Aug 10. Defence Committee: Timetable. The Committee is to publish three Government Responses to earlier Reports. The Comprehensive Approach (to warfare) is to be published on 1 Sep 10 as HC 347; ISTAR (Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition & Reconnaissance) on 2 Sep 10 as HC 346 and Report and Accounts 2008/09 on 3 Sep 10 as HC 353. The Committee is to hold two oral evidence sessions on the Strategic Defence and Security Review: at 14.30hrs on 8 Sep 10 and on 15 Sep 10. The Committee intends to conduct two Inquiries into Afghanistan: the first having an Operational focus and the second to examine the context for a political settlement.
In due course, the Committee expects to carry out an Inquiry into support for Service personnel and their families and to revisit the topic of ‘Duty of Care’.
