Oct 09. International Data Links Symposium 2009 (IDLS2009) takes place from 2 to 4 December in Vienna Austria. The International Data Links Society’s 9th Annual Symposium takes place in Vienna, Austria in early December. This year’s symposium agenda includes plenary sessions, with keynote speakers; training streams; an exhibition area including hands-on equipment displays and a planned operational demonstration. The IDLS 2009 operational demonstration is based on the theme “Planning and Execution of Tactical Coalition Operations – TDLs in Support of Urban Warfare”. This is a topic that is current and an important consideration for military and governments worldwide. The aim of the demonstration is to highlight for delegates the interaction between a Joint Coalition

Oct 09. Challenges and opportunities in transatlantic defence industrial cooperation will be the focus of a conference held at NATO Headquarters in Brussels on 15 and 16 October. Issues on the agenda will include technology transfer, intellectual property, market access and investment policies in the context of an economic downturn and anticipated recovery.
Organized by NATO’s Defence Investment Division in partnership with the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) of London, the conference will bring together National Armaments Directors as well as government and defence industry leaders from both sides of the Atlantic. Dr Ashton Carter, United States Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition,
Technology and Logistics, will deliver a keynote address on 15 October, followed the next day by Mr Hakan Jevrell, Swedish State Secretary of Defence, representing the European Union Presidency. Mr Peter Flory, NATO Assistant Secretary General for Defence Investment and Mr Michael Clarke, Director of the Royal United Services Institute will deliver the welcoming remarks.

International Armoured Vehicles (formally Light and Medium Armoured Vehicles) is the largest armoured vehicle event in Europe, attracting over 450 delegates from across the globe.
