10 Jun 11. DEE forms strategic alliance with EPS. Coventry-based Development Engineering & Enterprise Limited (DEE-Ltd) has established a strategic alliance with Enhanced Protection Systems Limited (EPS), which is located in Moira, Derbyshire. DEE has been assisting EPS on a number of vehicle design programmes for some time. DEE, a privately-owned British company, was founded in 2005 by Neil McAdam and made its military vehicles debut with its WeeViL (Wheeled Vehicle Light) later the same year. It also subsequently revealed its radical new concept ANT programme (All-TerraiN Transporter). It was one of three companies which was down-selected for the UK Mod’s Light Logistics Support Vehicle competition, which led to the current in-service Springer platform. McAdam is an extreme mobility vehicle engineering specialist and has been closely involved with other platform programmes in the past. Within the new strategic alliance, DEE will bring its chassis engineering, mobility and vehicle performance experience together with EPS’s manufacturing and build capability. DEE’s non-defence activities, which include concept and hybrid development for mainstream automotive OEMs and a range of Toyota-derived high performance engines and gearboxes for the Kit-Car and low volume markets will continue at DEE’s Coventry facility.
