20 Oct 10. Eurocopter today inaugurated its new Indian subsidiary, which has been given the goals of expanding the world’s largest helicopter manufacturer’s commercial presence in this highly-promising marketplace, reinforcing its support and services network throughout the country, and further developing the company’s four-decade relationship with Indian industry. Eurocopter India Pvt. Ltd. is the 25th subsidiary established worldwide by Eurocopter and the 10th in Asia – underscoring the group’s commitment of being close to its customers and contributing to the helicopter sector’s evolution in key markets. The new subsidiary is headquartered in New Delhi and has an existing facility in Bangalore for the management of industrial activity. An engineering centre will be created in Bangalore next year, along with the opening of a new commercial office in Mumbai. Eurocopter India’s current headcount of 30 employees is expected to grow significantly during the coming years as the company evolves its commercial, industrial and services/support presence in the country.

15 Oct 10. Oshkosh Defense officially opened the doors of its new electrodeposition (E-coat) facility today in Oshkosh, welcoming political and military guests as part of a grand-opening ceremony. The facility was built specifically to support production of the U.S. Army’s Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles (FMTV). The new 150,000-square-foot facility houses two independent E-coat systems, which use a multi-step finishing process to prevent corrosion on the body of the FMTV. The truck cabs and trailers are dipped in a “paint bath” and electrically charged. Next, the FMTV components are heat cured, which strengthens the paint to prevent corrosion, and then they receive a top coat. Ground was broken for the Oshkosh E-coat building in December 2009, and construction was completed this month. Initial work in the facility began in August with FMTV frame assemblies. Vehicle cabs began undergoing the E-coat process in the facility in September.

15 Oct 10. Creation formally opens its new HQ and Technical Centre. The Right Honourable James Arbuthnot, Member of Parliament for North Hampshire and Chairman of Britain’s Parliamentary Defence Select Committee, has today formally opened Creation’s new headquarters building and technical centre at Bartley Point in Hook, Hampshire. The 12,000 sq ft facility brings both Creation’s design office and engineering workshop functions together under one roof for the first time. In addition to accommodating its escalating defence, automotive and materials handling sector business, the new facility will enable the company to undertake prototype build, specialist vehicle engineering and, if required, low volume production. Welcoming guests to the event, Alan Stanley, Creation’s recently appointed Chairman and former CEO of Pinzgauer said, “The Creation offering is special as it can provide a variety of options for users in terms of vehicle type – and a range of protection levels to meet user requirements. It is not a one size fits all solution – and yet it matches the competition on a like for like basis. I am very proud to be associated with Creation and its world class engineering skills and products”. In inviting Mr Arbuthnot to declare the new headquarters officially open, Creation founder and Managing Director, Bill Davis said, “Today, Creation passes an important milestone and enters a new phase in its development. Since its formation in 1995, it has successfully delivered a wide range of projects from componentry, through powertrain and subsystems, to fully integrated vehicles. It is increasingly recognised in the
