01 Jul 10. On July 1st, Dytecna Ltd and Hobson Industries Ltd signed a strategic alliance to target certain future business opportunities. The agreement was signed by John Fulford MD of Dytecna and Peter Hobson MD of Hobsons after formal discussions in Lincolnshire on 1st July. This agreement will see two of the UK’s privately owned businesses in the Defence sector offer assistance and strength to each in the pursuance of new opportunities in UK and overseas. Dytecna Ltd has gained a growing reputation for the integration of complex sub-systems into vehicle platforms and the provision of bespoke technology and support services. Hobson industries has gained a formidable reputation for the support offered to the Land Rover military and police customers worldwide supporting product range with spares and support services. Hobson Industries are also building a reputation for militarising vehicles and systems with new offerings covering blast and ballistic protection. The agreement will see a wider offering to both company’s client base and open up new potential business on a worldwide basis.

CJSC Russian Telecom Equipment Company (RTEC), affiliated with State Corporation Rostechnologies and SELEX Sistemi Integrati S.p.A, affiliated with the Italian industrial Company Finmeccanica, signed a Terms Sheet for a Joint Venture Agreement for the design and manufacture of complex automated security systems for critical infrastructures and events. The new company will start creating the security systems for big transport nods (airports, sea ports, railway stations), industrial plants (oil depots, gas pipelines and others), as well as for major events (congresses, summits, sports competitions). The signature ceremony of the Agreement took place on the 1st of July in the frameworks of International Forum “Engineering Technologies 2010” which is being held in Zhukovsky city, Moscow region.
07 Jul 10. US Aerospace has teamed up with Antonov to bid for the US Air Force’s new-generation aerial tanker competition, which is worth approximately $50bn. US Aerospace requested that the Pentagon allows a 60-day extension for it to prepare its bid, which was expected by 16 June 2010, according to Reuters. Antonov will modify an existing military cargo plane, which will include a rear cargo door, a more stable airframe, and be capable of landing on dirt runways for the tanker competition. US Aerospace will offer its AN-124-KC, AN-122-KC and AN-112-KC models to be built by Antonov in Ukraine with final assembly in the US. (Source: airforcetechnology.com)
08 Jul 10. The defence and aerospace arm of Indian conglomerate
Tata Group has forged a joint venture with Lockheed Martin Corp (LMT.N) to make defence equipment and aircraft parts, the Economic Times reported on Thursday. Unlisted Tata Advanced Systems has sought the Indian government’s approval for the venture in which Lockheed will have a 26 percent stake, while the remaining will be held by the Indian partner, the newspaper said. Citing the proposal submitted by Tata to the government, it said Lockheed would invest 428m rupees ($9m) and Tata would put in 1.22bn rupees. Officials at the Tata Group and Lockheed Martin could not immediately be reached by Reuters for comment. (Source: Reuters)
