Job description/Person specification; Based in London we are looking for security cleared professionals to work within a Scaled Agile team developing a Big Data Analytics ecosystem.
Experience working in a customer-facing role is desirable, with the ability to openly communicate, think creatively, collaborate, and influence when necessary.
This role will require the holder to hold a SC security clearance. The holder will also need to apply for a DV level of clearance, for which you will normally need to be a British citizen and been resident in the UK for a minimum of 10 years.
Overall Purpose of the Job;
• Ensuring that the product is of high quality, performs as the users expect and as the designers intended.
• Contributing towards the high performance and pace of the team by producing rigorous and largely automated test routines for the product.
• Looking for opportunities to further improve the software products.
Key Accountabilities;
• Accountable to the Solution Architect for production of tested software components.
• Accountable for working with the Big Data engineers to produce tested components.
• Accountable to the team for being creative and finding opportunities to incorporate new ideas into the test environment and the products.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required;
• Qualified to at least University Honours Degree in a science, engineering or maths subject or equivalent.
• Software development experience in languages including Java, Python, Bash.
• Experience in a DevOps and Test-driven environment.
• Experienced and knowledgeable in automated test / continuous integration design and execution tools such as Selenium, Jenkins, Bamboo.
• Experience of deploying and configuring software in a Linux environment.
• Experienced and knowledgeable in Big Data technologies for ingesting, transforming, storing and serving data at scale, such as Hadoop, MapReduce, Spark.
• Experience of performance testing.
• Experience with virtualisation and containers.
• Enthusiastic and willing to work flexibly to be part of a high-performing team.
• Ideally DV cleared, minimum is UK national with SC and willing to undergo government vetting to achieve DV.
• Excellent verbal and written technical English communications skills.

24 Oct 17. GD NASSCO christens US Navy’s newest Expeditionary Sea Base (ESB 4). General Dynamics (GD) NASSCO has christened the US Navy’s newest Expeditionary Sea Base, the USNS Hershel Woody Williams (ESB 4).
The vessel has been named in honour of World War II veteran, Medal of Honor recipient and ex-marine Hershel Woodrow Woody Williams.
USNS Hershel Woody Williams represents the fourth ship to be constructed by GD NASSCO. The vessel is expected to be delivered to the navy in February 2018.
