Nov 09. International Armoured Vehicles. As a subscriber to Battlespace, I would like to invite you to International Armoured Vehicles, which takes place on 1-5 February
2010.
President Barak Obama this week signalled the beginning of the end of the Afghanistan operation. The majority of allies had delayed outlining their intentions, instead choosing to wait for the U.S. to clarify its stance. Obama’s speech seemed to provide authorisation to the entire political and military landscape to give the green light to the essential work of establishing a stabilised Afghanistan, as everyone knows which direction the alliance is taking.
Obama’s declaration followed Gordon Brown’s confirmation that an
additional 500 British troops will be heading to Afghanistan in the next
month, bringing its force level there to 9,500. The move was only taken
with the condition that the UK’s armed forces were to be supplied with
the vehicles and equipment necessary to commit additional personnel. As
a consequence, Defence Procurement continues to remain at the forefront
of the global political agenda.
Procurement tops the agenda at Defence IQ’s flagship event, International Armoured Vehicles which is the only international exhibition & conference dedicated exclusively to the armoured vehicle community. The event brings together senior military and industry experts, providing opportunities to gain expert insights on armoured vehicle trends and global procurement, as well as to conduct business with the world’s leading vehicle, system and component manufacturers and smaller specialist suppliers.
