02 Oct 25. US Army Conducts Successful Soldier-Led Flight Test Series of LM’s PrSM. The U.S. Army successfully completed a series of soldier-led flight tests of Lockheed Martin’s (NYSE: LMT) Precision Strike Missile (PrSM) at White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico, demonstrating system readiness and advancing the service’s modernization priorities.  During September tests, American soldiers fired missiles from a HIMARS and both pods of the Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) M270A2, marking a significant achievement and the first time multiple rockets were fired from both launchers. The successful tests ultimately enable a more lethal force by providing soldiers cutting-edge, long-range target neutralization capabilities on proven platforms.

“This milestone validates the soldier’s ability to fire PrSM from all platforms in the U.S. Army inventory and certifies mission readiness,” said Carolyn Orzechowski, vice president of Precision Fires Launchers and Missiles at Lockheed Martin. “Lockheed Martin is committed to pushing the boundaries of innovation to deliver the most advanced 21st Century Security® solutions to the warfighter – leveraging digital technologies to streamline development, testing and fielding.”

The tests demonstrated extended range against targets and compatibility with both Lockheed Martin-built launcher platforms. PrSM met success criteria for lethality, range and accuracy from launch to impact, supporting the Army’s efforts to defend our homeland and deter adversaries. The progress of the PrSM program is a testament to the successful collaboration and innovative development approach between Lockheed Martin and the U.S. Army, which prioritizes speed, agility and close partnership. PrSM is designed to provide a next-generation, long-range precision strike capability that neutralizes targets out to more than 400 kilometers. The missile is designed with an open systems architecture, providing maximum affordability and flexibility. PrSM features a modular design that allows for future growth and upgrades. (Source: ASD Network)
