17 Sep 09. C-MAC MicroTechnology and Linear Technology Corporation announced a strategic partnership to provide the European, Canadian and Asian space markets with space qualified radiation hardened (rad-hard) monolithic devices and hybrid modules. This important partnership forms part of C-MAC’s strategy for growth within the space market following C-MAC’s accreditation to MIL-PRF-38534 Class K in 2007. C-MAC will assemble, test and qualify Linear Technology’s rad-hard (RH) die in a new range of package outlines at its plant in Great Yarmouth, United Kingdom. This relationship will combine C-MAC’s vast range of microelectronic packaging and test services with Linear’s state-of-the-art portfolio of high performance analogue integrated circuits (ICs). For the first time, customers outside the USA will be able to purchase high reliability, space grade monolithic and multichip modules incorporating Linear’s RH IC designs from a European manufacturer. The product range will be available with qualification to ESA’s ECSS-Q-ST-60-5C hybrid procurement specification or to MIL-PRF-38534 Class K and will undergo radiation testing for total dose accumulation and single event effects. The two companies combine a wealth of design and manufacturing expertise in microelectronic technology and this partnership confirms their position at the forefront of space grade microelectronic solutions.

15 Sep 09. As part of its ongoing vision to deliver an unmatched portfolio of highly integrated COTS products and services to the market, Presagis is proud to announce it is partnering with General Dynamics United Kingdom Limited to help system integrators more easily develop PC-based and embedded display applications for situational awareness. The partnership will see the integration between VAPS XT and SoftMap to power a new era in advanced situational awareness for training both military ground forces and pilots in the air. Now systems integrators have the ability to quickly create advanced embedded display applications which incorporate digital maps for situational awareness applications for a wide variety of platforms. In addition, this new tools-based approach will help developers reduce the costs associated with in-house development by allowing them to integrate software for situational awareness applications in a short period of time without having to code. This integration has been optimized for use in complex simulation applications or to be deployed as a part of embedded systems such as airborne systems requiring safety-critical certification in compliance with standards like DO-178B.
16 Sep 09. Northrop Grumman Corporation and Syagen Technology have signed a product development and
license agreement to further strengthen their collaboration in the development of the next generation of chemical biological mass spectrometry instrumentation. The multi-year agreement, funded by Northrop Grumman, will focus on the development of chemical and biological detection using mass spectrometry, in mobile military operations where a ruggedized, field deployable instrument is required. The agreement includes the future development of a broad range of applications and environments requiring the high accuracy and sensitivity of Syagen’s QitTof(TM) (Quadrapole Ion Trap Time of Flight) mass spectrometer. The mass spectrometer is capable of monitoring, detecting, identifying and rapidly warning personnel of the presence of chemical warfare
