03 Oct 06. European Defence Agency (EDA): Report. EU Defence Ministers were presented (3 Oct 06) with a Long Term Vision Report, by the EDA, for European Defence capability and capacity needs. The Report is designed to assist Defence planners as they develop those military capabilities which the European Security and Defence Policy will require over the next 20 years.
Comment: The Report projects an aging Europe in 2025, with military spending diverted to pensions. Falling birth rates will dictate smaller Armed Forces with more tasks ‘outsourced’. The Report can be downloaded through the EDA’s website (www.eda.europa.eu). (Source: DNA DEFENCE NEWS ANALYSIS Issue 06/38, 9 Oct 06)

Comment: The Report can be downloaded through the MoD’s website (www.mod.uk). ‘Hard’ copies of the Report can be requested from the Science Innovation Technology Directorate (E-mail: email@example.com). (Source: DNA DEFENCE NEWS ANALYSIS Issue 06/38, 9 Oct 06)
