DVD GOES LIVE

FLIR Systems Inc. and VISLINK Plc in association with BATTLESPACE Publications are pleased to announce a new feature for DVD – Live Filming and transmission of the Off-Road driving Demonstration during DVD 2008

Wireless cameras mounted on vehicles will transmit live video from the off-road driving course to the Concept Centre and the Off-Road Reception Area

Dave Strong of Flir said, “FLIR Systems is pleased that this year, we are able to participate in DVD to this extent. This allows us not only to help add to the DVD experience, but also to highlight a full range of vehicle ISTAR and Force Protection solutions. This will give visitors a much clearer insight into the various infrared and electro-optical (EO/IR) products and solutions that make FLIR Systems the world leader in vehicle ISTAR and Force Protection.”

Matthew Richards of VISLINK said, “Our system has been designed for use in the harshest environments so this is a great opportunity to demonstrate performance under such tough conditions. We will combine non line of site technology and point to point microwave to provide broad wireless coverage of the Millbrook site from the moving platforms. A satcom backhaul system will be shown at the Concept Centre showing the broad range of products and services from the Vislink Defence initiative.”

BATTLESPACE Editor Julian Nettlefold said, “The provision of cameras on vehicles during the DVD Off-Road demonstrations will bring live filming direct to Exhibitors and Visitors at the Concept Centre and in the Off-Road Exhibition area. Thus vehicle manufacturers can bring their capabilities right into the show area for the first time ever. There will be a static camera provided by Flir Systems Inc. filming the whole area and cameras provided by Flir and VISLINK onboard vehicles. VISLINK are providing live feed from the Off-Road Driving Area to the Exhibition area.”
