Serco Inc., a provider of professional, technology, and management services to the federal government, announced today that the Company has been awarded a task order on the Seaport contract with the U.S. Navy’s Fleet and Industrial Supply Center San Diego (FISCSD) Hazardous Material (HAZMAT) Operations to provide logistical support for acquisition, management, issuance and disposal of HAZMAT products and chemicals. The task order has a one year base period with four one-year option periods and is valued at approximately $66m, inclusive of the options. Under the task order, Serco will provide Third Party Logistics (3PL) support in the form of timely and cost effective procurement, storage, issue and delivery of HAZMAT products. Serco’s work on this task order also helps minimize costs and protect the environment through material reuse, recycling, reutilization, and spill prevention programs. The Company will support 15 geographically dispersed installations throughout the Navy’s Southwest Region. Serco has been providing similar services to FISCSD since 2002.
