IndiComm GLOBAL Ltd. NETWORKS OWNING THE NIGHT

November 5, 2009 by

IndiComm Global Ltd was founded by communications engineers and has been involved at the forefront of the telecommunications industry for a number of years. Their HQ is in Louth Lincolnshire with 2 satellite offices in Devon and Hertfordshire. IndiComm’s primary work, at conception was mainly for the submarine cable industry but over the past 2 years they have strategically developed a bespoke long range wireless system in conjunction with a specialist electronics manufacturing partner. The result of this partnership is their Wi-Systems mark. With their extensive knowledge in the telecoms industry worldwide IndiComm are proving that their Wi-System’s equipment can provide a communications system to rival that of standard fibre installations. Wi-Systems can currently transmit internet, live images, VoIP and data, delivering up to 108Mbps over distances of up to 40KM using standard unlicensed frequency bands (this is due to increase substantially in early 2010). Greater distances can be achieved with licensed frequency ranges. All transmissions can be encrypted to ensure absolute security during transmission.

IndiComm’s remit with Hobson Industries was to show the IR lighting system that has been developed by Oxley Developments and Hobson Industries. This technology has been fitted to the Hobson Landover’s which they are supplying for the driving event at OTN; IndiComm have put together a bespoke system to help highlight the need for strategic awareness in the Battlefield at the forward area. Using an imaging company (Panoptics) to supply the latest in IR cameras linked to short range radio transmitters. A Wi-Systems wireless bridge acting as a trunk backbone will transmit the live images across the site at Bisley to a command centre simulating the rear echelon for viewing by the commander. This would enable him in turn to direct his troops and get live feedback from forward units for maximum advantage on the battlefield.

The technology is safe and secure with the most up to date encryption available, including WEP, WEP2 AES with TKIP and MAC Address filtering. It removes the necessity of the laying of wires on the ground which is expensive in fixed installations and impractical in field situations. Wi-Systems equipment is quick to install and is easily moved thus reducing the problems of getting cables wrapped around trees and installing unnecessary infrastructure. Wires can also be tapped into and data can be compromised.

IndiComm will also be using their Wi-Systems equipment to showcase camera transmissions for Thales, MS Instruments, Satmap, Flir and Selex Galileo at the OTN event.

IndiComm Global Ltd is proud to be able to showcase its Wi-Systems equipment as part of the OTN and would be glad to see anyone who wishes to discuss the technologies incorporated on the driving event sponsored by Hobson Industries.
