Dr. Koncherry is the CEO of Graphene Innovations Manchester Ltd (GIM). GIM is the largest partner of the Graphene Engineering Innovation Centre in Manchester, UK and is in the process of setting up a manufacturing facility in the UAE. In addition, GIM is actively involved in hydrogen storage, concrete and space station materials.

INDIA-UK Defence Supplier Forum (NEW!)

The Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers, an offshoot of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), are visiting the UK between Tuesday 21st and Thursday 23rd March. SIDM is an influential group acting as the ‘Voice of the Industry’, working closely with the Indian MoD to shape procurement policy. During this important visit, a delegation of ~15 Indian companies will participate in an India-UK Supplier Forum, supported by UK Defence & Security Exports and other relevant UK trade bodies.

SIDM Members are looking for the following:

  1. British suppliers to offer alternatives to equipment currently sourced from the US and France
  2. Overseas partners to bring new technology to India through local manufacture

Member Networking Event – Ricardo Plc

Social Value Workshop in Defence Bidding

An overview of the workshop: e50K Consultancy will contact each party with a specific questionnaire aimed at their company requirements. The construction of the day will then be tailored towards the companies, and individuals in attendance to maximise impact and value for money.

Defence Attache Engagement (NEW!)

6th June | Larkhill Camp, Salisbury

Attend this upcoming Defence Attaché industry engagement event for the chance to meet one-to-one with UK defence staff before they take up their posts at UK Embassies and High Commissions abroad.

Industry attendees will have the opportunity to have one-to-one scheduled meetings with the outgoing defence staff to be based in those countries of potential interest, and it is hoped that, where possible, the relevant country desk officers and military support staff from UKDSE will also be in attendance. Regional International Trade Advisors have also been invited to attend the event.

Interested companies will pay a small initial deposit and undergo a selection process, this to ensure attendance covers a broad range of domains (Land, Air, Maritime, Cyber, Security and others). You will be sent a short template to describe your business and products, which will then be reviewed. Those who were placed on the reserve list for the previous event in February 2023 will be offered first refusal to attend this event. Further instructions will be sent once you have registered your interest and companies will be contacted regarding attendance during the week commencing Monday 17th April. Successful companies will then be invited to attend the event. Those unsuccessful on this occasion will be immediately refunded their deposit.

This will be the first Member Networking Event and Summer BBQ to be held at The Royal Armouries Museum. This event is a great way to meet and network with your fellow Make UK Defence members in a relaxed, informal environment.  The event will include a Live BBQ to be held on the Wellington Suite Balcony with Views of Leeds Dock. During the Networking and BBQ there will also be chance to look round the Museum.
