BAE Systems has entered into an agreement with Dennis Eagle, the UK market leader in the refuse collection vehicle (RCV) industry, to integrate a heavy duty hybrid electric propulsion system into one of their low-entry cab vehicles. The newly formed alliance will perform a field trial programme during 2011 with a view to Dennis Eagle offering HybriDrive® powered vehicles to the market commencing Q4 of 2012. This alliance will introduce the use of BAE Systems HybriDrive parallel system into the European RCV market and represents the first phase of a broader strategic initiative to address a range of heavy-duty truck vocations that will also include construction, and package and delivery. The latest member of the BAE Systems HybriDrive family complements and draws upon the company’s proven HybriDrive series system, currently deployed in over 3,000 transit buses across North America and Europe.
07 Apr 11. IFS North America has signed a partnership agreement with Victoria, BC-based ShipConstructor Software, Inc., creating a single end-to-end application environment to meet the needs of the Canadian
Government’s National Shipbuilding Procurement Strategy (NSPS).
ShipConstructor provides an AutoCAD-based CAD/CAM application for the production design of ships and offshore assets, while IFS offers a project-based enterprise resource planning (ERP) system designed to support the entire asset lifecycle including design, fabrication, construction, procurement and aftermarket support, along with a broad array of supporting functions including finance and document management. 12 Apr 11. Anglia has been appointed as franchised distributor for the UK and Ireland by TT electronics, a world leading manufacturer of resistive components. Under the agreement, Anglia can supply the Welwyn Components, BI and IRC ranges including CECC and Mil approved components. TT electronics strengthens Anglia’s product portfolio with the addition of specialist and innovative resistive products including high power, current sense, flameproof, pulse withstanding, fusible, high value, high voltage, precision and temperature sensing ranges. In addition, TT electronics has qualified Anglia to supply its entire range of CECC release and Mil approved resistive products. Prior to the signing of the agreement, TT electronics audited Anglia for the supply of its CECC and Mil approved products. Following this inspection, Anglia’s CECC qualification has been extended to cover the relevant TT electronics ranges, and its certificate and database entry updated. The new certificate can be found on Anglia’s website, and its updated entry viewed in the IECQ-CECC online supplier database. The TT electronics franchise complements the existing ranges of CECC qualified capacitors from AVX and Syfer offered via Anglia’s specialist division, Anglia Hi-Rel.
