14 Apr 22. Defence Committee questions Gen Sir Richard Barrons, former head of Joint Forces Command, Tuesday 19 April. On Tuesday afternoon from 3pm, the Defence Committee holds an evidence hearing with questions to Gen Sir Richard Barrons, former head of Joint Forces Command (now known as Strategic Command), as part of its work on the Russia-Ukraine Crisis and its inquiry examining the UK’s relationships with NATO and the US.
The session will examine the Russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine and the potential outcomes, both short-term and long-term, and is also likely to cover the effectiveness of UK and NATO current decision-making and actions.
The Committee will also ask questions in relation to its current inquiry into the UK’s relationships with NATO and the US, including how the UK can best support NATO, whether it has sufficient Defence equipment and personnel, and whether the Integrated Review and the Defence Command Paper need to be reviewed in light of the ongoing conflict.
