22 Jun 06. Top Specialist Vehicle Sales Expert joins Roush. Roush has appointed one of the UK’s best known defence and specialist vehicle sales experts to head up the development of its growing business in the sector. Bill Waddell was formerly Director of Sales worldwide for Pinzgauer all-terrain military vehicles. His background also includes similar senior positions at tractor and specialist vehicle maker, County and Ford Commercial Vehicle’s Special Vehicles Operation.

13 Jun 06. In France, the army is expected to carry out a review of the management of its land arms equipment in 2006 and 2007, for a possible application of its plans in 2008. In order to keep down maintenance costs, the aim of the review is to use only the equipment that is needed and to store the remainder in dehumidified air. These changes are being monitored with some concern by the French businesses in the defence sector, particularly the land arms manufacturer Giat. (Source: Abstracted from Les Echos/FT.com)

May 06. The former chairman and chief executive of Jaguar, Land Rover and Aston Martin, Bob Dover, has joined the board of Zeroshift, which is developing a seamless automated manual transmission for all types of vehicle. Dover, who oversaw the introduction of models such as the Land Rover Discovery, Aston Martin DB7 Vantage and Jaguar XK8, is joining another well known name from the British motor industry – Charles Matthews, Zeroshift ‘s chairman, who is the former CEO of Cosworth and managing director of Rolls-Royce Motors.
