11 Jun 03. Harris Corporation has delivered FALCON(r) II AN/PRC-117F multiband radios to the UK MoD as part of an UOR. This $5.3m contract marks the fourth order for AN/PRC-117F radios by the UK MoD since 2000. The UK MoD initiated the UOR for Harris’ FALCON II AN/PRC-117F multiband tactical radio systems to fulfil a critical mission requirement. They will be used by the UK MoD Permanent Joint Headquarters to augment headquarter communications for current operations in the Middle East.
17 Jun 03. Alvis Vickers has signed a contract with General Dynamics UK (GD UK) Ltd for the supply of the Platform Battlefield Information System Application (PBISA) for Challenger 2 worth £25m. PBISA is part of the Digitization of the Battlespace (Land) Programme that provides a battlefield management system for Challenger 2 Main Battle Tanks, as well as Warrior and Scimitar vehicles. The PBISA solution for Challenger 2 will be delivered from 2004 to 2006. Additionally, Alvis Vickers is contracted to support the system until December 2008. 19 Jun 03. ATK Missile Systems Co. LLC, Woodland Hills, Calif., is being awarded a $222,615,129 ceiling-priced, cost-plus-incentive-fee contract for the system development and design of the AGM-88E advanced anti-radiation guided missile (AARGM). The scope of the contract is the design, development and demonstration of a multi-mode AGM-88E AARGM seeker that will include an anti-radiation homing receiver, global positioning system/inertial measuring unit and terminal radar to meet current Navy operational requirements. Work will be performed in Woodland Hills, Calif. (88%); San Diego, Calif. (7%); Van Nuys, Calif. (2%); Santa Barbara, Calif. (1%); Torrance, Calif. (1%); and Bourges Cedex, France (1%), and is expected to be completed in September 2008. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was not competitively procured. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity (N00019-03-C-0353).
