10 Jan 19. The Global Space Congress, hosted by the UAE Space Agency, will be held between 19-21 March, at St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. New for 2019, the dedicated Space Security and Defence stream will identify the critical steps needed to develop and implement a coherent national space security policy. It will fill the gaps in existing national space security operations and provide a networking platform for multinational experts from militaries, government and defence officials, key technology providers and industry leaders.
The Congress is an invitation only event with over 700 key space agencies, commercial space, new market entrants/SMEs, academia and end users of space services attending to evaluate the biggest opportunities in the space industry.
More than 90 industry leaders will be speaking at the Congress. Together they will explore the most pressing challenges and exciting opportunities facing the industry such as:
- Developing and implementing a coherent national space security policy – Learn how space security can effectively be integrated with national security policy, what the regulatory roadblocks are, and which stakeholders should be involved
- Protecting national infrastructure – Explore how resilience is being built in and what collective security and new partnerships mean for military space policies and programmes
- Understanding government and military user requirements – Discover how satellite performance can improve through seamless network and what will bridge the gap between the growing requirement for bandwidth and a higher satellite capacity
- Assessing the military space environment in the Middle East – Analyse the future regional needs and what the predicted spectrum issues will be, while enhancing capabilities and learning to develop space assets
- Space and missile defence systems – Assess the reality of missile threats and execution on a definitive defence strategy, enabling interoperability, cyber resiliency, testing and development and approaches to weapon system performance testing and validation
- Building robust, interoperable MilSatCom – Discover how to guarantee communication capability in theatres of operation lacking communications infrastructure, and how to develop more robust, mobile, higher capacity, better secured and better assured communications.
