28 Apr 11. Oxley Developments LED panel lamps combine the latest in LED technology with Oxley’s optical experience and mechanical design expertise to provide outstanding LED performance. The CLH range of LED indicators offers high intensity light output and exceptional optical features in a comprehensive range of standard colours including Warm White. They are ideal for use in all types of LED panel applications. Constructed to operate in the most demanding of environments, the Oxley range includes non-voltage and voltage, bi-colour and tri-colour in a variety of colour combinations and, for sub miniature, a unique press fit mounting. Optical features include high brightness in both wide and focussed viewing angles, sunlight readability, ESD protection, NVIS Friendly, tag terminations. The lamps are also available with flying leads and standard LED pin terminations. The modular design of the lamps allows the customer to order a bespoke solution to suit their requirements, choosing their specifications from a wide range of options and operating voltages. The lamps are all sealed against immersion to IP66 and offer high corrosion resistance over an operating temperature range of -40 to +100°C.Oxley LED Business Manager Dave Howell said: “These lamps have been developed to provide a rugged fit and forget solution with unique features such as AC and DC operating voltages ranging from 5vdc/vac to 28vdc/vac.” The complete range of Oxley LED panel lamps are available in small quantities through RS Components and Farnell and for larger volumes through Oxley specialist UK distributors Alpha 3, Aerco and Charcroft.

29 Jun 11. AMSTAF UGC considered for ‘infantry mule’ military missions. According to Amos Goren, the company founder, AMSTAF is also being considered for ‘infantry mule’ military missions, carrying the loads of an infantry squad closely following the troops even through difficult terrain. Other applications considered for the vehicle include employment of non-lethal weapons in riot control operations and autonomous negotiation of emergency situations, including multiple ‘flocks’ of AMSTAFs handling suicide bombers with remotely controlled means such as TASER weapons, arresting nets and blast protecting blankets. The vehicle has already been selected for operation with the 5th Army of the Republic of Korea Defense Force, patrolling the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) with
North Korea. AMSTAF-UGVAMSTAF is an electrically powered hybrid version of the ODG ARGO 6×6 platform, sustaining missions up to 12 hours of continuous operation.
