Cubic Defence UK has been awarded a two-year, sole-source contract by the UK Ministry of Defence (UK MOD) for the delivery of the Instrumented Live Training – Area Weapons Effects System (ILT-A). The ILT-A contract builds on Cubic’s two-decade legacy of integrated training solutions for the UK MOD and supersedes the previous Area Weapons Effects Simulation (AWES) contract. The system combines advanced laser and area-effects technology with fully instrumented live-fire range systems and Remotely Piloted Air Systems (RPAS), creating a digitized environment featuring multi-spectrum, multi-domain threats. It also integrates with Cubic’s SCOPIC2 Virtual-in-Live synthetic environment to enable comprehensive force training and supports interoperability with partner nations. Data generated during training is used to inform the After Action Review process. The contract includes options to support the UK MOD and global allies with individual and collective training across multiple domains and training areas, from Section to Brigade level. 21 Jul 25. Kromek (AIM: KMK) received its first contract, worth £1.7m, under the UK Government’s Radiological Nuclear Detection Framework (the “Framework”) for the procurement of radiological nuclear detection equipment and supporting services for the Home Office. As noted in the Group’s announcement of 23 September 2024, Kromek is pre-qualified to receive orders under three Framework categories, covering the supply of handheld, wearable and large volume static radiation detectors. The Group’s new contract, which is part of the first procurement round under the four-year Framework, is for the supply of Kromek’s D3S-ID wearable radiation detector and ongoing training and product maintenance. The total value for this contract is £1.7m, of which a significant majority is scheduled to be received in the Group’s current financial year and which will contribute towards the expected revenue growth in the CBRN Detection segment.

18 Jul 25. The UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) has awarded Lloyd’s Register (LR) a 12-month in-service submarine support contract via the Aurora Framework. LR is a London-based organisation is known for its classification and compliance services in the marine and offshore industries worldwide. NSSLGlobal, a leading independent satellite communications provider, has today signed a landmark contract with FCDO Services, who support the UK’s diplomatic, development and consular work around the world, including responding to disasters. The agreement will enhance communications capabilities and bring additional resilience for the UK’s embassies, ministries and government infrastructure and support people deployed in high-risk and remote environments who lack reliable terrestrial communication services. Building on a long-standing relationship with FCDO Services, NSSLGlobal will provide the communications hardware, airtime, expertise, training and 24/7 technical support including adding Eutelsat OneWeb Low Earth Orbit (LEO) broadband services to the existing provision of other satellite connectivity. These options provide hybrid and tailored packages for fixed infrastructure, deployable teams and individuals. Delivering OneWeb LEO services enhances the UK government’s ability to deliver resilient high-throughput and very low latency broadband connectivity, for fast connection speeds up to 200 Mbps and rapid deployment with enhanced protection for sensitive communications.

23 Jul 25. armasuisse Switzerland Procures IRIS-T SLM. Diehl Defence and the German Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support (BAAINBw) have signed the contracts for the procurement of ground-based air defence (GBAD) systems of the type IRIS-T SLM for Switzerland. The Swiss Federal Office for Defence Procurement armasuisse had previously granted the BAAINBw the authority to do so. The signing of the agreement was preceded by Switzerland joining to the European Sky Shield Initiative (ESSI), of which Switzerland became the 19th of 24 members in October 2024. The contract between Diehl Defence and armasuisse provides for the delivery of five IRIS-T SLM systems and other services. These include, amongst others, the provision of logistics vehicles for mobile maintenance, the provision of spare parts and a training station for the Swiss Armed Forces. With the IRIS-T SLM systems, the Swiss Armed Forces close a key capability gap and strengthen their resilience to modern airborne threats. 23 Jul 25. Saab has received an order for its Mobile Air Defence (MSHORAD) solution from the Ministry of Defence and Armed Forces of the Czech Republic. The order value is SEK 1.8 bn and deliveries will take place 2028-2030. The order includes Saab’s mobile firing units based on the RBS 70 NG short range missile system along with its Bolide missiles. Saab will integrate the MSHORAD solution onto the MARS S-330 vehicle, manufactured by the Czech company SVOS. The MSHORAD solution will include a command-and-control system delivered by a Czech partner together with Saab, as well as a third-party radar solution already in operation with the Czech Armed Forces.
23 Jul 25. SilMach has taken a new step forward with its shock microsensors. The French Defence Procurement Agency (Commissariat des Armées) has chosen SilMach’s technology to monitor personal protective equipment such as ballistic plates inserted in bulletproof vests.

Bulgaria – Naval Strike Missile Coastal Defense SystemThe State Department has made a determination approving a possible Foreign Military Sale to the Government of Bulgaria of Naval Strike Missile Coastal Defense System and related equipment for an estimated cost of $620m. The Defense Security Cooperation Agency delivered the required certification notifying Congress of this possible sale today. The Government of Bulgaria has requested to buy a Naval Strike Missile Coastal Defense System (NSM CDS), including three (3) Link-16 Multifunctional Information Distribution System – Joint Tactical Radio Systems (MIDS-JTRS) and the following non-MDE items: tactical Naval Strike Missiles (NSM); inert NSM handling; telemetered NSM; operational, inert NSM; mobile fire control centers with associated communications equipment; mobile missile launch vehicles with associated communications equipment; NSM transport loading vehicles; NavStrike-M Global Positioning System receiver; operator trainer consoles; Simple Key Loaders (SKL); and associated support including but not limited to technical publications, training documentation, technical data packages, support equipment, software support spare parts, training, training simulators, integration services, and U.S. government and original equipment manufacturer technical assistance; and other related elements of logistics and program support. The estimated total cost is $620m. This proposed sale will support the foreign policy and national security objectives of the United States by helping to improve the security of a NATO Ally that is an important force for political and economic stability in Europe. At this time, the U.S. Government is not aware of any offset agreement proposed in connection with this potential sale. Denmark and the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) have announced the procurement of four MQ-9B SkyGuardian® Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) from General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. The purchase includes three Certified Ground Control Stations. Denmark joins a growing list of European countries that have selected MQ-9B for its multi-domain capabilities with exceptionally long range and endurance. The platform provides pole-to-pole satellite control and de-icing capabilities to enable missions in the harsh conditions of the Arctic in support of Denmark and its NATO Allies. Additionally, MQ-9B’s in-house-developed Detect and Avoid System aids MQ-9B’s ability to fly in unsegregated airspace for domestic civilian operations, making it highly versatile for operations from Denmark. MQ-9B recently became the first large remotely piloted aircraft to obtain a Military Type Certificate (MTC) from the UK’s Military Aviation Authority, certifying its safe operation without geographic restrictions, including over populous areas.
22 Jul 25. L3Harris Technologies (NYSE: LHX) has received a $300m contract from Italy to deliver two Gulfstream G550 aircraft provisioned for a modern electromagnetic warfare system. L3Harris is partnering with BAE Systems on this solution, which represents the first time the U.S. government has approved an EA-37B sale to an international ally. The modified G550 with electromagnetic attack capabilities will provide the Italian Air Force with an airborne jamming ability with range, altitude and endurance to disrupt enemy command and control communications, radars and navigation systems from an extended distance. Allison Transmission, a global leader in commercial and defence vehicle propulsion solutions, is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a contract by the Ground Vehicle Systems Center (GVSC) for the second phase of the Next Generation Electrified Transmission (NGET) programme. This programme follows NGET Phase 1 funding, which focused on design, development and testing of an electric hybrid sub-system. Phase 2 will focus on enhancing the eMachine and Inverter system to achieve flexible power modes, thereby reducing the noise and improving the capabilities of electrified vehicle fleets.
17 Jul 25. Epirus announced today a $43,551,060 contract from the U.S. Army’s Rapid Capabilities and Critical Technologies Office (RCCTO). The base contract includes delivery of two Integrated Fires Protection Capability High-Power Microwave (IFPC-HPM) Generation II (GEN II) systems, along with associated test events, support equipment and spares with options for additional tests, components and support. IFPC-HPM Generation II: High-power microwave for counter-electronics and critical asset protection. Now with more range & more power for increased lethality against more threat types. The IFPC-HPM GEN II systems will build upon the four IFPC-HPM systems Epirus delivered to U.S. Army in May 20241 and leverage the company’s solid-state, energy-based high-power microwave (HPM) technology platform for counter-electronics and critical asset protection. 23 Jul 25. The Department of Defense announced today a $6.2m award to Golden Metal Resources via Title III of the Defense Production Act (DPA). Golden Metal Resources is the wholly owned operating subsidiary of publicly-traded Guardian Metal Resources PLC. The award will enable Golden Metal Resources to deliver a pre-feasibility study for a tungsten mining site, Pilot Mountain, located southeast of Hawthorne, Nevada. This investment, which utilizes funds from the Additional Ukraine Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2022, supports the March 20, 2025, Executive Order 14241 on Immediate Measures to Increase American Mineral Production’s goal to facilitate domestic mineral production.

DroneShield (ASX:DRO) announced that the Hon Pat Conroy MP, Minister for Defence Industry, regarding the award of a contract under Project LAND 156 to supply handheld counter-drone equipment to the Australian Defence Force. DroneShield was awarded approximately $5m of a $16.9m in contracts (across 11 vendors, including 5 Australian Companies). The contract involves the provision of portable drone detection and defeat systems designed to support ADF personnel in identifying and mitigating unmanned aerial threats. This procurement forms part of the Commonwealth’s broader initiative to accelerate the acquisition of counter-drone capabilities. DroneShield will deliver equipment in accordance with the contract terms and project timelines. In addition to this equipment delivery, DroneShield stands ready to support the ADF as Systems Integration Partner under the broader LAND 156 program. With deep expertise in sensor fusion, electronic warfare, and command-and-control integration, DroneShield is well positioned to contribute to the development of scalable, interoperable counter-drone architectures that meet Defence’s evolving operational requirements.

The State Department has made a determination approving a possible Foreign Military Sale to the Government of Ukraine of HAWK Phase III Missile System and Sustainment and related equipment for an estimated cost of $172m. The Defense Security Cooperation Agency delivered the required certification notifying Congress. The Government of Ukraine has requested to buy sustainment related articles and services for the HAWK missile system, including: five-ton cargo trucks; HAWK system spare parts; refurbishment and system overhaul of HAWK air defense fire units; tool kits; test equipment; support equipment; technical documentation; training; U.S. Government and contractor technical and field office support; U.S. Government and contractor technical assistance; storage containers and equipment related to spare parts storage; MIM-23 HAWK missile spare parts and missile repair; and other related elements of logistics and program support. The estimated total program cost is $172 m. This proposed sale will support the foreign policy goals and national security objectives of the United States by improving the ability of Ukraine to provide for its own defense. This proposed sale will improve Ukraine’s capability to meet current and future threats by further equipping it to conduct self-defense and regional security missions with a more robust air defense capability. Ukraine will have no difficulty absorbing these articles and services into its armed forces. The proposed sale of this equipment and support will not alter the basic military balance in the region.
