About the Role:
Our client, a wholly owned subsidiary of a world leading aircraft manufacturer, are recruiting Technical Publications Engineers (Service Bulletin Engineering and Maintenance Manuals) on a permanent basis at their growing site in Hertfordshire. These roles are working on Boeing programmes within their Technical Documentation department.
Applicants will be responsible for producing new and revised Service Bulletins, Aircraft Maintenance Manuals and/or Component Maintenance Manuals extracting information from various sources, that meets expectations of high technical and format accuracy.
Experience in an aircraft maintenance or engineering environment is essential with knowledge of aircraft systems and assembly processes being highly desirable. A HNC/Degree (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline or the equivalent industry experience is required. Equivalent industry experience could include; a time served engineer, avionics technician or mechanic with an airline, MRO, aircraft manufacturer or Air Force.
Strong communication, writing, presentation and research skills are required to organise, create and prepare content and text for technical documents in a proper and logical sequence taking into account the interfaces with disrupted aircraft systems.
Each individual is responsible for co-ordinating all the information needed to complete a Service Bulletin/Aircraft Maintenance Manual through all stages of development, the approval process and revision to final issue and off-site validation.
Our client is looking for candidates with all levels of experience and have vacancies within their Mechanical Systems, Mechanical Structures, Avionics and Electrical departments.
The starting salary for this position is up to £33,000 per annum with private health care, flexible working hours and pension as well as an on the job training program.

17 Nov 17. Magellan Aerospace invests in new Indian facility. Magellan Aerospace has started construction of a new facility in India, the Canadian company has announced. In a statement on 15 November, Magellan said the facility – located on seven acres in the Hi-tech, Defence, and Aerospace Park near the Bangalore International Airport – will be focused on manufacturing and assembly. The company added that it plans to invest CAD28m (USD22m) in the plant, with construction of the facility covering two phases in the next few years. Magellan said facilities under the first-phase of development are expected to be operational near the end of 2018. The facility will primarily support commercial aerospace packages for structural assemblies, fabrications, and machined components for the international markets. (Source: IHS Jane’s)
