INDUSTRY TEAMINGS

Aug 09. Terma signs F-35 JSF agreement with Lockheed Martin and partners. Lockheed Martin, BAE Systems and Northrop Grumman Corporation have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Danish technology solutions provider Terma. According to the MoU, Terma is a major strategic supplier to the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) Program, as evidenced by contracts awarded to date. The MoU has also been signed by Moog Inc, General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products, Parker Hannifin Corporation and Marvin Engineering Company. The MoU establishes a long-term commitment to Danish industry, the present estimated value of the agreement signed being more than DKK7bn. To date, Terma has delivered development and products with a value of DKK135m.

27 Aug 09. Rheinmetall and ATK agree to cooperate in the propellant domain. Rheinmetall, represented by the Rheinmetall Nitrochemie Group, and America’s ATK have signed a strategic cooperation agreement
which includes the transfer of military propellant technology to the United States. This agreement expands Rheinmetall’s role in the important US market, opening up new sales opportunities in North America and other key global export markets to Rheinmetall Nitrochemie propellant technologies. The agreement entitles ATK, America’s leading ammunition maker, to produce and market state-of-the-art powder and propellant systems for various types of ammunition in North America to the governments and other ammunition producers under Rheinmetall Nitrochemie licence. ATK has already served as Rheinmetall Nitrochemie’s exclusive sales partner in the US since 2005, securing a number of orders and development contracts from the US armed forces. In the medium term, Rheinmetall Nitrochemie plans to establish its own facility for powder processing in the US in cooperation with ATK.
