26 Mar 02. BarcoView has introduced its VISTA 4000 Console Family, a new modular console series, which offers fully functional and ergonomic rugged working positions for the most demanding Command and Control applications. The VISTA 4000 family’s split design, consisting of a Human Machine Interface and a Base Unit, offers a modular, user-configurable solution for a wide range of application platforms.
The VISTA 4000 family has been designed for operation in airborne, landbased and naval applications and provides several configuration options: low or high-end environmental specifications, top-down or side-by-side design and integrated or remote processing. This fully modular design of the VISTA family allows users to select their preferred configuration and system integrators are sure to have the same touch & feel across different platforms, resulting in minimal training and configuration costs in operational environments.
With the VISTA 4000, Barco has expanded its console product line. The cocooning concept, which is adopted from Barco’s VISTA 2000 series, protects COTS components from severe environmental conditions. The VISTA 4000’s expanded modular concept, the more extensive Built-In-Testing (BIT) and ease of maintenance (front-accessible LRU’s) guarantee for the enduser a predictable and minimal lifecycle cost. The VISTA 4000 adds more HMI possibilities and setups for various C4ISR applications. The design conforms with the latest ergonomic standards, which are becoming more and more stringent in current operational environments.
The VISTA 4000 series has already been selected for several programs and first units have already been delivered this month March 2002.
