06 Jun 08. Spain and Saudi Arabia have signed a military cooperation agreement during a visit by Saudi Defense Minister Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz, the government said June 6. The agreement is aimed at “developing and strengthening military cooperation” between the two countries, in particular in the fields of training and of scientific and technical cooperation. It was signed late June 5 by the Saudi minister and Spain’s Interior Minister Alfredo Perez Rubalcaba, standing in for Defense Minister Carme Chacon, who is on maternity leave. The Saudi crown prince also met with Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero

09 Jun 08. SELEX GALILEO, a Finmeccanica company, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST). This MOU will see the company develop a working relationship for research and development with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Radio Frequency, Radar, Communications, Laser, Electro Optics (EO), and Infrared Technologies.
SELEX GALILEO is committed to developing high tech partnerships in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and will continue to work with Saudi companies in the areas of industrial participation and technology transfer.
