Serco, the international provider of critical government services, has been awarded a four-year contract by the UK Ministry of Defence to provide engineering support and maintenance of the BAE SYSTEMS Air Defence Radar based at Remote Radar Head (RRH) Portreath in Cornwall, following a competitive procurement process. Under the contract Serco will provide first and second line maintenance for the BAE SYSTEMS T102 primary surveillance radar, and Hensoldt MSSR 2000 I Secondary surveillance radar. Site maintenance covers technical tasks including both the Radar and other Air Battlespace Management/Air Traffic Management equipment.

30 Jul 25. IDE Secures New Contracts to Supply WiSPRevo Systems for the Lithuanian Armed Forces. In July 2025, IDE secured two new contracts, totaling €5 mil, continuing the supply of WiSPRevo systems for military platforms of the Lithuanian Armed Forces. In the frame of C4I modernization, the Lithuanian Ministry of National Defense (MoND) has once again selected WiSPRevo as the preferred solution for upgrading communications capabilities across existing military platforms. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in early 2026, with system integration and commissioning to be performed by IDE’s invested WiSPR Certified Maintenance Centre in Lithuania, operated by its long-standing industrial partner ELSIS TS. Additionally, the recent extension program for the supply of additional BOXER Infantry Fighting Vehicles to Lithuania incorporates a further contract with KNDS Deutschland for the provision of WiSPRevo systems. 31 Jul 25. Rheinmetall will deliver 40mm ammunition to Lithuania and hand grenades to Estonia – total order value around €33m Rheinmetall has received various orders from Estonia and Lithuania for the delivery of infantry ammunitions. The orders have a total value of around €33m. Estonia awarded Rheinmetall a framework contract in the second quarter of 2025 for the delivery of hand grenades. Splinter grenades are to be delivered in 2026 and 2027, and offensive hand grenades from 2026 to 2029 – in significant numbers in each case. The order is worth around €17m gross.

31 Jul 25. Denmark Procures IRIS-T SLM. In its procurement process for an interim solution in the area of Surface Based Air and Missile Defence (SBAMD), the Danish Ministry of Defence has opted for the IRIS-T SLM system from Diehl Defence. Helmut Rauch, Diehl Defence CEO, and Ralph Herzog, Vice President of the Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support (BAAINBw), signed the contracts for the procurement of a fire unit of the IRIS-T SLM ground-based air defence system for Denmark on July 29. The Danish Ministry of Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organization (DALO) had previously granted the BAAINBw the authority to do so. The combat-proven system IRIS-T SLM will protect the civilian population, the armed forces and critical infrastructure from airborne threats, thus closing a capability gap. Bulgaria, Sweden and Switzerland, Denmark is the eighth ESSI customer to opt for the Diehl Defence air defence solution. The constant expansion of the ESSI user nations and their joint procurement results in strong synergies, e.g. in the form of joint exercises and training as well as cooperation in the area of maintenance and logistics between the allied nations. As the missiles for Diehl Defence’s ground-based air defence system are produced in Germany, there is a high level of security of supply. 28 Jul 25. Elbit Systems Ltd (NASDAQ: ESLT) (TASE: ESLT)  (“Elbit Systems” or the “Company”) announced today that it was awarded a contract worth approximately $260 m by Airbus Defence and Space (“Airbus DS”) to supply its J-MUSIC™ Directed Infrared Counter Measures (DIRCM) self-protection systems, for installation on the German Air Force A400M transport aircraft. The contract, to be executed over a 6-year period, follows a procurement decision by the Federal Office for Equipment, Information Technology and Operations of the Bundeswehr (BAAINBw). The J-MUSIC™ DIRCM system is part of Elbit Systems’ MUSIC™ family of airborne self-protection solutions, designed to defend aircraft against infrared-guided missile threats, particularly those launched from man-portable air-defense systems (MANPADS). The integration of advanced laser technology with high-performance imaging systems, enables the system to detect, track, and disrupt incoming missile threats in real time, providing autonomous protection without requiring crew intervention. The system is characterized by its modular and scalable architecture, allowing for integration with a wide range of aircraft platforms and missile warning systems. Its compact form factor ensures minimal impact on aircraft performance and payload capacity.

 

28 Jul 25. Türkiye has ordered Turkish Aerospace (TA) T625 Gökbey medium-twin helicopters to equip its armed forces and parapublic organisations. The Defence Industry Agency announced the buy at the International Defence Industry Fair (IDEF) 2025 in Istanbul. “A total of 57 Gökbey helicopters will be delivered to the Turkish Gendarmerie, Police, Land and Air Forces, Coast Guard, and Naval Forces,” the Defence Industry Agency said on 24 July. The announcement did not disclose a contract value or delivery timeline. The domestically developed Gökbey has been designed for domestic and international military, paramilitary, and civilian purposes in hot and high environments, and is equipped to carry 12 passengers. Development under the Turkish Light Utility Helicopter (TLUH) programme began in 2010, with Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI), as it was named at that time, and the Turkish Undersecretariat for Defense Industries (SSM), now known as the Defence Industry Agency, signing an initial contract in June 2013. In October 2024, the Turkish Gendarmerie became the first operator of the helicopter. Initially named Özgün (Original), the T625 designation was revealed in December 2016, and denotes a 6 tonne maximum take-off weight, two engines, and five main rotor blades. Key design features include a five-bladed main rotor and a four-bladed tail rotor to minimise vibration and noise, as well as a 30-minute ‘run-dry’ capability for the gearbox. 28 Jul 25. GovSat Orders a Defence Telecommunications Satellite from Thales Alenia Space. GovSat (LuxGovSat S.A.), a public-private joint venture between the Luxembourg Government and world-leading satellite operator SES, together with Thales Alenia Space, a joint venture between Thales (67%) and Leonardo (33%), today announced the signing of a contract for the supply of a new defence geostationary communications satellite, GovSat-2. Operating in X, Ka and UHF frequency bands, the satellite will provide secure and jam-resistant telecommunications services for the Luxembourg defence as well as for its partners. The satellite will be built on Thales Alenia Space’s Spacebus 4000B2 platform, renowned for its reliability and time-to-market efficiency. As prime contractor, Thales Alenia Space will be responsible for the design, manufacturing, testing, and delivery of the satellite. General Dynamics Information Technology, Falls Church, Virginia, was awarded a $98,000,000 contract modification (P00030) to extend the ordering period and ceiling value to a previously awarded competitive, single award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract (HC1028-15-D-0007) to provide communications systems acquisition, integration, installation, operations, and maintenance in support of U.S. Air Forces Central Command (USAFCENT) deployed mission requirements. The ordering period is extended to Sept. 8, 2026, and the lifecycle value of this contract action is increased by $98,000,000. The total lifecycle value of the contract is $814,000,000. Performance will be at USAFCENT locations throughout Southwest Asia. The Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization, Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, is the contracting activity. 29 Jul 25. Lockheed Martin Corporation Missiles and Fire Control, Dallas, Texas, is being awarded a $2,063,197,215 modification (P00105) to a previously awarded contract (HQ0147-17-C-0032) for the production of Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) Interceptors to support the U.S. government. The total value of this contract is increased from $8,353,586,643 to $10,416,783,858. Under this modification, the contractor will produce THAAD components under fixed-price incentive (firm-target) contract line-item numbers. The work will be performed in Dallas, Texas; Sunnyvale, California; Troy, Alabama; and Camden, Arkansas, with an expected completion date Dec. 1, 2029. One offer was solicited, and one offer was received. Fiscal 2024 and fiscal 2025 procurement funds in the amount of $284,917,283 are being obligated at time of award. The Missile Defense Agency, Huntsville, Alabama, is the contracting activity.

General Dynamics, Bath Iron Works, Bath, Maine, is awarded a fixed-price incentive (firm-target) modification to a previously awarded contract (N00024-23-C-2305) to exercise the fiscal 2025 option for construction of an Arleigh Burke-class ship (DDG 148). This modification also includes options for engineering change proposals, design budgeting requirements, and post-delivery availabilities. Work will be performed in Bath, Maine (69%); Cincinnati, Ohio (4%); Walpole, Massachusetts (4%); York, Pennsylvania (2%); South Portland, Maine (1%); Falls Church, Virginia (1%); and other locations (< 1% (totaling 19%), and is expected to be completed by August 2032. Fiscal 2025 shipbuilding and conversion (Navy) funds will be obligated at the time of award and will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. 28 Jul 25. BlackSky Technology Inc. (NYSE: BKSY) won the next phase of a competitive U.S. Navy research contract to further develop optical inter-satellite link (OISL) terminal applications for its Gen-3 constellation. The OISL terminals are expected to increase the speed at which very high-resolution imagery and other high-volume space-based data travel directly between satellites before downlinking to ground stations.

 

20 Jul 25. Honeywell Aerospace (NASDAQ: HON) has been selected by the U.S. Department of Defense’s (DoD) Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) to participate in the Transition of Quantum Sensing (TQS) program. The program aims to accelerate adoption of quantum sensors to address near-term alternative position, navigation and timing (PNT) and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) applications for the U.S. Joint Forces Command. Honeywell has been selected to support the TQS program under two DoD contracts: CRUISE (Compact Rubidium Unit for Inertial Sensing and Estimation) and QUEST (Quantum Enabled Sensor Technologies for MagNav). The CRUISE program, established by the DoD in partnership with Vector Atomic, will focus on developing quantum sensor-based Inertial Measurement Units (IMUs) to provide a standalone navigation solution without relying on traditional Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) susceptible to jamming and spoofing. Lockheed Martin Corp., Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Co., Fort Worth, Texas, is awarded an undefinitized contract action with a not-to-exceed value of $578,729,839, firm-fixed-price order (N0001925F0090) against a previously issued basic ordering agreement (N0001924G0010). This order procures fiscal 2025 F-35 air vehicle initial spares. The subject contract procures basic spares pool and global spares pool spares shared between the customers involved, customer specific afloat spares pool and deployable spares pool, and support labor. 31 Jul 25. Vertex Aerospace LLC, Madison Mississippi, was awarded a maximum $4,322,844,989 value, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for the contractor operated and maintained supply service contract for the T-6 aircraft. This contract provides support for safe flyable aircraft to meet users’ daily flight schedule and depot requirements consistent with Department of Defense and commercial sector best practices in procuring, producing, and delivering products and services to customers. Work will be performed at a variety of military bases across the continental U.S., and is expected to be completed by July 31, 2034. This contract was a competitive source selection with three offers received. Fiscal 2025 operation and maintenance funds in the amount of $5,324,080 are being obligated at the time of award. 29 Jul 25. Owl Cyber Defense Solutions LLC, Columbia, Maryland, was awarded a maximum $150,000,000 indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for research and development. This contract provides for the delivery of several software releases, including completion and transition of Voice and Video Cross Domain Solution, XD Vision, and Cross Domain Full Motion Video to the Minerva user community, to include computer software, technical documentation, hardware, and installation and maintenance of the current systems located at existing customer sites. Work will be performed at Columbia, Maryland, and is expected to be completed by July 29, 2030. This contract was the result of a sole source acquisition under the Small Business Innovation Research Program. Fiscal 2025 research, development, test and evaluation funds in the amount of $10,000 are being obligated at the time of award. The Air Force Research Laboratory, Rome, New York, is the contracting activity (FA8750-25-D-B003).

25 Jul 25. Ukraine – M109 Self-Propelled Howitzer MRO Capability. The State Department has made a determination approving a possible Foreign Military Sale to the Government of Ukraine of M109 Self-Propelled Howitzer Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul Capability and related equipment for an estimated cost of $150 m. The Defense Security Cooperation Agency delivered the required certification notifying Congress. The Government of Ukraine has requested to buy equipment and services for the refurbishment of M109 self-propelled howitzers, technical assistance, training, publications, and other related elements of logistics and program support. The estimated total cost is $150 m. This proposed sale will support the foreign policy goals and national security objectives of the United States by improving the ability of Ukraine to provide for its own defense. The proposed sale will improve Ukraine’s ability to meet current and future threats by further equipping it to conduct self-defense and regional security missions. Ukraine has an urgent need to strengthen local sustainment capabilities to maintain high operational rates for United States provided vehicles and weapon systems. An improved maintenance, repair, and overhaul capability will directly contribute to battlefield effectiveness through a more resilient and rapid repair cycle that will increase overall operational rates with reduced logistics and financial burdens. Ukraine will have no difficulty absorbing these articles and services into its armed forces. The proposed sale of this equipment and support will not alter the basic military balance in the region. The principal contractors will be BAE Systems, Daimler Truck North America, and Allison Transmission Inc., with all work occurring in Europe. At this time, the U.S. Government is not aware of any offset agreement proposed in connection with this potential sale. 25 Jul 25. HENSOLDT strengthens Ukraine’s air defence.  Sensor solutions provider HENSOLDT has received a major order to supply radars to strengthen Ukraine’s air defence. 25 Jul 25. Ukraine – Air Defense Sustainment. The State Department has made a determination approving a possible Foreign Military Sale to the Government of Ukraine of Air Defense Sustainment and related equipment for an estimated cost of $180 m. The Defense Security Cooperation Agency delivered the required certification notifying Congress. The Government of Ukraine has requested to buy equipment and services to support the training, sustainment, and refurbishment measures of existing U.S.-origin air defense systems. The following non-MDE items will be included: major modifications and maintenance support; spare parts, consumables and accessories, and repair and return support; personnel training and training equipment; U.S. Government and contractor engineering, technical, and logistics support services; and other related elements of logistics and program support. The estimated total cost is $180m. This proposed sale will support the foreign policy and national security objectives of the United States by improving the security of a partner country that is a force for political stability and economic progress in Europe. The proposed sale will improve Ukraine’s ability to meet current and future threats by further equipping it to conduct self-defense and regional security missions with a more robust air defense capability. Ukraine will have no difficulty absorbing these articles and services into its armed forces. The proposed sale of this equipment and support will not alter the basic military balance in the region. The principal contractors will be Sierra Nevada Corporation, located in Sparks, NV; V2X, Inc., located in McLean, VA; Radionix, located in Kyiv, Ukraine; and Systems Electronic Export, located in Kyiv, Ukraine.  At this time, the U.S. Government is not aware of any offset agreement proposed in connection with this potential sale. This selection underscores Xanadu’s innovative capabilities in pioneering quantum algorithms for advanced battery design, a crucial step towards strengthening North America’s defences against evolving aerospace and maritime threats, particularly in extreme environments. The IDEaS NORAD Modernization S&T Contest aims to foster groundbreaking solutions to modernize the science and technology portfolio of NORAD, the North American Aerospace Defense Command. 25 Jul 25. Get SAT and Rangsons Awarded Contract to Deliver Advanced Mobile SATCOM Terminals for a Major Defense Program in South. Get SAT, a leading provider of satellite communication terminals, together with its local partner Rangsons, has been awarded a multi-m-dollar contract to supply over 100 Micro SAT terminals for a Major Defense Program in South Asia. The program includes the delivery of Get SAT’s Micro SAT—a compact, ruggedized SATCOM-on-the-move terminal engineered for mobile platforms. Measuring just 28 x 25 x 7.5 cm and weighing 8 kg, the Micro SAT is among the smallest all-in-one terminals in its class. The terminals serve as the critical communications backbone for MoD operations in mobile and remote environments. Integrated with India’s military satellite constellation operated by ISRO, the solution ensures secure, high-throughput connectivity meeting customer requirements and supporting real-time communication in the most challenging conditions. More than half of the ordered units have already been delivered, with a portion already installed and operational in the field.
