08 Feb 18. Aimpoint AB, the leading manufacturer and innovator in red dot sighting technology, has been awarded a new contract from the Swedish Procurement Office (FMV) to supply at first stage Aimpoint® CompM5 and Aimpoint® MPS3 red dot sights to the Swedish Army, a contract worth over SEK 20m. Aimpoint won the tender conducted in open international competition. The Aimpoint® CompM5 sights is the newest red dot sight in Aimpoint product portfolio, and is in operation with the US State Department. It is a user-friendly and extremely rugged sight that increases the effectiveness of the individual soldier. The CompM5 sight relies on a single AAA battery to provide a ‘constant on’ of up to 50,000 hours or 5 years. Currently, more than 1,500,000 Aimpoint® sights are already in use by military forces around the world. The Swedish Army chose the Aimpoint products because of their ability to obtain a fast and accurate target acquisition in any type of light condition, unrivalled ruggedness, ability to function in all types of weather conditions and outstanding long operational life on a single battery.

05 Feb 18. Finland – Evolved SEASPARROW Missiles (ESSM). The State Department has made a determination approving a possible Foreign Military Sale to Finland of sixty-eight (68) Evolved SEASPARROW Missiles (ESSM) and one (1) ESSM inert operational missile for an estimated cost of $112.7m. The Defense Security Cooperation Agency delivered the required certification notifying Congress of this possible sale today.
The Government of Finland has requested a possible sale of sixty-eight (68) Evolved SEASPARROW Missiles (ESSM) and one (1) ESSM inert operational missile. Also included are seventeen (17) MK25 quad pack canisters, eight (8) MK783 shipping containers, spare and repair parts, support and test equipment, publications and technical documentation, training, U.S. Government/Contractor engineering, technical and logistics support services and technical assistance, and other related elements of logistical support.
