher capable of providing 360-degree perimeter defense with autonomous threat detection and interception. The new design offers broader coverage and improved performance against faster and larger drone threats.

ParaZero’s product suite includes:

  • DefendAir — A net-launcher C-UAS platform available in multiple formats. These include portable net guns for close-range defense, turret-mounted launchers for static protection and drone-mounted variants for dynamic interception. Notably, earlier demonstrations demonstrated a 100 percent interception rate against fast-approaching multirotor drones.
  • SafeAir — An autonomous parachute recovery system for drones, designed to activate automatically in case of drone failures, improving flight safety and regulatory compliance.
  • DropAir — A precision aerial delivery system tailored for high-altitude, low-opening (HALO) payloads. It has demonstrated consistent performance across weather conditions and is aimed at supplying critical goods in high-risk or hard-to-reach environments.

21 Aug 25. Sparton DeLeon Springs will supply electroacoustic devices and sonobuoys to the Australian Department of Defence under newly announced contracts. Sparton, acquired by Elbit Systems of America in 2021, confirmed it is now engaged in multiple firm-fixed-price contracts to supply the equipment to Australia as well as the Canadian Department of National Defence and the Indian Ministry of Defence. The multiple contract awards for sophisticated undersea warfare and anti-submarine warfare solutions are understood to exceed US$34m. 19 Aug 25. BlackSky Technology Inc. (NYSE: BKSY) signed a seven-figure Gen-2 space domain awareness expansion contract with HEO to provide fully-automated low-latency non-Earth imaging (NEI) services for defense, intelligence and commercial use. The imagery data services deal is now moving into its fourth phase after completing the automation of the entire tasking-to-delivery process.

 

 

20 Aug 25.   Geoscience Australia and Toitu Te Whenua Land Information New Zealand have expanded the agreement with Viasat for the world class satellite-based augmentation system, SouthPAN. Viasat, Inc. (NASDAQ: VSAT), a global leader in satellite communications, today announced a $252m AUD award from Geoscience Australia (GA) and Toitu Te Whenua Land Information New Zealand (LINZ) to deliver additional satellite services for the region’s world-class Southern Positioning Augmentation Network (SouthPAN). Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) will supply its AN/TPS-78 Advanced Capability (ADCAP) ground-based long-range air surveillance radars to Paraguay through the U.S. Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program, marking Paraguay’s first-ever FMS partnership with the U.S. This acquisition enhances Paraguay’s air surveillance capabilities, providing the ability to precisely detect and track manned and unmanned aircraft within its national airspace.
