BATTLESPACE BOOK CLUB

November 20, 2015 by

16 Nov 15. Author of Newly Re-released, Penetrating Book on Radical Islam Warns of More Attacks from Terrorists Hiding Among Muslim Migrants. The West should expect an increasing number of terror attacks as long as the current mass migration of Muslims into Europe and America is permitted to continue without rigorous vetting of the refugees, says an expert on the psychology and religious motivations of Islamic jihadists. Dr. Tawfik Hamid, author of ‘Inside Jihad: How Radical Islam Works, Why It Should Terrify Us, How to Defeat It,’ explains that deadly attacks against the West, such as the November 13 bloodbath in Paris, are not merely the actions of a few violent and misguided individuals who have taken Islamic theology to extremes. Rather, Dr. Hamid says, these actions are the product of a well-organized and funded global jihadist movement bent on subjugating the West. Furthermore, the terror campaign is at least tacitly supported by a large number of Muslims worldwide. “As a Muslim – and particularly as a former member of a radical Islamist group – I can state unequivocally that, without a single exception, official Islamic literature teaches these violent principles.” Dr. Hamid also asserts there is not a single approved Islamic theological text that condemns the practice of terrorism against infidels, or non-believers. Against such a background, Dr. Hamid says, French President François Hollande has responded correctly to the Paris attacks by calling them “an act of war” and placing the blame squarely on the leaders and members of the Islamic State. “The worst possible response by Western governments to these attacks is to avoid linking them to a deliberate campaign by jihadists,” he continues. Some Western leaders have pursued this course and have stubbornly persisted in doing so. But Dr. Hamid warns this only ensures that such attacks will grow in number, intensity and geographical location – now facilitated by the largely unrestricted flow of refugees from Syria and elsewhere in the Middle East.
Dr. Hamid knows about radical Islam firsthand. In the early 1980s, he was recruited into Jamaa Islamiya, an Egyptian terror group led at the time by Dr. Ayman al-Zawahiri, the man who went on to replace Osama bin Laden as leader of al-Qaeda. Over 30 years ago, Dr. Hamid recognized the insidious nature of violent jihad and rejected its distortions of the Quran, the holy book of the Muslim faith. Ever since, he has pursued the reformation of Islam. He has written new interpretations of the Quran’s key texts and has shared his message globally to millions of Muslims. Newly released in an updated and expanded edition, ‘Inside Jihad’ reveals Dr. Hamid’s deep insights about and passionate opposition to the Islamic terror movement drawn from his direct personal experiences. As a medical doctor and an expert on the psychology of the jihadist mindset, he explains the roles that sex, fear, petrodollars and the hijab for women have played in its proliferation. And he details a strategic plan to defeat radical Islam and end its global reign of terror.
Dr. Tawfik Hamid is a Senior Fellow in and Chair of the Study of Islamic Radicalism at the Potomac Institute for Policy Studies. He is considered a world authority on Islamism and counterterrorism. He has been featured on Fox News, CNN and the BBC, and he has published analyses in The Wall Street Journal and the National Review, and for the Hudson Institute.
‘Inside Jihad’ is published by Mountain Lake Press in quality paperback as well ebook form and is available from all major online retailers and selected bookstores, as well as from eBookIt.com.
