The Boeing Company and Danish systems integration and software development company Systematic today announced that they are jointly exploring opportunities in global ballistic missile defense, including potential collaboration on NATO projects. The two companies are also evaluating the application of Systematic’s Battle Management/Command, Control & Communications capabilities as part of Boeing’s
Ballistic Missile Defense Integrated Test Bed – a testing,modeling/simulation and training platform. The combination could provide a more cost-effective way to improve missile defense mission readiness. “This is an exciting opportunity for Systematic and a testament to our forward thinking,” said Michael Holm, Systematic president and CEO. “Systematic’s entry into ballistic missile defense allows us to help advance an important security need, share our knowledge and expand our SitaWare suite. By using our core competencies, we aim to simplify critical decision making. “We have a lot to offer when it comes to the Integrated Test Bed,” Holm added.
21 May 09. Two of the region’s leading business development groups have formed an alliance to push forward their members interests abroad.
NOF Energy and Northern Defence Industries (NDI) will work together to plan visits for members to meet with the supply chains of the energy, defence and aerospace sectors in Turkey and India next year.
In addition, the two organisations will collaborate on industry events and share intelligence to benefit members. NDI supports more than 200 companies in the region to match the procurement requirements of the global defence, security and aerospace industry. 19 May 09. Northrop Grumman Corporation announced its aviation industry teammates in the competition for the U.S. Air Force’s KC/KDC-10 Extender contractor logistics support (CLS) contract. The company’s Technical Services sector entered the competition as prime contractor in December 2007. Teammates include TIMCO Aviation Services Inc., AAR, Chromalloy Gas
Turbine LLC, and MTU Maintenance.

21 May 09. A QinetiQ-led team that includes Boeing, announced today that it has received a £26m (US$37.7m) contract from the United Kingdom Ministry of Defence (MOD) to provide Distributed Synthetic Air Land Training (DSALT) to Royal Air Force (RAF) pilots and British Army forward air controllers and artillery personnel. The four-year contract covers the provision and operation of the DSALT facility at RAF base Waddington in Lincolnshire.
