15 Sep 05. Oxley e-tagTM evaluation kit updated. The new updated Oxley e-tagTM evaluation kit is available to purchase as a result of unprecedented demand from potential users of e-logistic systems. It is equipped with the latest USB Compatible Reader probe and contains three e-tag contact memory buttons, a windows DataloxTM asset recording software evaluation licence and a software development kit enabling integration into third party software applications.
Quick and easy to install the kit is available to end users and OEM developers and is recommend to trial in industries where engineering asset management is required such as defence, rail, shipping, utility and off-shore. Harris Corporation and Rockwell Collins, announced that they have completed the development of interoperable ground and airborne communications products for the international marketplace. The products are based on Harris’ Falcon® II portfolio of tactical radios and Rockwell Collins’ TALON family of airborne radios. Harris has incorporated the advanced TALON Electronic Counter-Countermeasures (ECCM) waveform into the Harris RF-5800M and RF-5800U tactical radios, which are part of the Harris Falcon® II family. Rockwell Collins has incorporated the Harris Quicklook 1A waveform and Harris Citadel® embedded encryption into its TALON airborne multiband radios. Harris delivered the TALON ECCM capability to international programs in 2005 and offers TALON as an option for the RF-5800M and RF-5800U manpack radio models.
15 Sep 05. Greeks bearing BMS and VIS. Intracom are showing their recently developed iBMS software at DSEi. The Hellenic company are now talking with the Greek MoD on integrating this command and control systems system on second-hand Leopard IIs to be acquired from the German MoD. In March 2003, the Hellenic Army of Greece ordered 170 Leopard 2 HEL/Leopard 2 GRs, based on the 2A6EX variant, direct from Krauss Maffei Wegmann with delivery from 2006-2009. The company is also showing its WISPR wideband intercom and secure packet radio, selected for these vehicles, at DSEi. The system has been selected for those Leopard 2 GRs acquired direct from Krauss Maffei as well as PzH2000 Self Propelled Howitzers. Demonstrations of WISPR have been made in Germany and demonstrations in the US are scheduled for later this year. Intracom are also the local manufacturer for the Thales PR4G radio selected by Greece in 1998. Production is nearing completion with 700 out of a total of approximately 10,500 having been delivered. They are now discussion between the three to switch to the PR4GNG standard and take advantage of the fourfold improvement in data throughput
15 Sep 05. AB Connectors Ltd, launchED a new power converter, which will help to solve the mobile power problems frequently encountered by the Armed Forces. The new SB0RD power converter, a 70W 24V-14V ruggardised converter, is fully qualified for harsh environments and has been tested in operational conditions by the Armed Forces. The SBORD is inbuilt into the SB0RD102 connector (commonly known as the slave plug connector) and offers huge weight and space benefits over other mobil
